Amazing. And it's very incredible how melodic the solo is even though Necrophagist is a technical death metal band.
I actually have a theory that the entire necrophagist entity only exists as a vehicle for these solos, the songs don't matter at all but you need something to put the solo in
@@thelolmaster1997 lol good theory and I'm sure many people treat the albums as such But their riff age is insane and creative. Admittedly though the only I song in wich I prefer the riffs is the stillborn one

This is not just a guitar solo, no sir, this is "The" Guitar Solo. This solo was a sin in ancient history of music, gods forbid this solo. However, this solo was cursed, no matter how hard gods try, solo escaped from their hands and flew higher than everyone, and shone. Its light is still brighter than sun.
They say some tried to hone the solo to please the gods of old who wrote those long forgotten notes with the hope to bring them back from the dead.... In vain.

Fortunately Necrophagist one of the avant garde bands that pushes the boundries of technicality and progression.

It's been more than 10 years since I last listened to metal. The other day someone asked me to name the best metal guitar solo, and this is my pick - one of those rare solos that blend progression, technicality and harmony together. I struggle to find another metal solo that comes close to achieving this.

I'm learning it and it sounds like garbage on the neck pickup. Bridge sounds cleaner with mostly arpeggios imo
@@cyanidedemon93 Use neck. The video is recorderded after the the solo is recorded. He is miming the track (but, obviously, its legit)
@@Bielphegor666 I does sound rather bright as if he used bridge pickup though even in recording. Would have to hear the other one to be sure. Guitars and pickups sound so differently that who knows (unless you use EMG, then every guitar sounds the same :p His EMG do not sound muddy in neck position as mine though if this is indeed recorded with neck pickup - I use 707 though, he has different one)
The first time I have heard the original one, I believed no one would or could even dare to cover this super complex piece. You did it very well though. Flawless; your strings emit the same gloomy sounds coming out from the gates of hell. Congrats bro...

Would love to see a true metal orchestra. Many many guitarists, vocalists, bass players, and drummers with regular drums and those massive ones for live classical music. Have a mad composer and create some metal themed classical music madness. Some very terrifying stuff could be created using the dynamic range of classical music as well as a sudden change from a single guitar to every guitar, bass, and drum in the orchestra just going ham.
