@@FiestaPotato Actually, her old technique didn't damage her vocal cords at all. Demi underwent a tonsillectomy (tonsil surgery), not a vocal cord surgery. Her old technique (as far as belting, one of Demi's best vocal assets, is concerned) was actually better than her current technique. This trend is quite common for singers who have undergone tonsil surgeries (Perrie Edwards' voice has developed in a similar manner; plus, both Perrie and Demi had their surgeries around the same time, give or take a few months).
Demi really is a one in a million kind of voice, just like Whitney Houston, Celine Dion etc. She said in an interview she doesn't pay attention to other singers in a competitive sense, she is actually competing with herself saying she tries to top her vocals from the last performance to the next. I absolutely love this girl. (And yes Demi goes by she as well so none of that please, I did refer to Demi as they until she herself got tired of the backlash).

lucy 28 I think these ways based on the live singing if I remember the title but she can’t hit the high note live in Fall In Line she admitted that but yea how she replaced the note was amazing

It's incredible how much her voice changed in few years. She's got a much darker sound now than a few years ago. I like both though.
