The music on Lorde's 'Melodrama' reflects the wealth of emotions the New Zealand native has experienced of late, and they’re rendered with the kind of poise we’ve come to expect from the pop superstar. Her voice, the melodies, the arrangements she’s chosen to help landscape her feelings - this critically-acclaimed second album is particularly fetching because the 20-year-old singer trusts her idiosyncrasies to fuel her eloquence. “Let’s let things come out of the woodwork,” she coos on “Homemade Dynamite.” That’s what makes the six performances of ‘Vevo X Lorde’ so powerful as well. All her best ideas naturally seep to the surface. Filmed at Electric Lady Sound Studios in New York’s West Village, the mid-August session found Lorde moving through key songs from ‘Melodrama,’ providing each with the proper temperament for the occasion. The set list features “The Louvre,” “Sober,” “Writer In The Dark,” “Supercut,” “Homemade Dynamite,” and “Hard Feelings”/ “Loveless” - she chose to spotlight some of the album’s most vivid moments. Whether backed by a small ensemble, playing the piano alone, or singing a cappella with a squad of vocalists and a beatbox, she brings invention and intensity to the performances. The soft addition of strings and brass adds to the show’s intimacy, and the drama that she’s built a rep on is central to every moment. Jack Antonoff of Bleachers, who produced and co-wrote parts of ‘Melodrama,’ arrives on “Writer In The Dark” to support his pal as well.

You know, I don't listen to many modern artists. I'm mostly into British 60s/70s Rock, my favourite bands are Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, The Jam and other than that Nirvana. Modern Pop music is absolutely not my genre.
I love music with a passion. When I listen to music, I listen to every single aspect of it, I will get crazy over great guitarists (I lose my mind every time I listen to Jimmy Page), I pay attention to how albums are structured (especially with Pink Floyd). I keep losing my mind over good music again and again, but one thing I never do is crying. And I cry a lot. And I cry very often when I am watching movies. But I never cry when I listen to music.
That's why I was surprised when I started crying during this video. I had learned to appreciate Lorde a while ago, I Iove Melodrama and Writer in the Dark is my favourite song by her. But this version really took me by surprise. The pain in her voice overwhelmed me and tears started running down my cheeks. This is art. This is beautiful. A massive experience.

Agree, I will literally feel so different in different seasons. My mood and behavior change so much based on the weather or just how other people act when its cold or warm outside. I actually love it and it's something I hold onto. My favorite seasons are fall and winter and I'm super excited summer is almost over haha. I'm 18 btw but I don't think age plays too much of a part in this. Yeah, over the years you gain experience of how your mind can change when it's a different season but that can still go for a 10 year old, a 20 year old, or a 60 year old. I learned over time that the age thing isn't a big deal in terms of experience. But it does play a factor in mindset; MAJORLY.

Robert Matheus I'm 16 and this is literally true. I'm always my happiest in the Fall, Winter is pretty chill, Spring is the worst. I get so depressed and even have suicidal thoughts and in Summer I'm a different person than I'd be in any other season. This all sounds weird but that's just how it is.
I might be wrong after reading about the meaning of some of the lyrics, but, I always took the "Im my mothers child" as an ultimate fact, doesnt matter the day, or the hour, she's always going to be the daughter of her mother and thats how factual and definitive is the love for this person. Doesnt matter the situation, I will always be my mothers child and I will always love you.
