- On December 13, 2019, I filmed a large number of Seattle Fire units responding to a reported building fire in Ballard (north Seattle). Early reports suggest that it was an exterior fire, started by a transient, that spread to the interior of the building.
0:16 - Engine 21 responding
0:35 - Brand new Battalion 6 responding
0:56 - Engine 17, Ladder 9 and Engine 31 responding
1:33 - Aid 2, Ladder 6 and Seattle Police responding
2:14 - Engine 21 repositioning while Staff-10 and Air-10 respond
2:44 - On-scene footage
2:52 - Medic 31 responding
3:03 - Safety Chief and Deputy Chief responding
3:27 - Medic 44 (medical supervisor) responding
3:41 - On-scene footage
3:54 - Roof operations
4:12 - Closer look at the new Battalion buggies (B4 and B6)
5:04 - Rehab 1 arriving
5:25 - Switching air bottles at the Air10 rig
5:45 - Fire Buff support unit arriving
5:55 - SFD Fire Investigator arriving
At 4:41, you can see someone filming in the upper right window of the green and tan building. His video is here: / 1205537103334932480 and you can see me filming in the tan jacket!

Love watching my home state first responders at work much love and respect to all our first responders you rock
Fantastic action packed video! It was a nice touch to include footage of the firefighters changing SCBAs at the rehab unit!
Thank you! I always like catching a bit of the "behind the scenes" footage when I can.
As always, great video. Thank you.
Love the high low 2:07
Awesome collection of videos Lucas! Glad you were in the right place at the right time to catch most of the units, especially Air 10 which isn’t often filmed. Keep up the good work man!.
Thank you! Yeah, it seems like Air10 responds without lights/siren at least half the time, so I was excited to get it coming in hot!
2:35 nice open compartment door on Engine 21. Hope they didn’t lose anything.
Lol, good eye. They were just repositioning from a block away, so they probably didn't lose too much... :-)
lucaslaughing that’s good. I saw a VRFA aid unit turn a corner in Auburn and the side compartment door was open. When they turned the corner their bunker gear feel out. They kept going so I grabbed it and took it to the station.
@@eriksdaddy Yikes - I bet they were thankful that you were looking out for them!
Great catch!
Thanks Sam!
Wow! Amazing catch. You are there at perfect times. Cant wait to feel the rush of that
Thanks! Yeah, I've had some good luck lately. The PulsePoint app helps a lot - I was still in my pajamas when the fire call came over on the app, so I was able to get dressed super quick and run out to catch all these units.
@@lucaslaughing Amazing!
Oh sweet video! Lots of nice units.
That Fire Buf support unit... is that official? Drove passed the PD roadblock with red lights xD
Thanks! The Fire Buffs are civilians, but they support the FD with rehab/canteen services on-scene, so they're showing up in an "official" capacity. I'm not sure about the laws re: the lights on the vehicle - probably they still need to follow traffic laws on the way in?
@@lucaslaughing Ahhh okay! That's pretty cool. A lot like the Philadelphia 2nd Alarmers.
lucaslaughing I do know every time I see the rehab units in south king, they respond routine.
I believe the rehab unit from Seattle is staffed by one career firefighter. So they can respond with red lights if needed. The rehab unit that eriksdaddy referred to is run by a fire cadet post and is staffed with off duty personnel. I used to help staff that rehab unit. We would always go routine to incidents.
Excellent Lucas!
Thanks Chase!!
gotta say....i dig their trucks
0:17 and 1:01 Airhorn nice asf😍❤️
1:01
For some reason, since all the Medics say “Medic One” on the side i’ve been thinking
“Wow that medic must be pretty busy”
Yeah, I can see how that could be kind of confusing. Medic One is the system used by all of King County (not just Seattle) - more info here: www.kingcounty.gov/depts/health/emergency-medical-services/medic-one.aspx
lucaslaughing Thanks 😁
A little late here, but Battalion 6 vehicle needs dualies on the rear. It looks ridiculous without them.
2:34 Wonder if E21 lost some equipment on their way? Lol. What a wicked response, you were in a great spot. What is the Fire Buffs Support Unit? Do they run emergent? What's their duties?
Clearly the guy on the can didn't check his compartment before jumping on the rig
Nice
Great video. What was the car that came in behind the safety? I couldn't catch the sign on the side.
Thanks for watching! It was the Operations Deputy (DEP1) responding with the Safety Chief.
Engine 21 and 35 are close to where I live so I see them a lot sometimes.
Nice - I see 35 sometimes, but don't see 21 as often.
lucaslaughing yea I’m in the middle roughly sometimes only one or the other will respond to emergencies near me. I live close to the Fred Meyers on 85th sometimes 35 will show up or 21. Actually a rare site would be seeing MCI role out.
The dude at 1:00 that decided to eat toothpaste and watch the engine go by.
Hahaha, hadn't noticed that before. I guess we all enjoy firetrucks in our own way :-D
M44 coming in HOT and Air 10 spare (nice).
Yeah, I feel like M44 tends to come in hot pretty often - maybe that's why they haven't upgraded his rig yet :-D
@@lucaslaughing That's the MSO (Medical Services Officer) and he has nothing better to do. Needs some action! lol
what do the bc buggies carry?.....much larger than my area.....
From what I've seen, they carry quite a bit of comms equipment (including phone-style hand sets), a computer, an incident timer, and IC binder/notebooks - and that's just in the rear compartments. Forward compartments are probably for bunker gear and things like that, but not positive.
20 year old man me just like I’m bored I wanna see fire trucks don’t know why I watch these vids sometimes but I know I’m not the only one 🤷♂️
Lol, sometimes you want some excitement, but not *too* much excitement...
lucaslaughing the inner kid within I suppose but hey it’s cool tho
Are the utility box trucks paramedic units
No, they're the new Battalion Chief units.
e21 door is open but they dont that
They got some of the SPD Traffic Chargers out there.
Yeah! I got video of one of the chargers responding to that fire: ruclips.net/video/mAZgVhj73Rc/видео.html
lucaslaughing It’s pretty awesome seeing them bring out the Chargers.
2:06 your wrong that’s not a fire engine that’s a cop car😀
Lol, no, see, that way they can sneak up on the fire 😂 - thanks for watching!
