    Those battery lives are until the light intensity started to be smaller or until it completely died?

      The data comes from the manufacturer himself. To be honest, I never actually tested this. But as the battery capacity drops down, the electronics switch to the next lower tier until the light complettely dies. So it dies in steps rather than getting darker gradually.
