Amazing how quickly one goes from being terrified of coasters to agreeing with the junkies about how this isn't that good. It wouldn't be so bad if the queues were 5-10 minutes and not 20-40.
20-40 is ok, been much longer lately, averaging over 60 minutes for most of the day.
today i waited like 2 hours for it cause it was a school week when all the schools go 😭😭😭

it’s so irritating because every time i ride it, the queue time says about 30 minutes, whilst in reality its over an hour

No joke the first time I went in this I felt prepared little did I know it goes at 0 to 60mph within a second It was so fast i couldn't even scream
Exactly what happened with me! And I couldn't breathe. My eyes were tight shut I was so terrified the whole time. And the force of the wind pushed my head down and I couldn't lift it back up. after I had such bad pains in my neck and shoulders which lasted a week

I’ve been on Maxx Force which goes 0 to 78mph in less than 2 seconds, it’s the fastest acceleration in America, the only ride that accelerates faster is Do Dodonpa at Fuji Q, Rita would be easy for me

The highest point of the ride is actually painted green to disguise the fact that it's slightly near the tree limit

Rita is pointless honestly if it went up really high it'd have more of a thrill to it. Like thorpe parks one (which I'm dying to go on) Sadly there isn't any well done fast-launch coasters in the UK from what I know

It's a good launch I must admit but after that it's wank and over in a few seconds..Should be some inversions and vertical drops. Been on icon today n makes this look and feel very dated which it is obs

to the people watching this pov who’s planning on going on rita and are scared about going on it. don’t be!! for years i didn’t go on this because it looked to scary. i went on it and had the time of my life!! you don’t feel the train going to the sides it’s just amazing! remember to open your eyes!!

It’s just a lot of people want an intamin blitz with multiple lsm launches and a full layout. The launch on Rita packs a good punch and the first turn is great but apart from that it ends pretty quickly after a helix and a banked airtime hill
i agree good coaster to get used to speed , to prepare for rides like stealth because they are very similar

@@islaxcv it’s not very different tbf. When I first went on Rita I expected it to be tame because of stealths speed but actually Rita isn’t very dissimilar at all to stealths launch
This whole area and ride is looking super tired now. I'd hope the strategic planners at Alton Towers are keeping the dark forest in mind for an overhaul in coming years.
I think Rita will be removed to make way for SW9.

As somebody who's scared of roller coasters, this actually looks like it would be pretty fun. No really scary height element. No bigs drops. Just a speedy race around a track
No loops too. would make a great beginner coaster.

Went to Alton towers twice and barely dared to go on mine train for kids
Third time I went to Alton towers I just gritted my teeth and went on Nemesis....Then every other ride in the park!

Welp, good luck. I think you’re underestimating the sheer intensity of this. The twisted hills are actually very forceful and that launch as well. Can’t blame you because that’s the exactly what I thought about a near clone of this ride (Desert Race)

Sad that I'd wasted so much time being afaid. All the opportunities I'd had to go on coasters but didn't because I was scared.
My only complaint was that it was over to quickly. Long ass queue for a less than a minute ride.

Tbh I enjoyed the runaway mine train more than Rita. Rita is pretty dull for a rollercoaster with no sharp twists or bends or loops or drops. At least the Runaway Mine train is what it is and does a great job of it.

Had my first ride on this yesterday, and it was such an experience feeling a magnetic launch for the first time. It doesn’t look that fast outside, but it’s way faster onride. That doesn’t mean it was terrible; the ride itself was fun!
It actually uses hydraulic to launch but yes it's one of the best rides in the park. It doesn't scare me as much as oblivion does though

I loved this ride, went on three times and queued in the rain, the launch is epic. Who cares if it is over in seconds, the purpose of the ride is pure speed hense it being over quickly

Me and my bro were very lucky that the park was quiet on the day we went and we managed to go on 3 times in a row, couldn't get enough. Such a great coaster

I honestly thought I was ready for this, but as soon as it took off, my soul literally left my body. It looks so much slower in camera. Other than that, it’s an amazing ride! I also love your POV videos, definitely leaving a sub!

What? Quality doesn’t change any of that, it would look as if it’s the same speed in 1080p or 720p, frame rate is what would make it appear as if it’s faster, the lower the frame rate the faster it looks, wide angle lenses will also look faster too

This rollercoaster is sooo loud. I remember queueing up for Thirteen and my ears were ringing because it’s so loud. But I don’t like Rita in my opinion

I don't know why everyone dislikes Rita. Sure, it's a bit rattly and you get a slight, bearable headache and it's not that intense and also it doesn't do that much, but it is still fun and enjoyable and that launch is decent. Colossus at Thorpe park is 100x worse than this!
Looking at this i would prefer ICON at Blackpool Pleausure Beach. ICON is a double launch and atleast had an inversion. Although the best ride in the UK is the Smiler. I haven't been on it but really want to. Rita is one of the worser ones at Alton Towers

1. The height restrictions prevent it from going higher
2. AT was in a rush to get another coaster in the park, therefore Rita was rushed. Hence, Rita doesn't have much elements, the only good ones being the launch and the bank turn after. If they took more time on Rita, they could have made it longer and added more elements and airtime hills and maybe even an inversion. Personally though I still love Rita and think it's a must ride when visiting.

I prefer Rita to Stealth. The launch is just as good and the pace is kept throughout. I would enjoy it so much more if it had a theme/name that made sense 😅
I know Stealth is 18 mph faster than Rita but for some reason, Rita's launch actually feels faster and much more intense Stealth's launch.
I loved Rita when I was younger I still love it now it’s so fun and exhilarating if you’re riding it for the first time it might be a little bit scary but you will get used to it lol
Fun fact: Rita actually does have theming it’s supposed to be a last attempt to escape the dark forest
Another fun fact: if you go somewhere deep in the gardens you’ll be able to find a tree that are used for the Th13teen Advert kind of suspicious huh? And even more so people say if you take a picture next to it, ghost girl will appear somewhere in the picture!
POV videos do not tell you how good this ride is. When you are on it, it feels 10x faster!
Underrated and Overhated definitely. I think this ride is very good. I know most of you will probably attack me and stab me multiple times while I sleep at night dreaming about rainbows, while my internal organs are being stolen to be sold on the black market, but personally I think this is a fun ride. The launch is nice and thrilling, and you get some decent pops of airtime. It’s the gap between Th13teen and Oblivion. This will always be a fun ride, until it starts having SLC Syndrome and needs to have some dismantling pills.

Every time I watch a UK POV, I always feel a sense of sadness for UK park goers who constantly end up with rides restricted to asinine height limits because of local councils.

Alton towers is the best park in the uk (at least in my opinion) but its the only one that has a tree line restriction
All the parks without restrictions are normally to small and don’t have a budget and the ones that have the budget have the restrictions
The fact that Alton towers has the rides that it does even with the restrictions impresses me. Would love to go to the UK someday and visit this park.
As someone who's from the UK I agree. Still alton Towers has some of the best rides in my opinion. It had one of the three original b&m invert, the first b&m flying coaster, the first infinity coaster and also holds the record for the most amount of inversions on one ride, has the first b&m dive coaster and more.
@@nomi7743 I used to be in the mindset that TP was better, but AT has since surpassed with The smiler and Wickerman. The lack and poor investment choices has hurt TP over the last 10 years

Stealth is a good ride for sure but just not as fulfilling as Rita. After the launch, unless you're on the front row, Stealth just loses the fun. There is also more constant speed on Rita and more airtime, too. Despite an 18 mph speed difference, the launches feel more or less the same, and I actually feel that Rita has more of a kick to it. You also get a churning of the stomach on Rita that I never experienced on Stealth, so I have always liked Rita much better than Stealth.

Tom Wakley on Rita you actually lose speed on the air time hills. Stealth is actually consistent on the launch and the 205 feet drop

Don't hold your breath, the ride has the most g force in the park and it will be literally moving your organs inside of you. If you hold your breath, the wind will be moving so quickly past you, you won't be able to catch it. If you didn't hold your breath then try screaming, you will be forced to respirate.

Man...the length and substance of this coaster looks pitiful.
It's really fast, me n my mates didn't queue as we went on a week day but if u had to wait 2 hours for it wouldn't be worth it as it only lasts like 16 seconds
0 Inversions, it isnt fast, and its about a 20 second ride and yet still has over the shoulder restraints, if they changed these to lap bars, it would be sooo much better

But Rita isn’t revolutionary at all. There was no world’s first in Rita and Rita was actually suppose to be added to Oakwood Theme park but they couldn’t afford it. Also Rita is the only Big Seven that was not a secret weapon because it was not that interesting.
Stealth was actually constructed the same time as Rita as Stealth took longer to build due to its 205 feet height and theming. Rita lacks theming and speed

This ride looks very slow on the video but it is extremely fast on the ride
I went on this ride very recently and it was great fun. People complain it was too short but it was honestly one of the best rides in the theme park
Couldn't agree more, went on this and oblivion twice, although they are the shortest coasters they are probably the most gripping, that launch is something else. Absolutely incredible

Yeah! I went the other day and was really surprised at how much I enjoyed it, I think not queuing for long helps though! I managed to go on so many rides that I actually felt a bit sick by the end of the day! Great day!

Been here too, on teh opening day of this ride, when it was in UGLand, and i waited 2 hours for this ride.. and fuck me i was dissapointed. no airtime, the launch is not intense, its slow, and the first bank corner the speed has gone and the ride is finished.. worst 2 hours of my life ever.
Tips for this ride push your body back as much as you can it helps with the whiplash and the ride starts on the first go that be said it’s one of my favourites
The amount of people saying that this ride is lame or tame or whatever, I must be mad when I say it's my all-time favourite roller coaster. I even love it more than Stealth at Thorpe Park.

@@danieldj7126 Rita has a more intense launch, constant speed, more airtime, a longer ride and just a better overall ride. Apart from the launch and the ascension of the top hat tower, Stealth doesn't do much for me. Unless you're in the front row, you don't even notice the height. Stealth also ends quite messily and abruptly and the ride is over as soon as it begins.

@@danieldj7126 I didn't really notice it that much in the back seat whenever I rode over the top hat. I love the launch and the ascension of the top hat on Stealth, but that's about it. Apart from its good theming, I have nothing else to compliment it on.
If you think this is fast you should go on the smiler, this is NOTHING compared to the smiler. This ride was extremely short.

It is pretty rough. It’s actually a pretty good ride if you’re lucky and it’s not rough one day, but last time I went on my head banged on the sides 5 times in a row and I came off with a painful arm
So I went to do this abt a month ago and there was this really annoying boy sitting next to me saying “oh my god this don’t even look fast” next thing u know all I hear was “AHHHHHHHHHH”

This ride is a bit worse for wear at the moment
The seats are quite uncomfortable and smell terrible. It has a disgusting musty smell which ruins the experience.
The ride feels a lot more rough these days than it used to which is a shame. I hope they can sort it out because it has a lot of potential.
In the queue of TH13TEEN the track went over the line a bit so every so often there was a sudden rush of screaming
Rename this coaster "miserly dad escaping from the airport short stay car park by tailgating". The commentary and high g forces make much more sense then.

No one has mentioned a uh, certain rollercoaster called Stealth *cough* 0-80 in 1.9 seconds
Gotta admit if u hate Rita saying it's boring then u r clearly saying formula Rossa is as bad as Rita it's near enough the same layout
DOES ANYONE NOTICE THE RUBBER DUCK ON THE ROOF OF THE RED THING AT THE END OF THE RIDE CAUSE I POINTED IT OUT WHEN I WAS ON IT AND EVERYONE GASPED I DONT KNOW IF ITS STILL THERE THOUGH
I'm still kinda mad about this ride because I was queuing for an hour and a half to get on it, then when I got to the front of the line they said "Rita is currently experiencing some technical difficulties, we are not sure how long it will take to fix sorry for any inconveniences" I was so mad I hopped the fences to get out of there
You should have waited as they usually provide exit passes for another attraction if that happens ☺️
I don’t see why this ride gets so much hate, sure there’s better intamin accelerators around like top thrill dragster and stealth, but it’s still an all out fun ride because:
It’s full of airtime, if you’re in the back row you get absurd amounts of airtime
The second banked curve is the most intense part on any ride that I’ve ever experienced, 4.7Gs of force
The launch is flat out insane, in my photo it looks like I’m crying because of the force blowing against my face
Overall it’s a great coaster and gets way too much hate thrown at it.

This comment is so true and I agree with this. #ShowLoveToRita It's not Rita's fault, the one in the advert saying nothing can beat Rita, it's his fault. Now it's getting hates when it's not even the coasters fault.
