Why did they even add incursions at all. I wanted to play classic plus. Classic game with a few quality of life improvements. Not it's like retail with daily quest spam. Hate that they added this. Bad bad bad.

I got 200 gold, 6/6 full level 50 blue set from rep and 10 levels in under 5 hrs. Straight dumpster fire, this is the Phase of Retail.
Yep same. Now they will nerf it as well so anybody late to the party can't get it LMAO just like when they nerfed the gold. Some people got over 1000g in the first few hours doing these and they did not roll back the gold.
I’m glad I was able to get my two characters to 50 fairly quickly and actually got some gold for talents and consumes (unlike 25-40)

I tried the Nightmare Incursions and really didn't enjoy them, so I went back to dungeon grinding. Except I found out each of my alts needs a rune from the incursions, and also no one is really doing dungeons because incursions are just too tempting to ignore. So I guess I'm just done with SoD, unless I can somehow get around these things.
lvl 47-48 = 19 min. thats Bullshit. 190g in less than 7 hours. i dont understand what they are doing. if phase 4 is like thats im 100% out. Might aswell give people lvl 50 off the bat.

Your one of the players that ruined original WoW back in the day and slowly made it what we call Retail today. Complaining in the forums that leveling is too hard, cant find groups, AKA make the game easier for us. What blizzard did wrong was they listened to the complaints, they started small with "quality of life" updates, then we get heirlooms, and in the blink of an eye we can already buy a MAX LEVEL CHARACTER! This is an MMO-RPG, if you dont enjoy the grind, then im sorry but Classic WoW is not for you. Try out Fortnite or maybe Overwatch. @peter486 said a very good point, this is what slowly ruined our original WoW game and turned it into Retail.

This isn't classic wow. That's still there... like I said before. SoD is not classic. Once you classic Andies realize that this game isn't meant to be a grind maybe you'll have some fun. It's 2 month phases designed to play as many characters as you can. If they didn't do this everyone would be in ZF. Nothing changed except the location of where you will be spamming for 5 hours.

Tbh it's just lame, even if they didn't nerf it before ppl who work get to use. The whole point of classic is the leveling experience and this essentially ruined all of that and ruined gold markets...why not just give us lvl 50 boosts....incursions are a cool idea but it shoulda been a lvl 50 content.

You know what would have been cool. Incursion as an Instance. You walk through solo or group and get a randomised instance with mission. Clear, get loot xp.
Yeah I said the same thing. Going through the portal is an instance. Beginning of every instance, each person gets a single quest they can deputize others with, and you do those 5 quests each run
your perception is so bad do to your 24/7 play time, this is a dads game - not for elites and speed runners
incursions is destroying the game - it was a very bad implement into the game.
This whole event sucks so much I dont even want to play this season anymore. And no the next big update where they increase the EXP to 75% and so on will not save anything. Cause you have to do the incursion because you get the set piece from the rep grind which is either bis or close to bis for level 50. By far the worst decision and gameplay experience i had in a long time in wow and like i said the worst thing u cant even ignore it if u want to raid or just optimize your gear.... Right now I would rather play retail than SOD. And I thought I would never say this.

I lvld my druid outside incursions. It was wierd seing many people reach 50 way faster than me. The gatekeeping part you mention might just kill the Momentum 😂 hell no if I would accept that premise. " Go do incursions and come back at 50 to join this dungeon" what the actual fuck
This is a player caused problem that was enabled by the design of Phase 3.
Call it what you want. But the player base has min/maxed the fun out of classic and most games in general.
Creating content is trying to ride a line between "why did Blizz not take my fun into account" and "why did Blizz not take my time into account".

if the dev allows people to loot 9 million gold from a rabbit critter in the starting zone people will do it. you'd have to be soft in the head so say its on the players for looting the rabbit instead of blaming the dev for putting the *****ing gold on the rabbit in the first place.

Min/max culture has absolutely destroyed online gaming.
It's also that Blizzard threw away all the punishing aspects of Classic that keep people in check. Sure, the gaming culture is here from retail and smearing their feces all over the walls, but Blizzard is accountable here in large part. They could have made a game that didn't undermine itself, but they didn't, they pushed farther the other direction.

Activision Blizzard has pretty much filtered out everyone who isn't a hardcore gamer or casual who "doesn't have time for leveling". Everyone else has either switched to private servers or has quit entirely.

delete incursions. unironically. delete them and don't replace them with anything, i don't want any possible excuses for not removing this, so i don't even want anything new in return. literally just delete incursions and call it a day.

I will leave a detailed reply here so you maybe better understand human psychology & player behavior.
2 of my level 50s, I did not to incursions on.
The other 3, I did.
You're allowed to do something without liking it. The fact is, incursions are:
- Faster
- More Effective (All in one place, more xp/hr)
- You work towards endgame rewards while leveling, getting rune + 6/6 tier set for pre-bis.
A lot of players, while leveling, choose the path of least resistance / most effectiveness, regardless of how much fun they have, because they wanna reach max level fast.
Think back to 2019 & the SM Grind from 30-42. Even Asmongold did this on stream for 2 days straight, saying he hated every moment of it, but it was so easy & effective. 99% of streamers did this, most of which said they still hated it.
If Road A gets you from 1-60 in 300 hours and you have a lot of fun while doing it, while
Road B gets you from 1-60 in 150 hours but you hate it
A LOT of players would choose Road B.
and I say this from an objective point of view. I love leveling in Classic WoW, while a lot of raiders for example only see it as a chore. if anything I'm biased towards Road A.

- Lots of people hate that its in the game, but still buy it.
Level 58 Boosts at TBC Classic launch, a lot of people hate that the boost is in the game, but still use the boost.
Level 80 Boosts in Wrath Classic currently, same situation

A lot of people go for runs even though they hate it, to stay in shape.
Incursions are absolute trash. I personally am extremely disappointed with SoD, and honestly I don't trust Blizzard or believe they can create good games anymore. I fully expect the rug to pulled out from under us with SoD and it basically end and go nowhere. Or just turn into a dumbass seasonal thing and not permanent long term.
They had a problem with dungeon spam but incursions is just braindead easy mode. Guildies spent half a day to level from 40 to 50.... Also flavourwise they could have done beter...its boring AF and too easy.
its fucking hamsterwheel torture. absolutely refuse to do it. i did 2 "laps" as the sweats call it and i never want to go back, and this was at the time the gold reward was at its peak.
it left an awful taste in my mouth. i actually want to go take a cold shower or something because i feel like committed a sinful act.

To be honest, I don't see Nightmare Incursions as a bad thing for the levelling at least. The gold gain is a completely different story because all that is going to do is further inflate the gold economy and if you aren't farming hundreds of gold you are just going to be wondering why everything costs even more than it did previously. As for the speed you can obtain while levelling, I've done classic several times, 2004 Vanilla, Nostalrius, 2019 classic, Season of Mastery, Hardcore (addon), Hardcore (realms), I've seen the classic journey back to front at this point, and don't get me wrong i still love it, there is a reason I'm still playing this game after 20 years, but for a lot of people who wanted to "go fast levelling" if Incursions didn't exist what was the alternative, spamming the same dungeon over and over again with an optimized AoE group? that to me gets just as boring as incursions would. Knowing how long it took to level in phase 2, i set aside a whole weekend to level, I hit 50 on my Warrior by Friday evening. Do i regret it? hell no. am I gonna quickly power one of my other alts through it to get another 50 as fast as i can? No. Just because its efficient doesn't take away your own agency, people act like aggrend came over to their home, held them hostage and forced them to do incursions, people did that to themselves. If you like a slower pace and to level more, do that. If you want to go fast do that, more options never hurt.
Agree with everything you said here. There is a good bit of things for me to do in terms of getting runes, farming BIS, BM for new wep, and farming gold for epic mount next phase etc. Last phase I fell behind because I didn't have time to level, and I started to get bored because as you said, I have leveled to max in every version of vanilla, including private servers. They really want people to level alts, and at the end of the day they are pretty much screaming at us at this point, that this is truly a temporary game mode.
Not really the outcome I wanted for SOD, but they have told us all along and I think we all just wanted this to roll into a classic+ thing but it doesn't look like it with the way they are speeding us through the content.
No one forced people to do it, but… don’t really feel like being level 42 and surrounded by a bunch of sweaty ass 50’s beating on me. The gameplay sucked. Also had a rune locked behind it.
@@Jeremy_Walker I think Blizzard understand that this type of content isn't for everyone, that's why the put the rune so early in the rep grind, hell I am not longer farming it now that I am 50, I do 1 of the missions once a day to get my free 1000 rep. Just like you expect players to respect your decision to not engage with the content you also need to respect their decision to engage with it, and if you play on a PvP server getting killed by a higher level or more geared player is always gonna happen, world PvP is never going to be fair or balanced - if that isn't enjoyable for you then just like me and many other players roll on a PvE server

I like the experimentation, that’s the whole point of SoD, they tried this out, they were over tuned, and now they are bringing them down some because they agree it was too strong. Let them experiment and try things. Better than the alternative
Absolutely no one can complain about incursions. They are not mandatory. Just don’t do them. You are free to play as you wish.
I put the same comment in your last video on incursions. Cities are empty, world quests needing groups are impossible now and dungeons require level 50s are a no go. SoD, so I thought, was a more relaxed way of levelling over time and more alt friendly. All that has been thrown out and a retail like experience has taken over. Even in P2 players were asking for logs and gear score to get into dungeons. I left retail and WotLK Classic because of this 'must have these to enter dungeon' mindset. If the game becomes like a job, it's no longer enjoyable.
Tbf, I have done a couple of incursion rounds, but always end up with a headache doing them. Hyperspawning mobs are a pain as a Warlock as as soon as I res, I don't get chance to rebuff and get a pet up before getting battered again. Trying to complete a kill quest is difficult as there are too many mobs around that spawn and kill you. I was told I'm playing it all wrong apparently. Tag mobs, don't bother killing and sit on a ramp for escort qs to finish. Just run around and pick up eggs and reports! What sort of of content is that! Great for levelling, if that's all you want to do, which is sad. Why they don't time limit it like Ashenvale and STV events I don't know. Maybe have a built in timer or a counter for players that start and do X amount of quests at a time and then they can't carry on after that unless a couple of hours have passed.
Hot take. They are conditioning players to like retail in preparation for the new expansions.

its pretty irrefutably the players that set the standard for what constitutes classic+ - NOT the devs working on SOD, they literally have to just shut up and listen to what the community wants and give it to them.
which was how they proceeded when they launched the game back in november 2023, evident by the appearence of tank shamans, retri pala, moonkin (etc.) as viable specs in the game - something classic+ enthusiasts were talking about for years and years before blizzard finally pulled their thumbs out of their asses and actually did it.
i mean, Turtle WoW has existed for years and its pretty much the same concept of SOD exactly.... as of going into phase 3, this is clearly no longer the case as the blizz devs have completely lost the plot.
final thing: stop acting like hardcore and era are viable alternatives to SOD.

But Solheim, even if you remove the xp buff 40-50 people will just use spamming dungeons as the replacement, only way to fix that is to cap the dungeons to 24hr lock out like in HC

i hate the nightmare incursion cause i got a abuse chat silence report for 7 days cause people mass reported me for trying to kill alliance players doing the incursion. Bunch of snow flakes

I did incursions on my main. It's beyond annoying to skip everything and do a few quests, not even going to bother on my alts.

Nightmare Incursions are fine. The problem
is it's too much xp per hour and gold per hour. Even after NERFS. They should have gave like one fifth of what they gave and people would have still done it for the rep and catch up gear.

My guild told us today, they're focusing on cata/remix mop...I already didn't want to play the new raid. Going to just start mass producing rugged hide, arcanite bars, and reps for mc. I think what they should've done was make nightmare for every 10 lvls, and the last one would be in hinderlands, where you rep farm, if not at max lvl all the zones turn lvl 50, so you won't have a cluster of mass pvp honor farming...
They're removing everything that was good about classic, I knew they wouldn't be able to hold it together. I knew it would go bad when they announced Gnomeregan as a raid, possibly the worst dungeon they've every made, the only one that comes close to how bad Gnomer was is BFD. So far they've made you mega OP for no reason, they give you gold for no reason, it just looks like "Classic Retail" now, I'm glad I quit at the start of P2.
This was NOT what people wanted when they asked for more repeatable PvE endgame content except raidlogging. Not saying I want m+, but something like a restricted titan-rune thingy for dungeons (both current and from earlier phases) would have been great. Right now you can do everything preraid bis in one place and be done in 6 hours. What -the -fuck.
I think its safe to say they rushed what they were doing with p3 because of the plunderstorm backlash. It's nobodies' fault but the dev team working on the game. Everyone has been saying bots killed SoD for the last 6 months but the truth is Blizzard killed SoD. The only version of WoW without a PTR and the only version of WoW to be completely ruined by oversights.
My biggest issue with phase 3 was the fact that nobody tested nightmare, they had multiple bugs or exploits and not just minor ones... the first was the xp rate people were getting 50 within 4 hours of doing nightmare, the 2nd was the gold you were getting per quest. The final one was if you were max rep with nightmare you could spam the epic trinket and players were making over 4k gold a hour because of how broken the trinket was. At this point I am going to classic cata when it comes out, because at least with that I know that I don't have quit my job to play wow 24 7 and pray I get to use some BS bug and make thousands of gold.
Getting to lvl 50 isn’t the whole game. People were going to get to 50 day 1 anyways. There is so much to do after lvl 50. STV to get the new currency for the new items. Honor to rank up for pvp gear. Mara and ZF farming for new currency and items. Professions, crafting. The new raid. There are great quest rewards that you will want to get. The new raid. That’s all just for one character. Get out there and play the game. So much to do in the open world including runes at lvl 50. Incursions aren’t the end of the world, the sky isn’t falling.
1. why tf do people just race past and aggroing mountains of mobs?? 2. I don't have any problem with doing the first kill quest outside the portal awards you ONE letter of incursion, but that you get another letter upon finishing an incursion is dumb. just make every incursion need to be gained through that kill quest, that way it's not AS repeatable and there's still a random chance to get either a proffesion tied Q or elite kill Q or "item on the floor" Q...
Honestly I had to work and still am working, I wont have time to play until Monday, but I dont feel slighted by missing the exploitation. I play at my own pace and enjoy all aspects of the game. I only hope they let phase 3 go on longer than phase 2. That being said, even as a casual I still got both my toons Druid and Paladin to level 40, did gnomer and got a full set of gear for both and ended the season with enough gold to get dual specc for both. So, all in all even casual players should have plenty of fun. I'm not interested in parsing or world firsts. Now the younger me (I'm 42), would have been pissed. However, I would encourage people to take a breath, do your own thing, and don't play into the hype of people who no life this game.
Yeah I just missed out on BOTH the gold and the xp from incursions as I can only start playing today. I was 100% BiS phase 2 with 98% parses and I'm just going to skip phase 3.
As a casual/limited time player, i feel like devs betrayed me. All nerds who exploited incursions early on got waaay ahead of us, and the phase even didn't start yet. I already feel left behind and dont know if I should even try to chase them. And players' elitism is making all of it even worse. I barely made it to Gnomergan once, though it was not hard at all, but gatekeepers did their job well. I feel like it will be impossible for me to get in pugs for ST. And a lot of busy/casual players can't raid with guild cause of moving schedules. I guess i will quit. I liked start of it a lot thought.
The incursions are the reason im not going to be playing SoD anymore, the only way i would go back is if they roll back the servers to the day of launch and redo the launch
Lol Sod was fucked from the start. Instead of making new quests, zones, dungeons, items, classes and raids in the classic setup, they just changed the classic setup completely. Don’t get me wrong the whole rune thing is fine but it really has been the only good thing so far. 10 lvl phases and turning dungeons into raids are bad ideas.

Incursions is the biggest shieet ever ... running in a circle avoiding mindlessly the game entirely ...i would rather bootst myself in ZF/SM/mara since it require a little bit of skill at least and makes fun to see the pack melting..

Immediately when you do one of these you know its a retail tech idea. They missed the mark as far as making it to powerful in quest xp and initial gold but i can see the concept. Main issue is, this is a seasonal mode and they created another rep grind. 75 rep a quest and it no longer matters to me about killing things for xp. You put an epic item at exalted so for someone who does not want to waste all their time grinding endlessly on a seasonal mode I will find the fastest route to avoid wasting my time. That means I do not care to kill your mobs if you give me pick up quests instead. While I understand the purest mindset for classic they have to remember this is seasonal and you can level any way you please. If you feel these are not the go to thing for your mindest then level the natural way only 50% faster because of the buff.
When I heard about incursions I thought they were going to be good, like a world event everyone could enjoy. Then it landed and I immediately hated it, this isn’t a fun world event it is a cheap recreation of those scenarios from BFA that is mandatory to have a guild group in order to get done.
The thought of blizz spending time making content like this instead of retuning 40m to 20m next phase led me to unsub on day 1 of p3. Really disappointed.
most people, as you said dad gamers, have no time to grind dungeons or quests so this is a good addition, they just need to balance it out

the only thing better than nerfing this event into obscurity is deleting it altogether and have a long hard think of what it is you are doing as a dev, because this isn't just a miss, its a flop.
I don't mind the incursions. I didn't do them myself, I think its mainly for people tired of leveling. You don't have to do them. you get good gear with rep but do it after you leveled. Why if something is in the game, people think they have to do them.

Honestly I get why they tried this. There are too many games for me to spend my time leveling in classic for the 5th time. 80% of the do-over content for 20% new content is just not worth it (and I'm being generous with those percentages). There are constantly new games coming out so I don't care to sub to start a game I've played through several times already. Poor execution absolutely but they are just trying to take the classic out of SoD and honestly I think that's for the better. We don't need another way to experience classic we need something that's fun to play. Sprinkles on my doughnut might make it fun but it's still another doughnut.

Haven't even been able to play yet because I'm a normal player who works and has a family. Ofcourse blizzard is going to make changes so that no lifers got to speed level and regular joes get fucked. Phase 2 went so fast I only had enough time to gear one char and level a 2nd ...
Personally, I like the idea of taking the grinders and spammers out of my world farm areas XD I think it is nice to separate material gathering from leveling, makes world drop mats more valuable.
Only thing keeping anyone I know playing any version of the game is 40% nostalgia and 60% group of old friends in a guild, the game itself is totally useless in all it´s forms
Interesting how all these content "creators" in wow complained but in all the videos and streams that I could see, none of them kill a horde/alliance, they only dedicate themselves to doing the mission without caring if there are 1000 hordes/alliances there

800g, lvl 41-50 in 6 hours. Played first day befour they nerfed gold. XP and gold experience 10/10. Gameplay fun 1/10.

The experience you are having is quite different on a PvP Server. We have all out Wars breaking out.

Reminder that all the leveling content is still out there. Nobody is forcing people to do Nightmare Incursions. Not everybody wants to go through the Classic questing experience for the 50th time on an experimental seasonal server. Those of you that do, it's still there for you.

The only players that like this update are those Retail Andy's at heart who want to look like/be that "Minmax try hard gamer" but without actually having to trying hard. These are the players that ruined original WoW back in the day and slowly made it what we call Retail today. Complaining in the forums that leveling is too hard, cant find groups, AKA make the game easier for us. What blizzard did wrong was they listened to the complaints, they started small with "quality of life" updates, then we get heirlooms, and in the blink of an eye we can already buy a MAX LEVEL CHARACTER! This is an MMO-RPG, if you don't enjoy the grind, then i'm sorry but Classic WoW is not for you. Try out Fortnite or maybe Overwatch. This is what slowly ruined our original WoW game and turned it into the shitty Retail it is today...
