One important thing to note about Devil in a New Dress transitioning to the next song (Runaway) is that the transition is inspired by Abbey Road. The sudden end to Devil will transition to the next side that opens with a serene, isolated piano. The end of Devil in a New Dress crescendos with bass, piano, strings, electric distorted guitars and then suddenly cuts out and then the listener has to flip the record over to the next side (in this case, switch records) to hear the plinking of the piano that opens 'Runaway'. If you remember, side A of Abbey Road ends with the crescendoing chaos of 'I Want You (She's So Heavy)' and suddenly cuts out, and then you flip the record over and what's the first thing you hear? The isolated serene acoustic guitar intro to 'Here Comes the Sun'. This isn't a theory either, this was confirmed by one of the engineers or staff who worked on the project (I have to find that damn interview, it was all the way back from 2010), fucking progressive Kanye is with that track sequencing.
