She did great. She's never trained for that so for it to be her first time. Great job.
I wanna see a seal complete the Navy SEAL screening test
What 😂
@@AustenAlexander That's actually a good idea
Actually tho
@AustenAlexander I think he means as in he wants to see one of the best perform it and see how well they would do. It would be interesting, I will say. They will surely pass it, but how good compared to others?
@@yourewrong4090no, he means a seal like 🦭
She has a pretty name and seems so positive about everything (even her fails).
Now I wanna see Austen do lifeguard training
Her energy and personality are so great. 😊❤ love people like that
Coral: "Nah, I've got a job!"
Me: Dead!! 🤣
She definitely passed the vibe check, that's for sure!
This girl was a BEAST!
For someone that hasn’t trained specifically for this test, she did remarkably well. Good for her!
She was my Junior Lifegaurd instructor!!! Coral is awesome!!!!
What’s up dude!!! JGs for Life!
Even though she came up just short, I would feel alot more comfortable swimming along our beaches knowing that they're guarded by others like her.
I like her. She's just so happy. Haha.
She had the best form, consistently, of anyone so far. She also has the nicest personality. Cheerful throughout.
It's crazy how different the muscles we use adapt to different things. You use completely different muscles on sand vs hard ground. For swimming vs pushups, etc. You can be fantastic at one thing and suck at the others even when it is a similar action. She did way better than I would have.
You dont need that wild upper body strength as a lifeguard, so i'm not surprised. Technique matters of course, but if you have very strong arm and upper body muscles, you'll be naturally good at most related exercises. But yeah she did well regardless.
I was teaching a swiftwater rescue course years ago and got these two guys from LA county lifeguards. As a river guy I’m getting ready to teach them the combat swimming section where students learn how to control panicked victims in the current and I’m thinking, “these flatwater guys are gonna get a rude awakening.” They wrapped me up so tight I had to beg permission to breathe. Those lifeguards have my utmost respect. They absolutely smoked that course….and they even tied all the knots correctly!
Great video. Two whole different worlds to train in. She did an awesome job.
She was SO close, which is EXTREMELY impressive on its own. Not many people can get that close in one go, speaks volumes on her skills as lifeguard. She had fantastic form also I might add in every category which again is something many do not have. She’s a BEAST, I’d feel completely safe with her saving me in the ocean for sure. 👏🏻
Obviously you were never military. She was not 'Close'. None of her push-ups would have been counted.
But, in the tradition of 'Everyone gets a trophy ' she did amazing.......let's pass her !!!!! Standards mean nothing anymore. Inclusivity is more important than mission accomplishment or people's l8ves.
@@timothyfinnegan6553 Lol, since when do they do proper (ie. chest touching the ground) pushups in the military?
@@timothyfinnegan6553 wow you’re a very sad and miserable person. Good luck in life.
I think we were watching different videos
She was not close at all. She wanted to give up all the time
That's the red flag for being a seal. You can't give up. She had ten seconds left on just fifty pushups and didn't even try to get to the next level.
I would not want her, or any baby man giving away participation trophies cuz they feel good, having my back in any scenario. They would quit and go home, saving themselves.
Always love the run part as a runner, would love to try this challenge myself, I know I could do all of these individually, but back to back is insane
I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS. MY FAVORITE RUclipsR OF ALL TIME!!!
I love her energy so much
As a former swimmer, the combat side stroke would leave me all discombobulated lol.
I was dizzy af every time I finished the swim
its all about traning if you train for this test you can do it but if you don't it can be hard .
she tried her best that's all matter.
great efforts.
Even after training a vast majority of females won't be able to complete this, let alone be competitive with any of the males.
@@HughMongousPCThey dont have to be competitive with the men though. But yeah the percentily is 10 points above men or thereabouts. It's a lot more about mindset though.
@@melanp4698 Percentily? And yes, the do have to be competitive with men, it's not some desk job, it's to be a Navy SEAL.
@@HughMongousPC Percentile* sorry. They only have to be competitive with men, if they take a man's spot. But if we're going 100% by picking the most qualified person for the spot, then i 100% agree that men are mor qualified 95% of the time.
@@melanp4698 More like 99.999% of the time, but yeah
Life guards are fit!!
Austen, I love what you do in your videos! 👏
Congratulations to her for trying!!!
Great video Austin 😊
Hey, Austen! You probably never gonna read my comment, but I'm gonna post is anyway. Ever since I watched one of your videos a few months ago, I can't ignore it when you upload something new! I love your contents! So refreshing, so entertaining, and so fun! I love it! I love sports, but I have physical condition (because of a motorcycle accident) that makes me can't do much physical activities anymore. Low impact is all I can do, but I have to do it with caution too. I really miss being able to do high intensity workouts, watching your videos makes me miss them even more, yet cheer me up a little at the same time. Keep making videos, would you?
She a beast god bless
47 pushups is a fail? Meanwhile I cant even do one without breaking my every drop of my spine. Well done Girl! You passed in my book!! 👏👏
None of her push-ups would have counted if this was a real PT test. 50 push-ups are also only the minimum. You should be able to do at least 100 of them to realistically even have a shot at making it.
@@Fellow_Daoist Dude, she did this for fun. Also, 100 push ups after a while, not starting.
@@Fellow_Daoist Not many people get over 100 in the PST, I only did it once.
out of 47, maybe 10 qualified.
hell yeah!! so awesome!!🔥
I have never been subbed for some reason. I always watch your vids & i just now sub. the bell is now on💯🔥
Vídeo fresquinho. Happy to see a video that is not from 3 years ago
Austin head down to New Zealand one day to do a fitness session with the NZSAS squadron. Keep well from New Zealand 🇳🇿
Another great video…the humor is divine…how do you get people to join?
Tell me you don’t like it when someone blows on your face?😉🙋♀️
Austen more video's please you awesome
"I've got a job" love this lady
Video Suggestion: Bring someone who is out of standards, back in standards. Highlight the effects of those poor decisions made be it diet life style and make them into a complete unit. Find someone who got kicked out for not making weight or BCA, and train them. Find someone currently in the FEP Program and make them into someone they never thought they could be. I gotta be honest, im 17 years in and got on FEP and have been for over a year, my time is coming to an end, but i see a lot of young cats who just cant seem to find the motivation or the will power to get back in shape. Anyway, love the video's and love the motivation. PM me if you have any questions. Could be a series.
good job !!!!🤗
There is a lot of potential to work with in this lifeguard. She may not get to sof level but then again most of the military isn’t that. The military is purpose-built to task, threats and doctrine and She would do well in many areas.
Coral is such a Coral I love her 😭
She is strong 💪💯❤️
She was still impressive and had a lot of guts to attempt it!
She killed the swim tho 💪🏽
You should do a firefighter challenge course in turnout gear
first mwaha
Imagin in a couple of years they update these tests and u gonna do like the salmon ladder or something crazy like this
She’s a beast
Hello watching from CEBU Philippines 😊
Welcome!!
She is now ready for the draft.
Good job
You should try training with a Shaolin Monk next, and make a video on it!
This is crazy Coral was my Junior Lifeguard Instruction when I was 10-11 years old and her father and her coached our girls Highschool waterpolo team. I will never forget that one day during junior lifeguards she was talking to our class after a bouy swim when she paused looked into the distance and was able to catch multiple people in distress. She took off down the beach and swam out to them and pulled them back in with her lifeguard can. First time I witnessed a resuce.
I definitely doing this. She should of done flip turns in the swimming.
you should try the famous doko race of British Gurkha Armies pre recruitment selection process
I love how cheerful she is. Reminds me of myself. XD
For those who dont know, these are minimum standards. If you expect to be in the SEALs you need to blow these numbers out of the water.
Which you can if you train for it specifically.
which he mentioned at the end of the video
Austen, you should get an actual Navy SEAL to complete the screening test. It would be epic. Please do this, good sir!
There was no instructor screaming at you, " I didn't hear that one do it over" Over Over.... takes alot mentally! I tried in the Navy!
One thing to note. Even though they show the minimum as the bench marks. NO ONE gets in by doing the minimum.
She did really well, but she also looks pretty chill and not too worried about passing so I don’t think she pushed as hard as she could’ve
I saw a someone that looked exactly like Austen last month after the Hudson swim
Uhhh something got messed up on the swim… she was on lap 10 at 7:30 and finished 9 something ???? I think she did better or y’all counted her laps wrong
Or they put the wrong count in the video graphics ;)
You should see if David Goggins would do this!
In all fairness, I'd like to see SeALs take the basic ocean lifeguard physical test to get hired.
I did this test 14 yrs ago administered by Seals. My times: 8:13 swim, 105 push-ups, 80 sit-ups, 20 pull-ups, 9:55 run.
a length is going one direction in a pool, a lap is going there and back. ;)
something a little different than your usual...a reaction video (series) to the "SWCC: Making an Operator" videos, by US Navy Seal & SWCC YT channel
The swimming part she did well! That to me is really hard.
she is a lifeguard -- that is what she gets paid to do 🙂
that was the easiest part. The hardest was pull ups and push ups i can barely do 1.
She mentioned that she had never done that stroke before. As a swimmer, it would take a while to get it down smooth and efficient
Brother, i need more than one upload a month 🙏
Trying!! 😩
I Love It 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
you should do navy seal sniper training video
❤oh wow! Lifeguards now wear two pieces swimsuits!
Wait, is that Coral Kemp?! I know her!
She was close, with a bit of training she could pass it easily.
She's a mermaid with legs!!
0:31 - "I have 15 years of training every year" 😂
How a professional Tri-Athlete do with trying out for SEALS? Triathlons especially the IRONMAN world championship in Hawaii would so tough, the concentration and determination would be on par with SEAL Training I would think. Thoughts?
Thing is, Ironman athletes are super endurance machines. This test sits somewhere in between endurance and strength. An Olympic distance Triathlete would be a closer. Or a Decathlete. That might be interesting.
Hey @ AustenAlexander how do u sign up for these fitness challenges?
Im waiting for the green beret vid i believe my dad is one i think cause he does have a green beret
Nice
Respect Olympea America
Not bad at all for not even training for it. I could rip thru the whole thing other than the swimming I would need about a week to complete that
Hey Austen I posted a comment on your military working dog handler video just asking for some clarification on a lot of stuff I would be very grateful if you could help clear some stuff up or direct me to somebody because I am a marine Poole and my dream is to become a military working dog handler and I’m willing to do anything to make that happen thank you
🎉🎉
No not even close, more than half of all her pushups, sit-up,and pullups would not have been counted. She gave a great effort.
50 sit-ups is nothing compared to 47 push-ups
To be fair, you did it out of order. I administered the pst for spec ops hopefuls many times.
It wasn't out of order at all
Women often struggle with anything to do with arms and shoulders. Her running was a little weak due to low knee lift and short stride caused by thigh muscle not pushing hard enough. She could pass with practice but my never get 10 pull ups.
I’m sure if she incorporated more upper body weight training and pull ups she could get there. This is coming from another female who couldn’t do any pull ups and I can now currently do 8 clean ones. It just takes A LOT more work than it does for men but it’s possible.
In reality would she be able to do 10 pull ups after a couple months of training?
can u not do flip turns?
Thought you can't push off the wall?
I want to see a sea lion complete the navy seal screening
How can I sign up for one of these challenges?
I am curious as to the purpose of the cobat swimmer stroke? Is it to manage equipment?
It is to manage a panicked victim.
Where is the Special forces Video?
I am zero on the pull ups and the swimming. I can do the push ups, the sit ups and the run
I want to try the navy seal test
Sir plz try Indian Army test
What was running distance in Km
Is this the same running TIME ? , pull ups , push ups etc etc... for both men and women ?
If it's not, it should be. There's a bare minimum level of strength and endurance needed to the jobs we expect of Spec Ops. Letting candidates through who cannot fulfill those bare minimums is essentially dooming those teams to fail, because they are only as strong as their weakest link. The enemy isn't going to take it easy just because your country embraces political correctness.
@@theKashConnoisseur You watch too many movies man.
The requirements are 100% the same regardless of gender.
@@melanp4698 Do you often insult people you agree with, or is that only a behavior you choose while online?
@@theKashConnoisseur Insult? I guess it IS 2023 after all.
You just made it sound like they all have to be John Wick from day one. They're there to be trained, not start out being there. Women should be given no benefits whatsoever, but the top percentiles should still be able to get in.
