FYI, the common talking point of grocery stores only having 2-3% margins on average is actually a bit of a misnomer/misinformation that relies on most people not knowing that there are different types of margins that are calculated differently, so in reality the base margins for grocery stores is actually on average more like 20-25%
1:41:09 It's just bizarre they don't realize if someone isn't as chronically online as them, this shit just sounds like they're having a stroke. Imagine someone who's never used Twitter just randomly being asked, "What's a woman?" in the middle of a conversation. They'd be baffled. Sidenote: I think, perhaps optimistically, that "trigger the libs" type shit that's been the right's only tactic since gamergate has really worn out it's welcome. People aren't "triggered" anymore cause we've heard it all already, and when you don't have the "screeching lib" all you're left with is the guy saying stupid shit just to be offensive standing there with a gummy grin. The only thing our monkey brains find more repulsive than "unjustified" anger is cringe. And that's what's going on now, they've played out their shtick so much the tables have turned on them and to the average person they just look silly. I really hope Walz getting "weird" to be a thing so easily is some sort of death knell for the whole ragebait shit working on anyone, especially cause it seems they have no backup strategies.
I’m going to start the process of applying for IBEW membership this November! Really stoked about it, I’ve been an industrial service technician for years and I just don’t see this as a long term career. The benefits suck and I’m salaried without no overtime. Working conditions vary between the many facilities I work in but are often abysmal. Very hopeful about the IBEW.
The IBEW allowed my father (and uncles and cousins) to fulfill the American dream and provide for our family (and extended family). Wishing you the best of luck!
I hope someone already said this but Kamala doesn’t have a great track record with supporting trans people. When she was in CA she put people in the prison of the sex assigned at birth. So Emma needs to look further into that.
AG doesn't make the laws the State government does. You have nothing so you just blame her for the decision of politicians and judges most of whom were white men.
whats so bizarre is people dont realize american dollars were and are invented/printed by america. the deficit isnt a factor in anything. we can delete it whenever we want
That was a shockingly good answer from her to that bs question. I gotta give her credit she's showing herself to be a significantly better politician than I initially thought during the 2019 primary
Just because I don’t have time to “organize, knock on doors, make phone calls” doesn’t mean I don’t have the right to criticize. I have to work all the time. Take care of my dementia rattled mother the rest of the time.
She is though. Not harsh just observing her actions and words. Sam said it too, she’s taking the Bernie sanders route so she can become more than just a congresswoman.
@thegooberreview7674 Bernie Sanders was just on a podcast with a pretty large viewer base that's apolitical, essentially explaining Marxism to a couple million people. Idk if he's moved from the left lol
@@eilis1969 and she should be. She's hugely inspiring and a breath of fresh air and has both opened the door for gen y and z, while raising the game for boomers in the house to use social media to connect and bring realism into the discourse. She lifted the curtain in a big way.
@@Fog_raw you think he’s gotten to the position he’s in today by just being a devout socialist? No. He made compromises and political decisions along the way.
It seems like there are two linked common interest tragedies going on-or, lay least, actual patterns of events make it appear as if two are going on. One the one hand, there is the need to really build pervasive and and deep coalitions at the local level of politics to win municipal and even state elections. This is helped by a movement but it really takes time and concerted effort to translate into political inroads. However, that translation too often requires recognizable, and transcendent wins to serve as motivation and even proof of concept to populations to engage in the necessary participation. Otherwise, shirking is more likely (and too often exclusively lazier forms of political participation through voting for given choices and commentating on podcasts, message boards etc.) But when one thinks of transcendent wins, one thinks of national politics. To win national office-and sustain and grow representation-one needs a long lasting base of support, i.e., those that are grown at a ground and local level up. Otherwise, the incentive structure will make politicians more reluctant to support positions that are at odds the status quo or to do so too often (even when there are other good reasons to do so). Even if the most ardent, ideologue will-without such a base-be voted out more quickly on average, with more status quo aligned politicians taking their place. A second tragedy. Notice that solving each of these tragedies would help solve the other and not solving one leaves the other without a satisfying solution (they are mutually dependent). This is taken over the large run of cases (insofar as there are exceptions to every social rule), but it does seem to leave our political environment, on the whole, ill equipped to turn into progressive politics. It may be that slow, demographic shifts will overwhelm the background against which these problems are framed and so eventually dissolve the tragedies. However, I fear that it will be too late to pursue some avenues for dealing with the problems that confront us (e.g., climate change).
Always amazed how east coast ppl are enthralled w AOC. She tried expanding outside NYC and it didn’t take for a reason. She’s such a mediocre politician.
I'm from California and live overseas (even further left coast) and am a major AOC supporter. She is hugely inspiring to so many. Understandable she has a NYC focus as that is her beginning and her job to represent.
I say we threaten to vote 3rd party if no ceasefire is achieved before the election. Then, anyone in a securely blue or red state should vote 3rd party anyways.
Here Emma Goes, her takes are so bad and her hatered for Hillary and anyone that doesn’t 100% fit her little bubble is bad or horrible. That’s why I don’t listen on Thursdays
Do you think that hating Hillary is something unique to Emma in this audience? That’s the only concrete example you gave, so I’m not sure what else you’re referring to.
