    This trail to me is one of the harder burst hills in this area

    • @huntstyle
      @huntstyle  5 лет назад +1

      There are some tough sections. Northshore west is harder, though.

      Huntstyle yeah just like here. Punchy climbs and enough rocks for techy stuff. They are building a bike park in Bandera close by.

      Too bad Big Cedar is a shadow of its former self from years past...good trail but it was incredible back when Oscar was running it and before the land battles began.

    • @TMAN882

      Big Cedar is still not its former glory but definitely coming back. It is in great shape now and I enjoy riding it. It and Sansom keep me from getting bored.

    If your ever get a chance to be in the area again... You should give Boulder Park a try... It's about 3 miles from there... I think you'd really enjoy it. Has nice trails that are marked off well... unlike OCNP which I kept getting lost in.

    • @huntstyle
      @huntstyle  6 лет назад

      Boulder is on my list! I don't get down that way too often, since it's about a 40 minute drive.

    • @TofuCakeCan
      @TofuCakeCan 6 лет назад +1

      Boulder is definitely good, but more physically demanding than OCNP. Given the choice between the two, I think I'd pick OCNP over Boulder. I feel like OCNP emphasizes fun more, while Boulder has more "test your might" moments.

    Don’t know if you’ve been back since this vid but they built a jump line in the red trail recently. I haven’t hit it cause it’s way above my skill level lol but it looks like a lot of fun

    What frame rate do you use on your gopro?, it looks very smooth

    • @huntstyle
      @huntstyle  5 лет назад +1

      This one was filmed at 30 fps. Recently I've switched to 24 fps, and set the max shutter speed at 1/60. This video probably looks smoother due to a low shutter speed, because it wasn't very bright out. That's the key!

    yo this looks like a cool trail. how do you like it versus north shore?

    • @huntstyle
      @huntstyle  6 лет назад

      Northshore has more fun sections. But OCNP has some grueling climbs, making it good for a workout! It's a good change of pace every now and then.

    Got out to OCNP today... First ride since early December b/c all the wet soil and closed trails. So happy DFW has this faster drying option. As another noted, I was constantly lost on trail. Just getting started so fiitness limited me to white, yellow, orange and half of red. Great way to spend a sunny Thursday. Am subscribed now. 👍

    • @huntstyle
      @huntstyle  6 лет назад

      Thanks John! Glad you got out there to enjoy it! I have to wait for the weekend. Good call on skipping blue & purple, those are pretty physically demanding! Lots of ups & downs.

    well done bud, um, can you tag up DORBA in your description.

  • @TofuCakeCan
    @TofuCakeCan 6 лет назад

    I love me some OCNP. They did just the right job out there of making it super fun and just challenging enough, not like SOME DFW TRAILS we know (cough cough) SANSOM! (cough cough cough)....
    I'm surprised you just glazed over that Whiskey Creek crossing though. Every time i come up to it i'm just "HOLY SHIT! I'm supposed to bike through this?" But I guess I need to start taking the left line through (I've always taken the right line)....
    Now do a video of OCNP on a limebike ;p

    • @huntstyle
      @huntstyle  6 лет назад

      What about the middle line? ;) I was thinking about trying it, but not ready to risk it having just come off injury. I don't remember if I ever went right.
      Haha, after the fact I felt like I missed an opportunity there to do some video riding the limebike, hahaha!

    • @TofuCakeCan
      @TofuCakeCan 6 лет назад

      EHH, forget the middle line, just bunnyhop across the entire creek crossing... It's doable ;p That creek crossing is the only place i've found in DFW (so far) where I feel like i HAVE TO slam my seat down.
      You mentioned the short bursts of speed in your vid. Have you been to Cedar Hill State Park yet?

    • @huntstyle
      @huntstyle  6 лет назад

      Not yet. Gonna get to all of them eventually. I've gotten stuck on Northshore and just go there all the time since it's fun & only 15 minutes away! But I do want to hit up every single trail!

    • @TofuCakeCan
      @TofuCakeCan 6 лет назад

      CHSP is a lot like NS east. Not a technically demanding trail, but you get to spend lots of time flowing downhill.
      Lucky you, living close to NS. I'm out in West FW, and Sansom is my closest trail :( NS takes me an hour to get to because of it's location. I even work on the south side of lake Grapevine and it's still 30 mins away.

    • @huntstyle
      @huntstyle  6 лет назад

      Sounds like fun! And yeah, that's the thing that sucks is you have to go all the way around the lake if you're coming from the southwest.

  • @ChrisCXK

    I like the look of Dallas trails, they dont seem to 100% rock fests. Those sped up climbing clips sounded like Mickey Mouse porn haha.

    • @huntstyle
      @huntstyle  6 лет назад

      Hahahaha! I figured I'd still show some of the climbs so you get a good feel for the trail, but speed it up so it's not boring! Yeah, we've got a good variety of trails around here. From rocks, to hardpack, to sand!
