Here is my observation as someone who stands at a tad 6'1" who been visiting China since 1998. I would range them by men and age.50-60+ around 5'5" and 5'7" being tall. 35-49 age range is around 5'6"-5'8" being tall. 23-34 age range is around 5'7.5"-5"9. I believe this grouping to be the most common. 16-22 year old are very tall in China. I think many are 5'9-6'0" and some well over.

I think the guys who claimed 6ft 3 and 6ft 4 are not far off. If the interviewer is 6ft 2, the 6ft 3 guy looked a bit taller and you can tell the 6ft 4 guy was taller. It's just that the camera is closer to the interviewer, so they look more equal in height. Though, probably 6ft 2.5 and 6ft 3.5 in height.
Most of the guyz exaggerate their height by 1 or 1.5 inches and most of the people measures height with shoes.. Because I my experience whenever I asked anyone about his or her height I felt 90% of them exaggerated.

Maybe I'm an exception. I'm 5'7" and my wife is 5'9 1/2". In heels she's 6'3". Of course she's a model. After 15+ years, we visited her hometown in Canton. Men went crazy followed her and her girlfriends around. At home, I never tried to compete with guys chasing her. All I did was fix the flat tire on her car. The rest is history!

Don’t. If it’s strictly height that’s the issue then life shouldn’t be tough at all. There’s someone it there for everybody. Don’t bring yourself down because a couple girls (or boys, I ain’t judging here) want someone tall. If they don’t like your height well then they ain’t the one for you anyway. If anything, it makes it easier for you to find the right one.
If ur north area ethnicity(north asian, european, american). 170cm is enough in asian. But if you are south ethnicity like southeast asian...... It is atragedy.

My experience as a white American man is that the southern Chinese are shorter then us white Americans on average but their young adult population is equal to us on average for male height at 175 cm. The northern Chinese are taller then us white American men on average in my experience as well. Chinese are far from short. Hell read on the web that Chinese women from Shandong average 170 cm.
Most of the Chinese Americans look more like southeast Asians then the Chinese that I see on vacation that come from northern China or much of China which is largely Han from what I read in China for ethnicity. In the USA lots of Zhuang and Hmong Chinese with them looking closer to Thai, Vietnamese, Laos etc in facial features and skin color. A Cambodian coworker that I work with told me that Chinatown Philadelphia is mostly of these Chinese minority ethnic groups, especially Zhuang and Hmong plus plenty of Vietnamese and Thai live in Chinatown Philadelphia as well from what she told myself. Maybe that is why many European Americans get the impression that Chinese are shorter on average then European Americans because southeast Asians are on average noticeably shorter than Europeans and European Americans. Then when we do see Han Chinese from time to time on vacation in the USA we notice alot of tall Asians and not just tall but light in skin color often lighter then us European Americans.

Just recently here in the USA have seen the tallest height people that I have ever seen and they made us European Americans look like midgets or Hobbits from the Lord of the Rings movies. They were extremely dark skin people or darker on average then a large majority of African Americans. Many of us European Americans were fascinated by their height and asked to take a picture with some of them. After talking to them, there were several dozen of them, found out that they are from the South Sudan in Africa and call themselves Dinka. They were on vacation in the USA. Seemed like most men were over 190 cm or 6'4" or taller with some over 200 cm or over 6'7". The women looked mostly over 180 cm with several over 190 cm. These Dinka are crazy tall. They said other African populations are nearly as tall as the Dinka. Africa from what I hear also has the shortest population as well called the Pygmy. With people like the Dinka to people like the Pygmy, Africa is very unique with height. Plus lots of different brown skin color as well with a very light brown skin color with some African populations to very dark brown skin color with other African populations. There are even some African populations with natural blue and light colored eyes and some with natural red and blonde colored hair. Africans are very unique. Us European people and Asian people haven't seen alot of these different ethnicities within Africa in their 54 countries. Each country has a variety of different African populations.

Depends which region. There arr many 6ft guys in northern China while that is not true in southern china

In China, northern part you get to see a lot of tall guys. In south part, guys are normally shorter. Same goes for women.

I hope everyone understands that this is just like racism. You can't control what colour skin you were born with, you can't control what your face looks like and you can't control how tall you are. Judging people's worth based on any of these things is disgraceful and you should feel ashamed if you do.
Height cannot even come close to having the same impacts as racism. Most likely, height will not cause generational trauma, political systems to work against you, or oppress you to the point of not being able to have rights solely due to the color of your skin.

Just recently here in the USA have seen the tallest height people that I have ever seen and they made us European Americans look like midgets or Hobbits from the Lord of the Rings movies. They were extremely dark skin people or darker on average then a large majority of African Americans. Many of us European Americans were fascinated by their height and asked to take a picture with some of them. After talking to them, there were several dozen of them, found out that they are from the South Sudan in Africa and call themselves Dinka. They were on vacation in the USA. Seemed like most men were over 190 cm or 6'4" or taller with some over 200 cm or over 6'7". The women looked mostly over 180 cm with several over 190 cm. These Dinka are crazy tall. They said other African populations are nearly as tall as the Dinka. Africa from what I hear also has the shortest population as well called the Pygmy. With people like the Dinka to people like the Pygmy, Africa is very unique with height. Plus lots of different brown skin color as well with a very light brown skin color with some African populations to very dark brown skin color with other African populations. There are even some African populations with natural blue and light colored eyes and some with natural red and blonde colored hair. Africans are very unique. Us European people and Asian people haven't seen alot of these different ethnicities within Africa in their 54 countries. Each country has a variety of different African populations.

In my high school in Beijing, boys at the age of 18 is 5’10” on average according to our school doctor’s data. I’m about 5’11” technically above average but not noticeable. 6’ and above is still considered good.
