I had to look him up, but apparently Kurt Thomas, the protagonist of this movie, was a serious competitor in Gymnastics. He won many gold medals and had a pommel horse routine that was named after him and was one of his signature moves. (As you could likely guess lol) He was 5 feet, 5 inches tall. No one ever talks about the funniest part of the movie. The Asian guy that gets choked out with the belt with that Richard Pryor soundbyte. "Kiss my ass!" 😂😂🤣 LEGENDARY!!
Here's an interesting thought: The premise of this movie is essentially that gymnastic movement translates well into impressive theatrical combat (regardless of how realistically effective it might be); we can say with a degree of certainty that this was what the person responsible for this movie was thinking of when they came up with the idea. My proposition is this: how much easier would it be for an audience to suspend their disbelief if the term 'gymkata' is never introduced to the film? Think about it; once you see or hear the word, you know and are expecting to see the protagonist use conventional gymnastics in an unrealistic fight scene. It instantly becomes comedic. What if they NEVER introduce the hero as a gymnast; what if they NEVER use the stupid word 'gymkata' - which just begs mockery on the face of it; what if it's just a silly martial arts film - where there just happen to be a facsimile of a pommel horse in the middle of a mob lynching? Granted, it's still stupid. But is it more of a thriller and less of a comedy?
This chair set up looks like that meme where that girls on a couch and a bunch of dudes are standing behind her.(you know which meme I’m talking about)
As someone pointed out at 14:26 that is Richard Norton, he has worked with a lot of martial artists including Jackie Chan. He was in City Hunter, and Mr. Nice Guy, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star In fact a couple of the movies he starred in whould be right up this channel's alley.
In case you are wondering, Bad Dragon makes Adult Only Weapons. LIke the one shown in the shadow. You should check it out people. Make sure you are at work or sitting down with the family though.
Fyi. Kurt Thomas was an 6 medal World Artistic olympic gymnast. He and his wife ran a gymnastics school .He died in June 2020 due to a stroke at 64 years 😔
The Gibbs dude is Richard Norton who was pretty famous for being the 'American Bad Guy' in a lot of asian martial arts flicks, including Jackie Chan's City Hunter (along with Gary Daniels, another one of those 'I know that dude!' dudes who's usually in these kinds of flicks.) City Hunter is good bad and recommended.

Guy who has cross bow and 70's look is Richard Norton he play in lot action movies and did stunt Choreography I'n 80's and 90's b movies work alot whit Cynthia Rothrock!

The breakdance move Kurt Thomas does on the pommel horse is a flare, which breakdance borrowed from gymnastics. The original name of the move is called the Thomas, named after the guy who created the move. I'm sure you can connect the rest of the dots.
The 70's guy is Richard Norton. Martial arts actor, was in the octagon with chuck norris and Shangai express with Jackie chan. Love the content you guys provide.
God bless you, guys. I've been looking for the name of this film for months! All I could remember from seeing it as a teenager is that it was a lot like "The Most Dangerous Game," and that the setting looked vaguely like Caucasus.
If you're really that interested in what the "Barry Gibb" guy with the feathered has been in, he was also in City Hunter with Jackie Chan. Which is another truly great good bad film that I know you guys would really love. By the way, the actor's name is Richard Norton.
You are wright, the movie is totaly bonkers, but making fun of Kurt Thomas' side horse moves is not fair. He literally invented those moves in the 80s. He was the very first doing them and they are still in use and even named after him. So be fair and give him at least the respect he deserves for his gymnastics achievements - and btw - I hate gymnastics, but this dude was awesome and missed his olympic gold medal just because Jimmy Carter ordered an US boykott of the 1980s games in Moscow.

Self aware women are the best Jason. Seems you got a good one and vice versa man. You know I can't watch a video without pausing it to leave 10 different comments. But hey, engagement helps channels grow, so it's why i leave multiple comments on videos I enjoy vs one long one I type out as I watch. Also was a great day to see a few new videos from some of my fav channels today. OUt of those, your video is the best so far. Dealing with some really negative shit IRL right now so this is a nice break from that stress.
That was her joke... I just added to it. I appreciate you always hanging with us. Means a lot.
And I'm sorry to hear about your negative crap. Hope things improve, man.
No one ever talks about the funniest part of the movie. The Asian guy that gets choked out with the belt with that Richard Pryor soundbyte. "Kiss my ass!" 😂😂🤣 LEGENDARY!!
🤣
Here's an interesting thought:
The premise of this movie is essentially that gymnastic movement translates well into impressive theatrical combat (regardless of how realistically effective it might be); we can say with a degree of certainty that this was what the person responsible for this movie was thinking of when they came up with the idea.
That's an interesting though. I'd probably struggle with the pommel horse no matter what they did 🤣 That's just hilarious.
@@JasonBrant Pommel horse + secret ninja training = pummel horse.
Then you'd have a classic martial arts movie. Those actors are all gymnasts.
God, I remember watching this as a teenager. It was on late night tv in the UK. It's one of those films that just left me scratching my head...
This chair set up looks like that meme where that girls on a couch and a bunch of dudes are standing behind her.(you know which meme I’m talking about)
🤣
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!
Oh the fun of rewatching old episodes!
As someone pointed out at 14:26 that is Richard Norton, he has worked with a lot of martial artists including Jackie Chan.
He was in City Hunter, and Mr. Nice Guy, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star
In fact a couple of the movies he starred in whould be right up this channel's alley.
Bad Dragon hand off at the 19:35 mark. Look it up. 18 and over
In case you are wondering, Bad Dragon makes Adult Only Weapons. LIke the one shown in the shadow. You should check it out people. Make sure you are at work or sitting down with the family though.
🤣 🤣
One of the best so many great moments in the movie and in the commentary.
I love how everyone was here for this absolute classic
Omg I saw this movie when I was in my teens. You guys had me crackle up watching this. Love your channel brings back memories.
Lol having all four of you for this one was awesome. Much appreciated
Thanks!
The guy that took the arrow to the gut and the guy falling with the gun going off was awesome.
So damn good.
Fyi.
Kurt Thomas was an 6 medal World Artistic olympic gymnast.
He and his wife ran a gymnastics school .He died in June 2020 due to a stroke at 64 years 😔
RIP
Dave's reaction when he calls him dad killed me
I'm so Happy you have decided to put all 4 on the screen. I hope to see a few more videos in the future with everybody on the show.
Gonna be a bit, but I'm sure we'll do it again!
The Gibbs dude is Richard Norton who was pretty famous for being the 'American Bad Guy' in a lot of asian martial arts flicks, including Jackie Chan's City Hunter (along with Gary Daniels, another one of those 'I know that dude!' dudes who's usually in these kinds of flicks.)
City Hunter is good bad and recommended.
Also "Five mile run through a swamp, what do you get?" The answer: Swamp ass.
🤣 🤣 Nice. I'll check out City Hunter.
Love seeing the whole gang here (and off-camera Pam of course)
Oh yeah! Saw the post you were doing this one. Looking forward to watching it!
Thanks again Jason, get well soon man.
Thanks so much, bud.
Calling a country Parmesan is soooo cheesy. Hope your feeling better soon. Love the vids. Cheers
🤣 Thanks!
I found this channel a few weeks ago and this is the first time i ever turned on notifications for a channel. Everybody involved in this is great. Even off cam Pam lol
Off cam Pam is such a great name! We might have to use that.
I'm so glad you got everyone together
Me too!
Captain 80s says, "Kneel before Zod!!!" LMAO!!! 🤣🤣🤣
🤣
Guy who has cross bow and 70's look is Richard Norton he play in lot action movies and did stunt Choreography I'n 80's and 90's b movies work alot whit Cynthia Rothrock!
I need to watch more of his movies, especially if they're with Rothrock.
@@JasonBrant he was in china o'brien 1&2 and rage and honor 1&2 whit Cynthia rothrock! And few more
If you have a bad movie, if no one else can stand to watch it, and if you can't find movies so bad they're good, maybe you can hire... The B-Team!
You guys are hilarious and tons of fun. I found your channel a couple of weeks ago and I've been binge watching it to death!
Thanks so much! Glad to have you with us!
The breakdance move Kurt Thomas does on the pommel horse is a flare, which breakdance borrowed from gymnastics. The original name of the move is called the Thomas, named after the guy who created the move. I'm sure you can connect the rest of the dots.
Literally the best movie you never knew you wanted
The 70's guy is Richard Norton. Martial arts actor, was in the octagon with chuck norris and Shangai express with Jackie chan. Love the content you guys provide.
Thanks. Looking forward to more from Richard Norton.
Haha Dave’s laugh is freaking contagious
It is!
GOD you guyz (& Galz [
😂😂 this channel popped on my feed a couple weeks ago. Absolutely love it. Watched countless videos !!! Got a new SUBSCRIBER!!🤘🏻
God bless you, guys. I've been looking for the name of this film for months! All I could remember from seeing it as a teenager is that it was a lot like "The Most Dangerous Game," and that the setting looked vaguely like Caucasus.
Knowing is half the battle.
At 26:25 he hits that move that King does off of tekken 😆
🤣
If you're really that interested in what the "Barry Gibb" guy with the feathered has been in, he was also in City Hunter with Jackie Chan. Which is another truly great good bad film that I know you guys would really love. By the way, the actor's name is Richard Norton.
Also great to see all four of you in this one! Been loving your channel!
Awesome! Thank you!
Another magic episode!!! Hope you and the Tall One are both healthy and well asap! Looking forward to the next episode with the whole clan
Thanks so much! Been a rough week, but we're almost through it.
YES! you did Gymkata! I saw this in the theater when released. So very bad it's good. Or as I say... it didn't suck
Would have loved to see this in the theater.
