As a few online reviewers of Bad Movies have said, "It doesn't matter if a movie is considered 'Good' or 'Bad.' The worst thing a movie can be is forgetable. If you see a movie, and can't remember anything that happened in it after you saw it? Those are truly bad movies."
Erin and the taco miscommunication was hilarious. This film was nuts. Glad I got to watch it and your reactions. I thought that guy with the beard looked fake but it wasn't until you said it was Gene that I saw why haha.
I love this channel. If you want another movie with Gene Simmons as the villain I recommend Runaway. It stars Tom Selleck as a cop that investigates crimes involving robots. Gene Simmoms plays a sleazy businessman in that and he's just as good (bad?) as he is in this. Keep up the good work.
@@starsiegeplayer Quite a few of the movies they react to here aren't bad but they fit a certain criteria of being cheesy AF for the most part which adds to their charm. Runaway definitely fits that bill even though I do enjoy that film a lot.
I have a full-body shot of Gene as Velvet Von Ragnar which he autographed for me during KISS Kruise XI. He beamed from ear to ear on what a smoking hot babe he was in that photo and showed it off to everyone in the room. I’ve also got at least four rave reviews from that movie in my collection. One of them goes thusly, “Velvet Von Ragnar - one of the all-time badass bad girls of the 1980s. So what if she just happens to be a he?”
This was the start of John Stamos, the peak of Vanity, and a very troubling time in the career of Gene Simmons. KISS took a different turn, lost the makeup for a bit there, and Gene was lost until the late '80s. It's hard to believe he doesn't drink or do drugs after watching this.
This is the kind of movie an actor would make after being in a cheesy, family friendly sitcom to try and shed the squeaky clean image but John made this before which is actually pretty cool.
I can’t believe it took y’all that long to figure out Chuck Norris was Gene Simmons… Fun Facts: The movie was intended as the starting point for a "Son of Bond"-type film series. It not only bombed at the box-office, but was shunned by its own co-star, Gene Simmons. Years later, when a fan recognized him as "Velvet Von Ragnar", Simmons exclaimed "Don't tell me you SAW that thing!" The hermaphrodite angle was a later addition to the script. Whenever a fan compliments Gene Simmons on this movie, he's been known to respond, "You are too kind. I sucked in that movie." John Stamos took gymnastic lessons for his role as Lance Stargrove. The costume Gene Simmons wears for his nightclub act, is actually the same costume that Lynda Carter wore for her 1980 television special ENCORE!, in which she tried to look like a member of the band KISS while singing "I Was Made for Loving You". Some of the lyrics from Simmons' nightclub act scene would later show up in "Spit," a song from the 1992 Kiss album "Revenge." Velvet Von Ragner's band in the club scene was made up of actual transvestites who gave Gene Simmons pointers on how to play Ragner. Movie was shot in 35 days. Gene Simmons had to shave and wax his chest for his role as Velvet Von Ragner. This movie was stuck in obscurity for at least 20 years and VHS copies were very hard to find. In 2017, Shout! Factory bought the rights to it and gave it new life, releasing it on Blu-ray and Prime Video. Steve Carver was originally slated to direct this movie.

Thanks, Tristan!

Erin's scream is awesome!!! And as always the review is perfect!!!

You can see the spacers.
They used the same trick for the second fast and furious movie.
Glad you were able to finally post this treasure. However, I don't think I'll be able to watch Full House or a Kiss concert quite the same ever again.
Omg, talk or burn or burnt tacos…perhaps one of the greatest miscommunications of So Bad It’s Good commentary ever!!!
While this came before it I did love the "James Bond Jr." cartoon in the early 90's and since we never got an official live action, this and "If Looks Could Kill" was always my live action James Bond Jr. movies and i LOVED both of them :)
"taco burn" - best misheard line ever. - And I heard exactly this. Laughing hard. - Great session right here.
The reference to Ruffio was spot-on. Now I have to go make a therapy appointment to block Ruffio out again.
oOoOO a Friday video. I was bored at work and you gifted me this. Thank you.
Hope you enjoyed it!
@@JasonBrant I did Nostrabrantus I hope you had a good laugh editing the burnt taco bit.
Loved this episode. Laughed my ass off a few times so thanks for that. Absolutely ridiculous movie. keep up the good work.
I cant believe it was gene simmons
815 in Alaska, coffee and dabs ready, let's do this!!!!
Gene played good villain roles. He was also the bad guy in Runaway with Tom Selleck which you guys have watched on the channel.
I grew up with KISS, but I don't care much for Gene Simmons' political or philosophical views. Still, I have a new respect for him here, he makes an excellent comic book villain.
When i saw "Gene Simmons" in the title, i was really thinking it would be that movie with Tom Selleck (Runaway, i think?), but then John Stamos and Vanity? Man, i'm down for it!
No way you are covering my favorite movie when I was a kid. Thank you guys
Hey you got sponsored y’all that’s fucking awesome. So cool to have seen this channel grow y’all definitely deserve it.
I've seen a ton of SBIG videos and just realized I should create a playlist of one's that got the stamps. Dope!
This movie looks fun and absolutely nuts. Must be nice being extraordinarily good looking and being cast from crazy movies like this to cheesy, squeaky clean sitcoms. Stamos is a lucky guy.
I would like to have been sitting in on the meeting with the people who thought this movie was a good idea.
"We need a bad guy"
"Transvestite Gene Simmons?"
"Genius!"
This one made my day! The taco bit was priceless, the movie was ridiculous, and from the second you called attention to beard guy as being Gene I was with you Jason. Now I'm ready to start my garbage day at work...at least it will start with a smile. Thank you all! HUUUUUURRRRRRRR!!!!!!
I had also only seen Stamos in Full House. I do remember him in the video for Kokomo with the Beach Boys though lmao.
Gene Simmons as a hermaphrodite. I'm sold! Great review as usual gang.
It’s so cool how fast I’m seeing this channel grow, it’s too sweeeeet!!!
You showed the picture of lightning from big trouble in Big Trouble in Little China but rain was the one with long hair in that movie which is the same actor in the Stamos movie.
All right! Finally you get to show this astonishing trainwreck!
Ridiculously insane! Sometimes alternating goofy/cringy! Loved it. Glad no tacos were harmed.
@ Jason Brant. You guys always get me laughing. Especially Erin, her smile and laugh is infectious. Makes me start smiling and laughing too. Thanks Jason for your content. It’s great watching you guys critique and making me laugh along with you.
A video on Friday, thank you my lord.
My pleasure 🤣
