How's the exhaust? Is it super loud compared to exhaust like the mxp or n2? Some people said it sounded a little ricey as well. Clerance issues and drone?
I'm loving this exhaust right now. Have not heard the N2 in person so can not really compare (that was the other exhaust I was looking to go with) This is one of the deeper sounding exhausts I've come across though, wouldn't say it sounds ricey at all but each has their own tone they like. little bit of drone, I have a HKS front pipe as well. not really clearance issues. I think i have only scraped like twice lol
@@dashikim8578 i need to hear this! I have Tomie UEL, Tomie over pipe and invidia resonated front pipe with a custom Quad tip. But I want to change it up and go single exit, but afraid its going to be so loud.
yea I think your fine if you get a catback, I'm not 100 percent on this, but I think I read somewhere the axle back on the 17 and up flange is angled slightly different so axle backs are different but cat back is same.
Man I'm about to pull the trigger on either the HKS or the Tanabe concept G and I'm having a very hard time. I want something with a deep tone but not over the top loud. If you heard both pls I need your feedback.
@@oneSMALLgarage cool, after some digging I think I might do the HKS Dual front pipe. It seems like the best bet to add a bit of sound while still keeping the deep non raspy tone. Thanks man
I went with HKS as well since they were the only one to offer a dual resonated front pipe. I was going single exit 3 inch, I needed all I could get haha.
@@oneSMALLgarage i really wanted to keep the exhaust setup to one brand but I couldn’t find any sound clips with the “hiflow cat” version.. only cattless with a loud N1 or if I did find a catted front pipe it was always paired with EL headers etc. lol I think dual resonators would be the best option to keep a low rumble
Go over speed bumps all the time, haven't scraped anything yet, scrape the skid plate more up front. Lowest point on the exhaust is when it goes under the axle and I have about 3 1/4 inches of clearance there.
I was going to go invidia N2 but they were on backorder for a while. (I looked up exhaust videos for weeks haha) It does hang a little on the low side so if you are pretty low I would just just be cautious of that. The tone on this guy is super nice though, really throaty with no rasp. Can't beat it and for half the price of other exhausts lol
@@oneSMALLgarage yeh I been waiting forever to see if anyone upload new videos of the hks exhaust and finally came across your video. Yea that's what I noticed at well so tried to get a decent video out... are you in northern or southern cali? This exhaust has some pops as well but nothing to crazy. It feels like cops are on it with the exhaust more in the south but I could be wrong.
@@sofakingist just a HKS front pipe and HKS single exit right now. it does have some drone (cold start is a bit brutal) but idle and normal driving is nice. like no rasp at all. pretty deep with some nice pops here and there :)
@@oneSMALLgarage yeah I like how it has that slight growl to it. I myself want to get an equal length header. Whatever I go with probably won't sound like this unless I play around with maybe mid muffler location and the muffler type itself
Most likely will go UEL for the rumble and sounds less raspy from videos I have watched. Need to hear it in person to be sure. OFT is on the list before a header though.
I’ve watched this about ten times because I love how it sounds so much
Sounds really good ! Loud enough but not over the top.
Obligatory "I know this is old" but what camera was used to record the Exhuast and POV without any wind resistance sound?
Have two videos you can check out if you want to get a jist of what it sounds like with a UEL header.
Probably like every other Subaru with UELs?

oneSMALLgarage oh so this
Is paired with an hks front pipe. That’s probably why there isn’t crazy drone. Sounds good 🤤
@@BryanSoyinthisane Thanks! 😄
Get the open flash header it's nice. Sounds great
I would like to do a header but I feel I will for sure get popped if I do haha.
I ended up getting the same exhaust, loud with my set up lol
Tomei uel header, hks fp, op, and oft
You have any clips? Very tempted to see how the Tomei sounds with it Haha, I've watched the HKS video enough but need some others lol
If you go to my Instagram page , I have a video there, 5th post. --> 90frs

i bought one!! waiting for the shipment
I literally had this setup for the same car. Your ears will begin to bleed if you use this car daily around town in stop and go traffic
I had a civic with quite literally NO exhaust. This is nothing XD

should it fit all the same? Got the 2017 86 and really hopeful to buy it.

I have not head the other in person sorry. This one is pretty brutal on cold starts, around town is nice, has a mini drone on freeway.
I hope you bought tanabe. The hks drones so bad, I recorded 103 dB in the cockpit on the freeway
@@tumsfestival8027 I did actually get the Tanabi and I'm loving it.

Na not at all. With all the loud ass mustangs and camaro’s, this sounded quiet to those haha.

yes and has a little secondary one as well in the mid pipe
