As a Michigan fan, when ND fans try to razz me about the Appalachain State loss, I point to this game. Congrats, you lost 38-0 to the team that lost to App State!
What people forget is that App State was a powerhouse FCS school. If I’m not mistaken they had won national titles. Should we still have won? Yes. But it’s not like they were a horrible team
This is one of 2 games I ever had to miss as an undergrad holding season tickets. (I was attending a wedding.) I scalped my ticket to a grateful alum for more than the price of the entire season. Clearly I didn't miss much of a competitive game, but it's nice that highlights exist! (I have a lot more FOMO for the fact that I wasn't around or able to get tickets for The Game this year. I've been watching highlights consistently for the past 2 months...)
Just sharing a story or two, I've been going since October 23rd,1993. And the last 5 years, I've seen the Wolverines quite a few times, including every single one of "The Game ". 11/27/21 was definitely my favorite Michigan football moment for sure! Front row seat in the North end zone and rushed the field afterwards. You definitely should get back to Ann Arbor, especially for "The Game ".
Michigan really took ND out to the shed and gave em a beating this day. The bus leaked green and gold the whole way back to South Bend. Must have been a long, quite bus ride outta Ann Arbor. The Michigan/ND rivalry has been better than Michigan/Ohio State because these games have been competitive. Actually they've been flat-out exhilirating. I don't miss a Michigan game, but especially UM/OSU, UM/ND and UM/MSU. Michigan State vs Notre Dame is always a good game too
Luckily, I was able to tape the game the following day when it reaired. I missed it live since I was at the wedding of a friend of mine. The following week, I missed the Penn State game because of ANOTHER wedding for a childhood friend of. People getting married during football season...is there anything more evil?
Honestly, I'd say 2007. Only because Mike Hart said they would win, and let's face it, the two loses the first 2 weeks were pretty bad and it really could have gotten worse.....oh wait! It did.....I forgot Rich Rodriguez was on the horizon.....my bad. Tough thinking about past Michigan football seasons, especially after 11/27/21....42-27......2021 BIG 10 Champs!
After those two games I was like "this can't be happening!" After this game I knew we were on the right track. I hate notre dame almost as much as I hate OSU. I hope we win next week.

Notre Dame was a much better team than they were in 2007.
But in the end, I can't complain with either.

No. Hoke was coaching at Ball State in 07.
Great you were able to source this off a reair on Big Ten Network so that it doesn't have the ESPN crawl at the bottom.
We'll see.
On a serious note I hope the game is competitive. The last 3 games have been blowouts.

i like to remind notre dame fans about this game
Just what we needed to get he stench of those Appalachian State and Oregon losses.
Which was more impressive- Michigan routing Notre Dame in 2003 or 2007?
I can't pick. They're both awesome

Who else is here after finding out Russell Crowe gave a "Gladiator" type of pregame speech before the game.
this years ND is not 07 ND. This game is gonna be a lot different this year.
RIP Mallet
i still like 2006 more than those two
That Notre Dame team looked soft, unprepared, and disorganized.
