Consider making one in Alan Wake. It's a linear game but originally it was designed as open world. There is a free camera very easy to set and there are tons of roads that lead to nowhere and buildings
Really? Well that explains why some of the areas felt weirdly designed, and how you could so often not just see an unusual amount of unreachable scenery, but that scenery appeared more detailed and realized than typical background filler. Not to mention that the whole game just felt like it wanted to be a lot more than it was. I didn't much care for it, but it felt like it had potential. And speaking of games that feel like a lot of content got cut, Dragon's Dogma had its share of sealed doors that felt like they were designed to go somewhere at some point, unfinished feeling locations, and places you weirdly couldn't explore.

I think the main reason the mother is hidden is because your character can have a bunch of different features and races, and it would be bizarre to be something that clearly couldn't happen (like being Asian when your dad is White and your mom is Black)
From a more technical aspect, it makes even more sense as darker skin means less processing power to hide the model's features in the blurred shadows as opposed to flour white textures. Granted, they didn't even have to model or texture the mother's face at all if the player was never meant to see it, but that's splitting hairs; it's likely they just reused a random dark-skinned NPC as a stand-in model so they didn't have to waste too much time modeling a separate entity only to blank out its face anyway. Much easier to simply blur out the face of a finished model and call it a day.
@@Dargonhuman you don't model faces in fallout/elder scrolls unless its a special case, you know that face editor when you make a character? ALL humans use those values for generating faces. mom's face probably uses default values.

Lore question that I never understood, in Fallout lore Braun & Mr House choose to live life through an AI, and while I understand at least for Mr House the lack of exposure to toxins germs and etc allowed him to live well past 100, but his appearance was very much ghoulish, physical deterioration wise, if the host dies or even just the brain, wouldn't that also terminate tranquility Lane as well as the House AI, they weren't feral ghouls, actual robots, mutants or any other non-humanoid, so they'll eventually succumb to Father time even if they are so isolated, the body and/or mind is going to go eventually, so what was the plan then as New Vegas pretty much ran through Mr House's AI Program, and several lives were attached to the tranquility Lane as well, and if the program ends so do the real life inhabitants of the Vault & Simulation.

Yea! I loved it
I hate robots-heavy
I also thought it was interesting that they used a black npc as your mother to also better help conceal her in the dark room, on top of using lighting effects.
Movie magic or (Game Magic)
So to speak.
I am a bit confused on this comment, but just in case, everyone in tranquility lane does indeed die when you escape.
Just discovered your channel and already watching a third episode. You are really knowledgeable and engaging! Love the content and explanations and ORGANIZATION especially!
wow thank you very much Kyle!
Funny how you worked out the green screen first try much better than other youtubers that have been using them for years, kudos for that. And great episode as always by the way
I was expecting Super Smash Bros Ultimate...
*This'll certainly do*
I definitely recognise those trees from tranquility lane. They're from oblivion!
"bended texture to make a 3d image" those are actually 3d models like all the others, with the texture applied to them.
I mean the bats in Skyrim were fully modeled too, I wouldn't put it past them if the birds in Fallout 3 were fully modeled
Omg i love how each intro is different and you are such a funny and cool dude and i love your channel and the people who help you with all this are awesome too!!
I liked your old outtro but the green screen is cool too :]
As I'm learning in bulk detail about what plants are going flipping insane watching this video is helping so much
