What I find very weird is people who call Dragon Age 2 the worst piece of garbage to ever exist, but suddenly hold it as the benchmark for Qunari faces specifically. Like, I am not saying it's impossible to hold both opinions at the same time, but it feels very selective.
DA2 has had a reappraisal from fans in recent years. You can find a lot more people now that hold DA2 as the best DA game. Personally it’s still my least favorite but there’s a lot to like, and I think the qunari were a step in the right direction. (Not budging on the DA2 elves though. Never again lol)
I actually like DA2 (it's the game I'm currently playing in fact) but nonetheless both statements can be true. I actually think it's a problem with this game. I think people are expecting it to be 10/10, best game ever made but because they don't like the art style or combat, all the incels are trying to cancel it. Origins is in my top 5 but I personally hate the combat and I actually don't like the combat in any DA but I like the series. TES Oblivion is my all time favourite game (along with Bloodborne) but I can acknowledge the fact that it's combat, character models, levelling systems are all horrendous. Unless you're British then you probably won't get this but I'm from Liverpool and support Liverpool. My wife is from Manchester and supports Man United. I still love her despite her quiet glaring flaw. What I'm saying is it's possible to look either like something but not think it's perfect and are able to say "I like this game but I don't like this" or it's possible to really dislike something but say "yeah the games awful but it had good graphics"
I’m quite hyped about this game, I think my only real complaint would be the screenshots showing max chest/glute size isn’t quite what I imagined from the advertising… now, don’t get me wrong, I’m not gonna throw a tantrum over not being able to make a bimbo-looking Rook, but I was hoping for a bigger max setting for those two options xD (Though, considering I also don’t have hands on experience, I also recognize that it _could_ be a photoshop from haters to make it seem like more of an issue than it is)
@Shadowpack95 we never had the ability to edit the body shape of any previous character. While i do wish the sliders pushed further than they do, im also just glad we have so many slider options. And Modders will break the limits anyways.

@@Yair21 I feel like people want this game to fail because of woke, or whatever. Which is odd because BG3 was super woke, but that game was critical darling. Idk. Give it a chance before you hate.
@@Samurai_Stoner frankly I'm not a fan of those options either, mostly cus I'm sick of people preaching at me. But I'll just not make my character trans. I did the same thing with Hogwarts legacy, cyberpunk, and bg3.
Overall the only complaint I have about the character creator is the posture of the characters. They're so tense and it makes them look awkward or odd. Not sure what's causing that effect. I hope it's not as much like that in cutscenes.
It's wild to me how so many people see several previewer selections for their own player character and assume all player characters must look that way. Out of dozens of the previewer vids I watched, only one selected a curvier build (regardless of character race). And that person didn't even max chest and glutes. So, we don't yet know how large chest and glutes can be. Similarly, selection of base face and subsequent decisions on skin tone, horns, etc. will impact the look of the player character. There are so many options and we've seen so few end-products. Breathe people.
I agree. I tend to be pretty good at character creators, usually to the point my mate's get me to make their characters sometime. Which is bizarre now that I think about it because we're all in our early/mid 30s, there is something quiet surreal about driving half way across the city as an adult just to make their characters for them and have a cup of tea but I digress. Usually the only other time I see good character from other people is when they're modded so I'm not going to judge until I get my hands on it. As no one should be about anything with a game. What I will say though and I unfortunately don't see a way around this is that there doesn't appear to be an option for how the horns connect, which I think is a major flaw with no work around. Because if you look at the older Qunarai and even desire demons and even the tieflings in BG the horns come out of their foreheads. These, the skin covers the protrusion point which is what gives them that snipers dream look. In terms of body sliders then I mean I get the concern to a degree but even if they're concerns turn out to be valid then I'm just grateful for any options. We've playing characters with the bodies of 10 year old boys in Bioware games since Mass Effect 1. As a fully grown male I'm just grateful that I won't have to play as some weird adult sized child. Not least because I have a phobia of massive babies. I've obviously never seen one but the idea of an adult sized baby or kid freaks me out. So I'm just grateful for any and all body sliders.
@@HappyChap8 Sorry - I've seen dozens of vids from previewers, so I can't recall whose channel it was. What I do remember is that the Qunari body size was distinctively curvy enough that there were a ton of relieved comments in the comment section about it.
But why chest/hips option connects to curve body type? If i remember right Buche (sorry if i wrong) said they take inspiration from sims4 cc, in sims you body parts don't connect to body type?
I guess it's more of a 50/50 problem. I've been playing Dragon Age since Origins originally released and I know it's futile and kind of childish/naive to wish for a chance to play as a Qunari as badass as the Arashok from DA2, but I'd lie if I said, I didn't want that. I also loved the strong and couragous Elven design philosophy from the second game, but Inquisition's CC allowed my Elven Inky to look _a lot_ like a DA2 elf. Took a lot of work, but I was super happy with my ginger Lavellan :)
I’m easily impressed so I don’t really get the hate for this, I’m now wondering if I should play Qunari now the options look super fun, I always start with a elf on my first runs aaahhh. Great video as always
Im glad you've shown us what the sliders can do. For a while, I refused to believe what folk were saying about the sliders for bust & butt size - I thought everyone was hating on the game for hatings' sake. But now I know they were telling the truth - Us big boob girls dont get a chance.😢 Yes, Understand character creator is only a small part of the game - I only hope the story blows me away.
Nothing about this vid showed how big or small the chest or glutes can be, though. She picked a muscular Qunari, thus the chest and glutes will be limited by the body type selected. Pick a curvier build, then when you get to chest and glute sliders, they will almost certainly allow for larger sizes ... but not one previewer (regretfully) has picked that yet, so we just haven't seen it.
Why they neck so short? And why sone premade bodies have shorter hands, can we stretch them to make them look normal? Why chest/ass/hips/waist area don't change so much, even you have 100% marck, does that conect with character animathoon? Why the heads(not forehead) so big?
I've seen one RUclipsr show footage of his male dwarf, because he specifically wanted to see, whether or not the dialogue/action/cutscene camera angles were able to keep up with his short king. He was very pleased by the results :) Can't remember the channel's name, sorry, been binging a lot of Veilguard content. It was a smaller channel though and he had silly little CGI animated skeletons in the background ;)
Aww, I just noticed no red eye options. Or black scleras which could've been cool for qunaris too. Hope the eye colors get an extension post release 'cause I love the idea of a more intimidating character.
@virginiamurr3703 I did notice this! At this point, I really just hope they come through with the early release of the character creator. That way we won't have to speculate until release lol.
Maybe play the prologue with both and see who you're vibing with the most :) But, like @MarikaStarflower said: Play both! Here's hoping the game warrants strong replayabality!!
Not one of the previewers has maxed out a base curvy body followed by maxing out chest and glutes. Heck, I've only seen one previewer even select a curvy body. But even that person didn't max out chest and glutes. Most previewers who selected (regardless of race of the player character) have gone for muscular or tone (which will naturally limit chest and glute size a bit).
I know this is always odd coming from a guy, but since all my girlfriends have been very curvy, it's kind of baffling that the chest and glute options are so limited compared to the insane detail of the rest. It's just what I've always been into. I'll just start with a male character first or an elven woman and just hope that BioWare will tweak the sliders. If that fails, there's still gonna be mods for those of us who play on PC. 😌 Still though... I really wanted to start with a dwarven shield maiden (Grey Warden) archetype. A non curvy dwarven woman just seems wrong to me, so I'll put that off for the time being, I guess. 🤷♂
Having elves and dwarves in your fantasy setting is lazy. You're doing it because Tolkien did it. But the kossith are original to DA and they will always be my favourites!
The only thing is a problem is they limited the measurements of certain body parts if you were a female, you cannot make your own character, to thefull extent
@@cesarlenai4297 well my wife is angry because the limits were implemented and we shouldn’t have to install mods because of what they are doing to the limits, to character creation
I've seen some Rooks that look curvier so I'm hoping it's just a matter of what body type present you start with before tweaking. Tbh, I like a lot of the character creator so far but that + the limited qunari hairstyles + almost no fantasy eye colors is disappointing.
So regarding the eye color, we now actually have less of an option, cause there is no color wheel anymore? It's like the sims4 in the beginning, where there was hardly any options in comparison to sims3. Also can we change anything on the legs? The calves are just too much on any bodyshape setting.
There is another screen with more options for eyes ... bloodshot eyes, cataracts, etc. Not sure if that holds what you're looking for, but I'd wait to see more before deciding there are less options. And, the base body selected will impact the size of things like calves. She selected a muscular build, so it makes sense they are larger. Once you pick the base body, you can pretty much tweak any individual body part.
@@virginiamurr3703 Yeah I meant that with a color wheel for eye color like in Inquisition, you have essentially infinite color options and here I only saw a finite predefined number of eye color options. For the rest of the sliders I guess I just have to wait. It's a bit tiring to search in all the CC videos for what I'm looking for.
I've been a fan of the Qunari Since Sten is DAO. A very practical species, he was best friends with my Warden two Brothers in Arms . I also really loved their design changes in DA2 while still keeping a lore reason for Sten to look the way he did. I leaped at the chance to play one in Inquisition. A Qunari warrior with a heart of gold. So far however I'm not too sold on this look though. I have questions about how accurately I'm going to be able to recreate My Kos Adaar. They just look so gentle and small compared to the other Qunari we've seen. I'll reserve Judgment for your next video and the game itself but the Qunari here don't really catch my attention like they have in other titles.
Glad to see that the forehead can be reduced to make the qunari character look a bit more "correct"; she actually looks pretty decent at 3:58. While I start most games as a human warrior, usually because it's the easiest role to slip in to in a new franchise, I think I'm familiar enough with DA at this point that I'm already planning for a qunari Rook on my first playthrough. Also, somehow I never played as a dwarf in Inquisition. I might have to fix that on my second playthrough of Veilguard.
She selected a muscular build, thus, the chest size will naturally be smaller even if maxed out -- though, she didn't max out chest size. Want a larger chest or glutes? You'd have to max curvy build base body, then individually max chest and glutes. We've seen not a single previewer do this yet, so it's odd to assume you can't.
I don't know what it is but there's something with the bodies and heads that I don't like. Like anatomically, idk. Thankfully after BG3 I expect tons of DA:V mods to fix this.
Heads in general are too big. Idk how fixable it'll be in the character creator but if it gets a similar modding community to BG3 then prolly within the first wave of mods being made there will be a fix. I'm hoping for lots of customization for the UI personally. I want to turn so much of it off because the environment art is really good but all the various UI elements really ruin it.
At least this video shows a more decent version of the qunari then IGN, they just make abominations for some reason. But again the body type sliders are pretty wack. Haven’t seen one curvy female that’s not muscular and having bigger butt, or chest is less then the average woman I see every day IRL. So inclusive BioWare..
Of the few people who previewed the game, not one has maxed a curvy base build while maxing chest and glutes. A muscular or tone build will (because of physiology) *not* have overly large chests or glutes. That's just how bodies work. And, yet, only one previewer that I've seen leaned into the curvy base body. Even at that, the previewer did *not* max chest and glute size. "Omg, if I haven't seen it in a few player characters, it must not exist as an option" is not rational.
I actually find it crazy that Bioware has changed the look of the Qunari in every subsequent game. This is the most drastic change so far, but the Qunari have been a victim of a slow and gradual Reverse-Twink Death for the entire series. It’s funny.
I’ll be waiting until modders do their thing before I play a Qunari Rook or import my Qunari Inquisitor. Hoping for rougher face textures, better horn-to-forehead blending, and more muscular/taller body types.
I never play Qunari so I'm not too broken up about it but i do understand where people are coming from and i think it is a valid criticism how silly they look compared to even Inquisition Qunari
I just don't understand who handle those shown offs from bioware/IGN bc it's crystal clear you can make so much better qunari in CC than that megamind horror.... BW stop feeding the haters PLZ

Great videos! The faces all look like they have a bad case of resting Chad face... I think that is what is making the art style look so bad to me. And the head/body proportions seem a bit off.
Just what I’ve always wanted, a bulge option for a female. 🤣🤣🤣 In seriousness though, I love all the customization options to create whatever kind of character you want instead of just selecting from a bunch of presets and only able to change eyes and hair.
@@MikefromTexas1 I disagree, but it's fair to say that's a subjective assessment for both of us. I guess my main point is that the foreheads *do* have options to look different from the default setting. And, there are various settings to do that (type of horns selected, skin tone, etc.). Will some people still not like them? No question. That will be true regardless of how good the selection capabilities are.

It was pretty awful gameplay wise, didn't have enough development time. But it had some solid designes for races.
Im glade your showcasing the qunari i really wanted to see the options for them so i caould have idear how i will make my character
I NEEDED THIS VIDEO THANK YOU SO MUCH I LOVE YOU
Can you remove eyebrows? It might help make them appear more natural
Pretty sure the one CC I saw that covered eyebrows showed a no-eyebrow option.
I’m quite hyped about this game, I think my only real complaint would be the screenshots showing max chest/glute size isn’t quite what I imagined from the advertising… now, don’t get me wrong, I’m not gonna throw a tantrum over not being able to make a bimbo-looking Rook, but I was hoping for a bigger max setting for those two options xD
(Though, considering I also don’t have hands on experience, I also recognize that it _could_ be a photoshop from haters to make it seem like more of an issue than it is)
Sadly not photoshop, max chest size is High A to Low B and glute to match. No representation for women with curves
@Shadowpack95 we never had the ability to edit the body shape of any previous character. While i do wish the sliders pushed further than they do, im also just glad we have so many slider options. And Modders will break the limits anyways.

I though this said "homeless option" and was utterly confused. For a second I thought that meant that there's some kind of "no background/redacted" option in the character creator xD

Idk, I get that we can modify forehead.. hur head itself seems to be too big and hands too long. Or legs too short? For me something is very off... still hyped for the game but I'm not the biggest fan of avatars so far.
Lots of options for you to choose head size, height, body base (tone, muscular, curvy), and more adjustments per body part.
Idk what people are talking about.

Looks good!
Is this the music they have for cc? In the background sounds beuatiful. Or did she add in editing
Overall the only complaint I have about the character creator is the posture of the characters. They're so tense and it makes them look awkward or odd. Not sure what's causing that effect. I hope it's not as much like that in cutscenes.
Lots of characters in DA:I can have shoulders that are bizarrely angled forward. So weird posture and structure seems right at home in DA...
Will you be doing one like this for the dwarfs?
Love the giant forehead ! I mean they have ram like horns only makes sense ! she’s so pretty fav qunari seen so far !
❤ Thanks Kala ❤
do you know how many sclera color choices there are? are there black sclera?
Not a fan of the art direction/style nor the combat but here's hoping we can make a DA2 Qunari.
Same thing here, the body choice isnt the muscular one and the sliders arnt really tested , we just dunno, none of this drama is real its so weird
Could you tell me the name of creator? Want to check out the video.
I wanna be a male qunari but I’m worried if the body type is limited to being a buff person and that’s not me 😢
She selected a muscular base body. You don't have to. You can select a tone body or a curvy body. After that, you can tweak individual body parts.
Allows me to create whatever I want? Can I make a Qunari similar to what Qunari were in DAO , DA2 or DAI?
So, ugly Qunari are literally a skill issue :P
But now I know they were telling the truth - Us big boob girls dont get a chance.😢
Yes, Understand character creator is only a small part of the game - I only hope the story blows me away.
I can kind of understand since it can cause issues with clipping. As well as its just easier and less work. So all DA games do the same thing.

Why they neck so short? And why sone premade bodies have shorter hands, can we stretch them to make them look normal? Why chest/ass/hips/waist area don't change so much, even you have 100% marck, does that conect with character animathoon? Why the heads(not forehead) so big?
Finally, my dreams of making a twink Qunari will be realized. (This is not sarcasm. This is what I've been wanting to do since DAI haha)
Well, at least the MASSIVE weird bulky forehead from the promotional material so far was just terrible customization choices lol
Thank you
How noticeable is height if say you went small dwarf?
I've seen one RUclipsr show footage of his male dwarf, because he specifically wanted to see, whether or not the dialogue/action/cutscene camera angles were able to keep up with his short king. He was very pleased by the results :)
Can't remember the channel's name, sorry, been binging a lot of Veilguard content. It was a smaller channel though and he had silly little CGI animated skeletons in the background ;)
Aww, I just noticed no red eye options. Or black scleras which could've been cool for qunaris too. Hope the eye colors get an extension post release 'cause I love the idea of a more intimidating character.
There are more eye options I've seen on other vids ... like bloodshot eyes, cataracts, etc. So, I guess I'd say, don't give up hope yet.

I was REALLY hoping I could play a very curvy character but the glute & chest sliders just don't allow that :( Sucks, because I'm super curvy IRL.
Still though... I really wanted to start with a dwarven shield maiden (Grey Warden) archetype. A non curvy dwarven woman just seems wrong to me, so I'll put that off for the time being, I guess. 🤷♂
Great, another game I'm going to spend 3 hrs in character customization.. 😂
Im glad the music is very subtly entertaining compared to inquisition
Whatever you want huh?! I guess i can't create my BBM...
Having elves and dwarves in your fantasy setting is lazy. You're doing it because Tolkien did it. But the kossith are original to DA and they will always be my favourites!
Pre ordering this weekend
The only thing is a problem is they limited the measurements of certain body parts if you were a female, you cannot make your own character, to thefull extent
There will probably be mods to tweak a bit the slider (like the RaceMenu for Skyrim back in the day) after the game release I think.
@@cesarlenai4297 not a good idea to wait for the mods for that, kinda leaves the console players hanging in the dark with these kinds of things
@@cesarlenai4297 well my wife is angry because the limits were implemented and we shouldn’t have to install mods because of what they are doing to the limits, to character creation
@@cesarlenai4297highly unlikely unfortunately Frostbite engine is extremely hard to make mods for also to cleanly install.
Are you just not able to make big breasts on Qunaris? Or is this just the largest the chest sliders will go in general?
She selected a muscular build, thus, the chest size will naturally be smaller even if maxed out -- though, she didn't max out chest size. Want a larger chest or glutes? You'd have to max curvy build base body, then individually max chest and glutes. We've seen not a single previewer do this yet, so it's odd to assume you can't.
@@virginiamurr3703 ok, I just wasn’t sure.
I like more the qunaris styles of previous dragon age games. This ones looks way to human.
She said she basically just used the default face with a few tweaks. There are many other options for Qunari faces.
Skin still looks way too smooth. Like they are plastic dolls
my only complaint is the proportions. big heads, short necks, narrow shoulders. unfortunately it’s just the style of the game.
RAAAAA
Hmmm... it feels like the head is too big, the limbs are too short and the torso is too long. I hope that is adjustable
What have they done to the Qunari??
I actually find it crazy that Bioware has changed the look of the Qunari in every subsequent game. This is the most drastic change so far, but the Qunari have been a victim of a slow and gradual Reverse-Twink Death for the entire series. It’s funny.
@@AesirUnlimited Arguably, DA2 was the most drastic change. That was when they said, "oh, by the way, qunari canonically have horns now."
Nightmare fuel.
I’ll be waiting until modders do their thing before I play a Qunari Rook or import my Qunari Inquisitor. Hoping for rougher face textures, better horn-to-forehead blending, and more muscular/taller body types.
To bad the qunari look so bad :( luckely i prefer playing elf which looks good
I never play Qunari so I'm not too broken up about it but i do understand where people are coming from and i think it is a valid criticism how silly they look compared to even Inquisition Qunari
I just don't understand who handle those shown offs from bioware/IGN bc it's crystal clear you can make so much better qunari in CC than that megamind horror.... BW stop feeding the haters PLZ
Character appearance is subjective, who ever made that Qunari probably though he looked great, to them. Some people are just not that great at CC. There are also people who deliberately make their characters monstrosities.
@@WraithReaper09 I agree with u about the appearance and everyone should make whatever or whoever they want. Great videos! The faces all look like they have a bad case of resting Chad face... I think that is what is making the art style look so bad to me. And the head/body proportions seem a bit off.
Just what I’ve always wanted, a bulge option for a female. 🤣🤣🤣
In seriousness though, I love all the customization options to create whatever kind of character you want instead of just selecting from a bunch of presets and only able to change eyes and hair.
Why are their foreheads so smooth??😂
Select a different base face, skin type, etc. and it won't be.
@@virginiamurr3703 Yes it is. I like many have literally seen all the options, and they're all too smooth. Even the "rougher" ones are too smooth!
Pity the body triangle doesn't seem to change much. Not particularly diverse body types.
