IDK what happened to my OG comment but i will rephrase what i said earlier. I will say that i am happy about products like this hitting the market with the amount it can accomplish while still being affordable. On top of showing how you can get great, usable, unique sounds without needing to buy a $1.7k sound brick or gear that you never needed in the first place. As a guitar teacher, it makes me happy that i can point at products similar to this they can just slap headphones on for practicing while also being able to play gigs with the right sound systems available. But, would i recommend this product to them?? Nope. And my reasons are the mooer may be a neat company who make alot of killer products. But, they have a bad track record of updating their GP modelers since their 200 model. They are the type to rather put more time and energy in making a replacement/"Upgrade" then to update their current products and making those better overtime. And the whole advantage of their Computer amp sims is that it can get Updates that make it more usable/better then when it released. Lets take all what i said before and look at the product itself. Yeah its made a little cheap like their usual products and the design could have been much better (but, sacrifices must be made in order to have affordable products). But like six said, These products are very niche and don't have no real place for the average joe who don't have a wall of amps like more geartuber sales man to just grab captures of on a whim and actually benefit from the product. And i don't like the concept of capturing a Amp sim plug in sound simply because your taking a already processed sound and processing it more into a simulator. Like sure it will stay around the area of what you captured, but it wont be or work as well as the thing your capturing. if other wanna buy this product go for it. Just don't be suprised if it gets abandoned and replaced by a slightly better/bigger price tag withing the same month making you feel foolish for throwing paper at this product in this economy Another thig ill say right here and now is Neural Dsp is a company that doesn't deserve your time or money. They are a company who has Blizzard and Studio red tactics. Blizzard entertainment because of how they only cater or promote/shout out the Prog Modern Math rock 7/8 10k+ follower more salesmen then guitar player Gear tubers who promise to teach you their "secrets" of how to sound/practice like them by purchasing their course that is their an Ad/copy of another guitar program. Then studio red for terrible advertisement and choosing to release a UNFINISHED product they say will get updated (their new slang for finishing and not upgrading) only to really be behind the scenes working on the replacement that also wont be finished by launch. But hey, atleast the previous product will get its first update after 1 year or 2. Only way you will see yourself on their page, reels, or stories is if. 1. You bought their overpriced, overrated, overhyped $1.7k noise brick or $700 Noise Bricklet with less feature rather if you play it or not, Just owning it will give you the spot light 2. Continuing to make their followers consumers rather then free thinking musicians who can be old that you can be unique without having to sound like everyone else on top of not blowing so much money over the years. anywho, im dont yammerin. imma nap. The ToneX pedals can't profile amps. You need a computer, interface and re-amp box to do that. The Quad Cortex, Nano Cortex, Kemper head/floorboard and the GS1000 can profile amps without anything extra.
They're getting closer and closer to parts cost lol Now I compare everything to 89 USD (unsoldered DIY DSP kit) + 24 USD (DaisySeed core unsoldered 64MB). Not affiliated but it's not hard to find if you want to build something resembling a Neural Nano clone and people need to know that even "advanced" technology is accessible to them for a little elbow grease. Don't even need to know code anymore, plenty of people already made some so you just need to be able to do things like use a USB cable to upload whatever to it. Thanks for another great video and breakdown.
@sevenstringtv yeah i mean its a great practice tool, i own the qc and the fact it does not even have a simple metronome in it hurts at the price point it is! Great video by the way :)
You need to know that companies classify their products as basic, intermediate and professional. Thinking about the musicians who don't receive in dollars, the price of a Quad is insane, I myself use a Hotone Ampero Stomp and some analog pedals. So, before analyzing, take a look at the sound that Cacau Santos gets with a Mooer GE 300, for example, he sounds better than all of us.
Bro i really enjoyed your video and Mooer products. I bought a mooer ge100 for like 100 bucks 6 years ago, since then I've been on a huge pedal and amp binge, but the mooer still holds its own. It has a very usable JCM800 amp sim called BRITISH 800 and the stupidly named "METAL MAN" distortion model can make nearly any amp sound good. Obviously it's not a marshall but it's damn close. I've gone through behringer, boss, joyo and marshall pedals that don't sound as good as the little MOOER multi fx box. Has a good noise gate, tuner, what else could you need It's crazy
@@TheDefiant_Nic yeah. And they usually sound better too. I was choosing between and ampero one and GE150 or whatever it was called. Ampero is full metal and sounds absolutely monstrous
I love my tonex but I would like to try this a simply multieffect and completeley disregard its profiling. It has both fx loop and midi so it could work very well as a combo with tonex in the fx loop
Do people really use quad cortexes for studio tones from stuff they profiled at home? I’d want this to have fun and profile my tube amps maybe but I already have a pod pro hd x and IR loader in its fx loop if I want to play around at my desk.
For my personal needs the nano cortex is perfect I already have the perfect power bank for it and the device itself does everything I personally would need. But this Mooer is very very tempting. But I won’t buy any of them I think. I own the QC that’s already perfect for me. I also bought the ToneX one b-stock to try it and the ease of use is HORRIBLE I still didn’t figure it out how to use it as an audio interface (technically I can but it doesn’t sound at all so I can’t dial it).
I think even the old Headrush stuff still has better sounding amp models than most of it's competition. I don't care one way or the other about profiling.
I dont´t get tired of stretching this: As someone who used a Mooer GE 250 for a long time and tried most of the hi gain caputes on the cloud, i have to say that in a real life scenario, the MNRS 2.0 capturing is sub par, most captures are terrible and audible aliasing, and the cloud is complete garbage. Capture tech stands and falls with a strong community supported by the company, which is not the case here.
It's not the most affordable profiler on the market. Why do you keep saying that? ToneX and ToneX One are cheaper. And they sound incredible! Not saying the Mooer doesn't have a place in the market - it's actually closer to a Quad Cortex than anything else, feature-wise. The battery is also a pretty nic(h)e feature!
@sevenstringtv No, it's definitely not a modeler. It doesn't even play models. It only plays profiles. And you can create profiles using it as an audio interface. Ok, it's not the same as modeling right on device, but that's about it. And I have a ToneX One in front of me that cost 140€ during Cyberweek and does all that as well. Not only the "big" one for around 400€. Doesn't matter - if you wanna educate your viewers, you should've at least mentioned it.
You can! There are ZERO rules to what can or can't be used in a studio. If you think it sounds good for your taste, just don't listen to others. Truth is: Mooer has been doing some killer units! AND, it's getting almost impossible to tell the difference between real amps and modelers. I LOVE it!!! These units are essentially "magic boxes" that can give you all kinds of sounds. People who try to resist it are way too attached to the feeling of growing up as a teenager wishing they had a Marshall! And guess what?! It's only gonna get better when A.I becomes more advanced! The future is now.
@@MartyMcDonnald yes, I'm aware of that. This was a question for the author of the film. I don't know why he doubts that this device cannot be used in a studio

Not every product is a profiler though! Pretty much only two on the market in this price range now, this one being the cheapest

Headrush Prime Flex kind of eats this thing. Mx5 probably isn’t too bad either.
