  • Everything belongs to Disney.
One of my favourite animated films, underrated by the general public, quite a shame!
    This bit is particularly lovely.
(Also this is totally Highlady Hasty entrance to Valor Hold after the war XD)

Ikr. I thought if they ever wanted to have Vecna (DnD) on-screen, the Horned King is exactly the model they should be using: a dark, terrifying yet commanding presence, a taciturn manner speaking only when he needs to otherwise he's giving you a silent, death stare and when he speaks, he does so with a voice (by the late great John Hurt) where you can feel the centuries of power and menace within.

One of the things I love about this part of the movie is the gypsy. She wasn’t drawn as a skinny woman and she is still beautiful. The other thing is the vibe I get from this scene. I can feel the ruffians happiness but I also feel that sense of oof when the horned king comes in. I’ll admit he is creepy but folks THAT is a villain. Sure I enjoy Disney’s usual singing, misunderstood villain who has a tragic or unfair past, tells their plans to the hero and what not. But this king man, whew, he had no chill. I pretty much enjoyed this movie as a whole even as a kid because it had elements that I’m into even to this day. Supernaturals, swords, a great music score. Some may find this odd, but as a Disney fan, as much as I enjoy musical numbers throughout a movie, I like the fact that this movie is not a musical and more action. Like this is a movie I can watch over and over and not get tired, where as something with a whole lot of singing I have to be in a mood for. Sure, this movie is fear inducing and not something that would be popular due to the fear element, I can see how it bombed because it wasn’t Disney’s “usual” jamboree sing along dancing mouse moral of the story you get it kind of movie Lmao. But I’m certainly glad I owned the vhs as a youngster (still have it lol). Though I will say too that perhaps another company should have took this on so they wouldn’t have to cut so much. I saw the cut scenes and kinda felt some kind of way like “Dang you should have kept that all in!” Lol. Much love to Gurgie and the Witches, they are my favorite characters along with the gypsy lol. The MCs kinda got on my nerves but the redeemed themselves in the end. I’ll have to read the books as I heard that those portray the story better :3 Review over lol.

This is one of my favorite Disney villains because something that differentiated the Disney villains is that the Horned King was more intimidating and more threatening than the others, his skeletal appearance with deer antlers and a red robe seemed more like that of a demon , his voice was chilling, and his look says more than a thousand words that his look is full of hatred and cruelty and the only thing that matters to him is to slaughter every living being in order to start his kingdom, his anger makes his eyes become empty in bright red eyes full of rage, everything that I have mentioned makes that villain someone to truly fear and respect, because if the Horned King had completed his objective, surely this would be the villain with the most deaths he has taken , in my opinion if in a kingdom hearts they put the Horned King as the villain it would be very interesting, to see our favorite Disney characters facing the Horned King's undead army while If they see how their home is in pieces, a confrontation against the Horned King would be epic and satisfying
