- #1 As I said in few comments down below, this "tutorial" was only made to show everyone how is recon made inside. By showing step by step how to dissasamble and asamble everything, my clip MAY HELP someone in NONprofessional repair. Check rockshox tech manual pdf's before repair to confirm ambiguities.
#2 Brunox Deo is recommended by ROCK-SHOX. It keeps the sealing rings in soft condition and does not adhesive dust. AND ITS NOT AGRESSIVE TO THE SURFACE.
In this movie:
partly disassembling (solo air spring, motion control cadrige, oil seal)
changing some o-ring's
changing oil (fluid)
wymiana oleju - Хобби
Watching someone do something like this is sometimes more effective than listening to someone talk about it. Thanks for posting the video.
:) prosze o nazwy.
Cześć TheN3ckol. To będą Smar RST PRAMAX Power (7zł), Olej 15W Finishline (można poszukać odpowiednika do motocykli za mniejsze pieniądze), Zmywacz do hamulców jako odtłuszczacz, a do konserwacji Brunox Deo. Zobacz moj kolejny film.
Grzegorz Dziękuję pięknie :)

Forget this, I'll buy new forks.
Mam pytanie. Jest sens zalewać go 15w i 5w? Czy lepiej tylko 5? (Jak tak to gdzie trzeba go zalac
how can i get the rock seals?
camera angel is a little off. Too bad, that you cant see all the work you are doing.
Shame the camera doesn't film much of the action.
Are recon U-turn forks serviced the same way?
Helpful tutorial, good real world DIY demo. We're not all geared up with park stands and the perfect tool kit to do every job, but you show it CAN be done. Good work there..
Hacked at those those wiper seals and then decided to keep them in. Strong effort but didn't go the distance to make it worth pulling the whole shock apart.
Would have been more use if the part you were working on was in shot all of the time *rolleyes*
Too bad that most of the time we don’t really see what you’re doing ... you should either adjust the camera angle or work right under it
Ur problem on ur camera position 😞
Fuck, dude, that fork is CLEAN, i had to sink mine into the bathtub with dish soap just to start cleaning it LOL. Would it be very different if the fork was spring loaded?
Or buy new forks.
You said the video is for non professionnal people doing maintenance. You do not show all liquids you use to clean or grease the fork at the beginning (repair tools, cleaning & greasing products, ....). The camera is not well setup to see all the steps you are doing during the process (manytimes, the camera is out of the view)
Hello. I have only 5wt oil, can use that on everything or I need 15 wt for the lowers ?
Cześc ile oleju sie wleja i jaki ?
video lack enough details poor positioning of camera above all it an unfinished job now what should i tell the customer
This video tutorial captures the brunt of what's needed to rebuild a shock like this but a few important things are missing/problematic. First, Sram (and virtually every other shock company) recommends NOT using degreasers and solvents to clean any part of the fork. Reason is, harsh chemicals can impact the o-rings and finishes on the stanchions. Only isopropyl alcohol should be used to clean the parts. There are also a few o-rings that are missed in this video such as the internal o-rings on the air-solo assembly (two internal o-rings on the two white caps). Those two o-rings should be replaced and GREASED, not oiled. I recommend watching the official Sram videos here on youtube as they're done by a certified tech and walk you through each step.
good tutorial, but many of the video does not look like ocsines follow the steps.
I have a set of tora 302 would the service be the same .Cheers .
Queisso meu. Pra que isso tudo? Põe um garfo rígido e pronto. Viva feliz. Ninguém precisa dessas porcarias.
Feel free to subscribe? :D
seu pulço n curtiu isso
@ann collins motion control (if there is one) probably looks the same, but spring is totally different. Sorry.
Really great and helpful video. Doskonała robota, Pozdrawiam ;)
he doesn't have a rubber hammer and gloves
I need tutorial rare shock with pneumatic
Nice job! Moves fast. This is the best video I have found .
wear some gloves man, that shock oil is not good for you.
what year are this model ?
If you are going to be reusing those o-rings then I think that you should be removing them with finger pressure and not with a screwdriver. Also, washing the outside of the lowers with foam and such should be done before taking the lowers apart.
Hi, i have a RockShox Tora RS 318 with 140mm travel, how much oil (into the damper/motion control side) does it need ?
motion control in tora? for 2011 tora, dumper side: 150 in upper legs 5w, 15ml into lower legs 15w; spring side if u have soloair one 3ml into upper legs (15w) and 15 into lower (same wt) but if u have your tora with coil u only need to fil lower legs with 30ml of 15w oil.
Thanks ;)
These are old but they sure are lightweight and perfect for the trail /pot holes of England 🙏🇬🇧
a big nylon pipe cleaner works wonders.
16:50 - *I noticed that the service manual doesn’t specify which side to insert the stupid black rubber disc. You inserted on the rider’s right (non-brake) side, so hopefully that’s correct.*
Excellent tutorial, thanks for sharing, just a couple of obvervations:
As far as I can tell, you are servicing a Recon fork, shouldn't you be using different oil for the upper damper leg as the one used for the other parts of the fork?
btw are you using paper towels? isn't that less aggressive with the surface to use a cloth towel?
That Service can be in the rock shox boxxer world cup 2014
honestly, I doubt it
About 30% of the time you work outside the line of the camera
Polecam srodek brunox do czayszczenia i smarowania amortyzatora. To zdecydowanie wydłuży żywotność aluminiowych i gumowych części amortyzatora.
I like the music,what is it ?
+Alejandro Godoy the song at the begining is The Wallflowers - 6th Avenue Heartache
+Alejandro Godoy sounds like an instrumental version of 6th Avenue Heartache by The Wallflowers! Great song!
I'm so sorry. It's my second clip for now, and I'm still learning how to prepare them well for viewers. Thanks for your feedback, next time (with using a real camera stuff) I'll record/edit it better.
Apart from this issue, let me know if you'll need some help or if you'll find here some incoherent things. cheers
manutenção Garfo Lefty 29 gostaria de saber!!! abraços
Any chance you can put a link to download a PDF showing step by step ?
I saw that you filled up another syringe of oil at the end of the video, then it just kinda disappeared. Was that just for the lowers?
Thx for posting the video!!
Great views of the table top.........very informative...........not..............!
Why disassemble it if you had no intentions of rebuilding it.A good rebuilding kit is less than $100 bucks.
Be sure to check out my channel.
Can you tell me how much oil should be in the left leg?
(where the air pump)
Thanks...
+Vladimir K. 3ml into Soloair upper tube and 6ml into lower tube on the same side.
+Grzegorz Can you tell me in the right leg as much oil?
It should be the same as the left side.
6ml
+Vladimir K. it depends on what fork you own. For recon as shown on a clip you need to add 123ml into MotionControl upper tube and 6ml into lower tube. Check rockshox tech manuals (sram website) for more info.
+Grzegorz |Thanks very much...
Zeig mal das was du gemacht hast du glob
How much oil you put in the damper,.
i saw 7 seringe, but wath quantity?
Vlad Cosma 123ml into MotionControl upper tube and 6ml into lower tube;
3ml into Soloair upper tube and 6ml into lower tube on the same side.
which oil is that and how much of oil we should put oil accurate
Wow, doing most of the tricky stuff off camera, that was helpful.
Thats my secret, cheers!
Thanks hehe !
ok, I've done it. There's a new version of rebuild process. Feel free to like, share and comment mate. Thanks!
How much $ would a bike shop charge for this repair. And how much $ for a new set.
Randy Craig forgot how to use google? Seals costs around $25
How much oil goes into the air damper side of the fork? One full syringe?
6ml
how much oil do you use for the mute page ??
it just like for rockshox tora or no?
hi, what kind of oil did you use? tnx
Could I please know why you hit the bolt before removing hit
The fork is bolted down for years. Lossening it then hitting it will free up the seal attached allowing you to remove it easier.
any idea as to why a Reba Team fork would stop going up and down and then pop the seal and start leaking oil? I could pull it up but then it would just plunk back down. This is with air and without... I've taken it to two shops and nobody will help. This is also after riding the bike twice.
It sounds like something is leaking into lower legs. If I were you, I would start with replacing all rubber orings in both chambers. Is it equiped with oil damper (like motion control)?
+Grzegorz my husband had taken it to a bike shop and they said they wouldn't help and to come get the bike. I don't know if they tinkered with it. I just went out and pushed down on the handle bars and it is going up and down now but it's hard to do. It was set for my husband who has 40lbs on me. The bike is too tall for me to et any leverage on but when I lock out the shocks it still is moving...
+Grzegorz I didn't see anymore oil leaking out. The shop must've done something..
@@JenniferWoellert Just let a little air out
For anyone watching this as a how too...
DO NOT remove seals unless you plan on replacing them. Stretching them is going to make them last longer and since they are bathed in oil all the time they do not need to be cleaned. The tiny but if old oil will go away after being used for a while with new oil.
This entire year down and build up was pointless. Draining the oil and refilling it would have done the same thing.
Great Job!
I am tearing mine down next week.
How much fluid did you use?
Best video Thanks :-)
The fork is very cool
gipsy job , sorry :D
English please.
check out my updated version of this clip
Great music track ! tasty drummer
Excellent video.
Hi mate could you please tell me the name of the music thanks I really like it.the video is good
sup dude. It's "the odyssey" by harvey79
+Alejandro Godoy The Wallflowers - 6th Avenue Heartache is the song at the start
you should be more gentle with the fork and work with proper tools.
what does the preload on top of the left fork mean?
+s m This fork setting exists so that the fork can be customized to your weight (major reason) and riding style (minor reason). It's simply the initial compression of the internal spring in the fork. The more it's compressed, the stiffer the fork will feel.Bigger preload compresses the spring more, and so it's best for heavier riders and/or people who need/prefer the stiffer ride (racers etc.) Lighter riders should use less(-) preload. Less(-) preload will also give you plusher ride, but the bike will e.g. dive more during braking. Hope i helped you! cheerz
@@maxdamagebrate Truth ,I love my Rockshox and its so smoothies, I'm tall and wide so it gets used but never bottoms out ,I got like 150 pounds of air in the beast
czym ty to psikałeś koło 5 minuty?
Użyj wody z płynem do mycia naczyń. Mozesz to przelac do butelki bo płynie do mycia szyb, bedzie latwiej psikac
Grzegorz dzięki :)
i just take it to the bike shop...
Well, then there's us who have the brains to learn it for ourself. You sure don't look like one of "us".
After seeing this video, I will, too
