I have a whole series of baseball from 71. Mint. And they are basically worthless.1-5 usd per card at most so you lose money on shipping. Poor box has been passed from person to person for years until it stopped at me.
When it comes to collecting cards for me personally i dont care about the investing part i mean ill look up cards to see what they are going for but most likely wont sell them anyway
It makes me so sad to see so many grown men pouring so much into games. Men collecting toys just sits really wrong with me. I joined the Army when I was 16. I left childish things far behind long ago. This is a part of the reason society is collapsing.
I do, but you won't like it. Do not collect new product. It's worthless and probably won't be worth a dime for half your life, if ever. Buy the old block sets that people have real nostalgia for. It doesn't have to be Alpha/Beta/etc stuff, but at least go with older stuff like Ice Age, Tempest, Urzas, etc blocks. That's when people still liked Magic overall, and there weren't 10000 sets released every year.
Buy sealed at good prices. Look at what Rudy is showing - a lot he got for ~70% of it's value. If he has unlimited time these will go up in value and will find sellers. You don't want to be like the guy who sold this stuff. He probably paid MSRP, didn't hold long at all and sold when he had financial problems. You need to sit on these for way longer for them to gain value. These boxes are finite, and people are cracking stuff all the time. The guy who said don't buy new sets is dumb. If you can get a good price on them do it. In 50 years it won't matter if a box is 10 years older or newer, it will be a 50 year old box. Basically, buy low, and wait aong ass fucking time, and don't let the time get the best of you. Stay solid and don't puss out. If you do, your plan sucked to begin with
Too bad there were no comments about the Unfinity box. That is a story of a set that went to crap. Although, I do not think that anyone had much hope in it even though the Galaxy Foil shock lands were supposed to save it. Paradoxically ,it probably would have sold more if they just made all the cards silver boarder except the basics and shocks. At least the whole fiasco with stickers and attractions wouldn't have been a thing.
This reminds me of the diamond market. We are led to believe the cards are actually "rare" and demand high value. Meanwhile, guys like this are sitting on more than what the market even offers... cmon man... this investment into tcg's is ridiculous. Fomo because, like all collectibles, the rare ones are the ones people didn't know were going to be rare. Now they crap out box sets monthly. Quit trying to scam others because you overbought to try to get rich because you don't want a real job.
And that comment is directed at everyone who "invests" in mtg, not just this guy directly. You're all ruining this game, just like when corporate jerk offs ruin their games for the sake of profit and not entertainment.

I have a whole series of baseball from 71. Mint. And they are basically worthless.1-5 usd per card at most so you lose money on shipping. Poor box has been passed from person to person for years until it stopped at me.
That's a nice collection of boxes. A bit of everything, makes up for a nice display still.
i paid $170 for mh1 and watched it stay that price for 4 years
When it comes to collecting cards for me personally i dont care about the investing part i mean ill look up cards to see what they are going for but most likely wont sell them anyway
Just open the boxes and packs, and sell the cards individually, easy peasy :p
Bulk is where the money is at, the big markets already got the rares locked down.
Finally a video title that makes sense
Great collection, wish the seller could have held on to them a little longer.
Rudy Review: Good prices, fast shipping. A++ Patreon seller!
Engaging in things that don't feel good. Like my quest for 100 alpha living walls. I'm at 87, it's hard, it's not fun anymore, but I still buy them.
It makes me so sad to see so many grown men pouring so much into games. Men collecting toys just sits really wrong with me. I joined the Army when I was 16. I left childish things far behind long ago. This is a part of the reason society is collapsing.
@TheHaughtyOsprey please try harder to bait.
Are you gonna use them as wallpaper? 😅
If it's worthless, send it to me. I'll dispose of it.
When you have so many cards you own a pallet jack
Does anyone in the comment section have good suggestions for starting collecting sealed products
If you do, your plan sucked to begin with
Glad I found your channel.
I honestly hope everyone who invests loses their asses due to their greed.
Didn’t speak of Thrones of Eldraine? Why?
So more than $10k of stuff on the table vs. $10k in Reserved List cards? What would be better investment?
Both
How much for the pallet jack?
if you have to ask you cant afford it
Those boxes look so nice tho 🤤
Hey Rudy!
I've a few boxes of OG Ixalan and Eternal Masters. What do you think about those products? I believe i never heard you talk about it.
No Urzas?
1:20 Rudy, it obviously went down the time spiral, duh.
Amazing, this is like my collection but smaller and without all the vintage box m,i love it! Thanks for sharing Rudy!
Don’t tell me this is true!!!!!!😮😢
Makes no sense to be how sum of the best sets didnt take off like u said, dom rastered, dom united, crimson vow, midnight hunt, love all these sets n i bought alot of these sets, cuz i liked them even if orhers didnt.
06:20 Hamster box, you say? ('-')
We are in a full on collapse , so ALL cards are going to tank . Those collectable one off cards you think are worth thousands , unopened boxes etc etc are also going to tank big time .
They kind of already have over the last 3 years but now we are transitioning back into a free money low interest rate bonanza so buckle up.
I went all in on Metazoo... YOU OWE ME RUDY!!!!
Oh no the consequences of my own actions!!
@@Mactakun but he pumped it so much, made it out to be the next big thing... Now I can't afford my house payments!
@@TCG-Juice If you need the money you invested to pay bills then you were stupid to invest it at all.
NEVER invest money that you need to live, only invest what you can spare when your expenses are already dealt with.
@@NunYurbisI think they're kidding.
There joking forsure lol
ok rudy. i will gladly come by and take the worthless product off your hands. thanks sincerely timmy
Sealed is worthless until eventually there is demand for it…
There will never be demand for these newer sets. Nobody wants this garbage.
@@Chris-ey8zf There is even demand still for Prophecy... not a lot.. but some. Although for Chronicles... yah, not a lot of demand.
Although I expect RoE to hold up decently.
Bad investment long-term .. it's a game meant to play in person and those type of people are fewer and fewer and will only get worse as AI and virtual reality gets better
A lot of boxes have invert EV right now.
Good opportunity to buy into some 2010-2017s
its people like u that are ez to get got bc u think negative ev boxes means its gonna have more value in the future its just not how it works if the cards inside are worthless so is the box
@@RLGMiniMe it would seem the implication was to buy and crack the box to open more value than one spent on it, then sell the singles for profit... E...V... Right?
I collect for mostly the love of the game, but if honest i do also collect for the value of cards,in whicj wotc seem to kill tat wit every reprint.
Love you rudy. God bless you!!!❤❤❤❤
this is low key depressing
if its all worthless i'll take everything on the table for 100$
😂 Rudy buying from his patrons of hoping people buy more magic cause Rudy is a Hasbro shill
He is obviously having financial difficulties. This is new stuff sold at a loss
All new stuff is sold at a loss, because nobody wants it. New MTG is awful
Dude Wtf are you talking about what’s the point of this video I’m so lost
Kept waiting for him to address the title… I still have no idea how it’s relevant
Throughout and at the end of the video he addresses it in subtextual language. Basically, buying and selling sealed product for profit, especially en masse, is not advisable because it's difficult and unpredictable.
Sealed boxes are not a wise investment because they are too volatile to profit from in most cases. It's very similar to day trading stocks.
Sooo this video wasn't about how VT scans could effect modern MTG sealed product?
Rudy what do you pay on the dollar for sealed
He even says 50-70% face value based off ebay sold listings
I would have paid for the boxes of khans and the rest could go to the dumpster 😂
Nice game pieces
I'm here to comment that, I've been watching Rudy's videos on and off since 2016.....when i first got into MTG.....and that he RUINED MY......ha ha, only a bad dad joke. No, I wanted to say I've been watching since 2016 and I never considered it anything more than light entertainment. If I ever spent any money, it was something that I was already looking at / or I ignored Rudy in entirity and just made my own decision.
Sealed is worthless when you make bad choices of course. No brainer.
I never understood "Collecting" at all, y'all just by and let it collect dust to resell later to nostalgic fucks that throw their last $1000 bucks at them for an unsatisfying trip down memory lane
