Hey DM, Im very new to drones and have been watching all your videos. I ordered a Mini 4 Pro but now I'm hearing the mini5 might be coming in Sept. Would you wait?
The mini series has been updated every year so far, so you need to decide what is good for you, the Mini 5 is a rumour for now, but if it does come out, it is likely to come with upgraded or tweaked sensor, minor flight time increase, and under the hood modifications mainly. If you are a casual photographer and video creator then the Mini 4 pro is superb in almost all conditions, if you just want the latest tech then wait for the 5 pro.
Have you run into the issue when trying to use the same DJI RC2, for both the mini 4 and air 3? I only have the one RC2 and my plan was to use it for the mini 4 and also the air 3. But when I try to switch the controller from the mini 4 to the air 3, it won’t work. It tries to pair, but always times out. Cheers, really appreciate your videos.

I was wondering if I was running in C or N mode then? I have to turn to N, then to C to have the indicator showing C. Do you have similar problem in your RC 2?
I'm unhappy with the short notice on 'force to land'. The first change to that setting almost cost me a drone this year when operating under the old way of being able to stretch out the flight time a bit at 20% battery. Fortunately, I was just able to clear the 80' trees around my land zone and get it down about 200' from the Home location.

@@DMProductions thanks...I noticed that for sure...I used to have the Mini 1 and even that one was better with the battery. I always get the fly more package so I have 3 for the Mini 4 pro and I don't do long flights, but I noticed that the battery percentage would go down quickly. I will upgrade the firmware again and see if that fixes it for me. Otherwise I like this drone a lot. The right size for the small jobs I do.
If I wasn’t a die hard 7 year loyal DJI customer…..and just watched this video to be introduced to the product for the first time….i wouldn’t buy it. It really does sound like too much screwing around with updates and such. Reality is it’s not a big deal unless you’re on the road somewhere and you want to get up there and instead you burn through half a battery updating while practicing your best patience.

Another update 8/03...I cannot calibrate compass on RC-1. I go to calibrate compass then hit start then it says it's finished before I even do the figure 8 thingy anybody else have that problem? RC-1 told me to calibrate it.
What about the stupid self drain for the fly batteries I charged them 100% and after 2 weeks they all 5 where around 60% why ??? The rc2 keeps full I searched the internet and I read as a swelling protection it discharge to 96% in 1 day and keep doing this for 9 days until 60% Wtf I charged them all to fly a long distance but that’s not possible I need to charge Max a day before Did you know this
The batteries in the RC2 are different. The drone batteries need to be light, so they use a different chemistry that are more fragile. The best way to destroy the batteries is to keep them empty or fully charged over a long time, that is why they have a self drain function to protect them. But even 2 days at 100% is not good. I always keep the batteries around 50% in storage and charge them to 100% just before flying, often in the car or from a powerbank on my way to the location to keep the fully charged time to a minimum. Even the batteries in the RC2, or any other lithium battery, are best stored with around 50% charge.
People seem to love this drone I don't. I enjoy my Mini 2 more than my Mini 4 Pro.....I wish it didn't even have obstacle avoidance less was more for me. The sensor sucks too for being the 4th version of this model. Mavic 3 Pro's I fly mainly this is like a joke drone quality wise comparison wise.
Still u're fully entitled to disable all obstacle avoidance including VPS vision positioning system infrared downward pointing sensor in DJI Fly app Advanced Safety Settings I can tell 😂😂😂
Not using Mini 4 but a Mavic 3 pro. In Safety, advanced setting down in the menu it's possible to switch off ground sensing. That way You can "park" the drone in the air and pick it with the hand. Commanding descend just before grabbing it and that way "landing" in an area with high grass is no problem. Also did it standing on a raft. Maybe the Mini4 system also has that function. Look around in the Safety menu and do some tests!
@@Stefan_Boerjesson yup…I thought of that after it was too late. I was trying to land it within the reach of my hand…and it kept rising every time I’d tried to grab it. The last attempt to grab it…I lunged and hit the props with my hand …..it started spinning out of control. It fell, bounced off the side of the boat right into the water. I’ve thought of so many ways now I could’ve prevented it. It’s too bad there isn’t some sort of buoyant roll up landing pad the size of a table cloth you could buy just for this purpose.
@@nicholsonjay4724 Your description exactly matches the standard behaviour of both the Mini 3 pro and the Macic 3 pro. A hand is considered as unsuitable for landing. Moving the hand towards the drone, it jumps off. If You persist pulling the left joystick down, the drone will come down, after some time, but it's not very nice/safe. Knowing the system calls for testing functions during safe conditions. Don't improvise when it's a sharp situation.

It really does sound like too much screwing around with updates and such. Reality is it’s not a big deal unless you’re on the road somewhere and you want to get up there and instead you burn through half a battery updating while practicing your best patience.
Hi Darren......I want to order one of your combination packs but the price are in funny money. What's the formula😂😂😂😂😁😁😁😁🤣🤣😎😎.
Hey it will auto convert for you at checkout
This was an excellent video! I was one of those guys that when I checked my firmware it said always up-to-date. Well I did what you voiced on your video and it worked with no problems. Thanks so much. I feel that you were talking directly to me keep up the excellent work.
Awesome thank you
Another update 8/03...I cannot calibrate compass on RC-1. I go to calibrate compass then hit start then it says it's finished before I even do the figure 8 thingy anybody else have that problem? RC-1 told me to calibrate it.
lol today i have App Version 1.13.9 and RC firmware 02.02.0300 LOL (why DJI has diferent version? sn/region/ or what???)
Thought by now you could use that controller on the Mini 2 after all the updates
We need an update for the updates updated,😁
@1:30 Same thing yet again for me, not showing until i go this route.
Glad it worked out
🙂❤👍Thank You 🙂❤👍
You are so welcome
What about the stupid self drain for the fly batteries I charged them 100% and after 2 weeks they all 5 where around 60% why ??? The rc2 keeps full I searched the internet and I read as a swelling protection it discharge to 96% in 1 day and keep doing this for 9 days until 60%
Wtf I charged them all to fly a long distance but that’s not possible
I need to charge Max a day before
Did you know this
The batteries in the RC2 are different.
The Air 3 isn’t going to 01.00.0600 - the Mini 4 has, but not the Air 3???! Also thanks for the video 🤘🏻
my air 3 is still not at 1.00.0600 too
@@maarrcc_travel My problem is that the Air 3 won’t update to 01.00.0600!! The Mini 4 pro is, but not the Air 3.
@@whosthebrightestmonkeyinth348 forgot the not :) have the same problem as you
Hi mate when are you bring out avata 2 luts?
They all ready I’ll drop the video soon ☺️ just updating the website
@@DMProductions perfect 👌 👍
People seem to love this drone I don't. I enjoy my Mini 2 more than my Mini 4 Pro.....I wish it didn't even have obstacle avoidance less was more for me. The sensor sucks too for being the 4th version of this model. Mavic 3 Pro's I fly mainly this is like a joke drone quality wise comparison wise.
I haven’t updated mines for 3 months, it’s perfectly fine so why update, if it ain’t broken then don’t fix it
I just lost my mini 4 pro at the bottom of a very deep river trying to land it in my boat.😢
@@nicholsonjay4724 that is called an Airbed lol
but the ios version still lags behind…
firmware not available yet in my region but flysafe database got updated
