Nice catch! This is a spare apparatus bought by the Chicago Fire Department.
As of 9-14-2020 E255 is still around on CFD’s fleet I seen it yesterday at 69th and Wentworth at the City’s new fleet management Garage.
that rig is an emergency one ladder and it was delivered to the city in 1988
Yes they did as that is an early to mid 90's E-one that is marked e255. The shops added LEDs to the older reserve fire trucks to limit the draw caused by older halogen lights. There is another video on here somewhere of another reserve from the very late 80's with LEDs as well.
I love how they updated the lighting but still kept an old look.
DAmn!! I wish the clear oscilator had a workin bulb in it, would of looked sweet since the rig has no wig-wag headlights!! I hope next time im in chi-town I get to see this ancient rig in service, I have a feeling not too many years left as a spare for this old school truck!! At least they upgraded the flashers with LED units and took out the old halogen lights!
For a second there I thought I was going to see a spare CFD rig with all it's emergency lights working. Nope...but close. lol
Isn't beautiful that raging DETROIT Engine!!!¿
This is an '88. Truck 19's old rig.
Mensch, dass erste Feuerwehrauto aus Amerika , dass nicht blitzt und funkelt wie ein Weihnachtsbaum! ;)
That, sir is an E-One 100ft
That truck is still looking good
Nice truck!!!
Don't put LED's on them? There is LED's as the front red flashers!
Tradition maybe? E252 is even older, it does not have the original Rotators on the roof but does have LEDs on the rear.
E252 was the oldest ladder in the fleet I believe
@@RefrigeratedWaffles2 Yeah it's a 1985 but unfortunately E252 was retired in 2019

The rig is so old there's no lights on it below the cab windshield just the two random circles.
They did not update no lighting.
CFD is so old school
Shop numbering on a spare rig
Then why do they still have the gumballs?
E225 is the reserve truck #. The E doesnt have to with anything like reserve trucks are D231 and egn companys hve the same thing. I had the same ? as you but then a cfd ff told me why.
Who makes that truck?
E-one
Super
E-One is the manufacturer
That's my fire engine lucky 88
That is a spare not a truck company
Why does it say E225 on the truck? Used it to be an engine company?
No it's just a shop number
Ya its the trucks ID number
Its a registration number or something like it?
Yep its shows its shop number so they can keep track of which truck goes to which station and as a person who lives and Chicago i can confirm this
That thing is old

+enginecosquad4 commander No problem, my father had one in his POV when I was a young kid so I remember the sound of the Siren by heart. it sounds a bit like a newer pa300 then a old one, thought.

Da kann man sagen was man will, Chicago ist echt ne geile Stadt und echt schön... Aber ihre Feuerwehren sind einfach echt hässlich ^^
