17) Universal human consciousness can be thought as the climate. The individual mind can be thought of as the weather. The spontaneity of thought blows the winds of eternity.
15) *Profound insight* ~ we are one human organism. While there are many parts, the sum total is our collective consciousness. When we view our disagreements under this canopy, we resolve differences with ease. All individual mind streams flow in this collective consciousness. It is this collective consciousness that gets passed from one generation to the next. I am reading approaching the path by the Dalai Lama if anyone is interested. Really good book. Buddhism is totally misunderstood. It’s all about using logic and reason to train our mind in our pursuit to understand our true nature. It’s perfect. It’s beautiful. Highly recommend if anybody gets a chance to read this.❤❤❤
13) Saturday, August 31, 2024 *short reflection* A consistent daily routine is essential. Not just because I’m a Buddhist, but because I have a traumatic brain injury. The two go hand-in-hand strangely enough. If I’m able to keep a consistent routine, I do not walk around with a low level of irritation that comes about when that routine changes. It’s irritation that sparks into anger at slight provocations. I gained this insight by using mindfulness to examine my past actions and their consequences. I applied logical antidotes. That’s it. We die as we’ve lived. I need to make sure I die with these skills intact. Self reflection, humility, and simple desire to do better the next day. Also continue to infuse each day with the six perfection. It helps to break up your day into six aspects. Continue to build your daily life around the six aspects of the six perfection. Meditating five minutes every hour and taking a time out from technology is also helpful.
10) *attachment leads to unrealistic expectations or exaggerated expectations* *love is expensive and panoramic. Love does not objectify. Love allows space for wholeness.*
8) suffering lead to afflictions which leads to negative karma which leads to more suffering which leads to more afflictions. Thus the wheel. There’s always a chance to break the wheel.
16) *General Introduction:* Mahakala (Great Black One) is a category of male Tantric Buddhist deities. The common function of Mahakala is as a protector (Dharmapala) deity and specifically the primary Wisdom Protector of Himalayan and Tibetan Buddhism. In some cases, Mahakala can also be a meditational deity (ishtadevata) in the highest Anuttarayoga Tantras. For the study of Mahakala there are three important topics: Principal Texts, Principal Systems and Principal Iconographic Forms. There are dozens of different variations and forms of Mahakala. He is typically in wrathful appearance following the Indian model of a Raksha demon. In most occurrences and uses of Mahakala, he is paired with a meditational deity such as Shri Hevajra and as Panjarnata Mahakala, Chakrasamvara and Chaturbhuja Mahakala, Guhyasamaja and Chaturmukha Mahakala. In most cases Mahakala is an emanation, or wrathful aspect, of the principal meditational deity that he is associated with. For instance Panjarnata Mahakala is the most wrathful emanation, or form, of Shri Hevajra. In other situations Mahakala might be a wrathful emanation of Vajradhara or Akshobhya Buddha. Aside from the individual Anuttarayoga Tantras that teach various forms of Mahakala, the principal texts are the Eight Chapter, Twenty-five Chapter and Fifty Chapter Mahakala Tantras. In one specific case, that of Shadbhuja Mahakala of the Eight Chapter Tantra tradition, Avalokiteshvara takes on the form of Mahakala. Therefore, it can be said that the Shadbhuja form, with one face and six hands is a wrathful form of Avalokiteshvara performing the function of a protector.
11) wisdom fear~ purposeful fear that helps us avoid possible catastrophe. Helpful fear the fear that might come around because emerging onto a highway.
14) *This is totally separate* sorry I’m sure people reading my comments like, what the hell is this guy talking about? I have a traumatic brain injury. There is absolutely no way I could do this. I need a consistent daily routine. Without that consistency, I get frustrated. I get angry. I walk around with this low level of irritation that sparks into full-blown rage if provoked. Here’s what’s interesting. I do not feel limited based on this understanding. I feel empowered. I know myself. I did not always have the same level of self-awareness. It took me 43 years to understand the importance of a consistent daily routine. I had many jobs. I was fired from many jobs. I’ve had many friends and I’ve lost many friends. I had to experience the same afflictions over and over and over again before I gained any insight. On the other hand, you spent the first half of your life cultivating courage, bravery, truthfulness trustworthiness, integrity and wisdom. You did so in the most difficult environment imaginable. Do you ever stop and reflect on your good fortune? I know that sounds unbelievably strange and probably mean, but it’s not. We have this one precious human life, and we have to make the most of it regardless of circumstances. Even though we are two different people with two very different afflictions, we’ve walked a very similar path. Just wonder if you appreciate the hunmanness underlining your humanity. Most people are totally oblivious to this. They have not had the good fortune of adverse circumstances. They never develop themselves. They become a part of the human herd. They sacrifice themselves for that same herd completely oblivious to the magnificent qualities of human existence. ‘If we never take the time to stop and listen, how will we ever hear the cadences of the magnificent symphony that is always playing just under the surface of our lives?’ I truly truly truly truly truly truly truly truly truly hope you stop and reflect along your journey❤❤❤❤
1) Ultimate Bodhichitta ~ 1) consider of phenomenon like a dream. 2) examine the nature of unborn awareness 3) The remedy itself is released in its own place 4) set the entirety of the path on the nature of the basis of all 5) in the period after meditation, be a child of illusion
16) try to notice the roots of dispute within yourself. I think this is critical for you, John. You enjoy chaos and disharmony. I think this is because of your traumatic brain injury. I think you’re used to functioning this way in your personal life so you create this in your external life, but it really does harm your fellow humans.
19) **Dear Jesse** from now on, i’m gonna post as much as I want. If you need to ignore me, you can do so by hitting the icon that looks like a gear. ⚙️ I am not doing anything wrong. I am no longer shamed to myself. I am different. Understanding my differences liberates me. Conformity is a prison of our own creation. To whom are we conforming? Who decides these rule ~ the prison guards of culture, academia and technology? What I am doing comes from a place of wisdom and compassion. I don’t always understand the consequences of my actions, but who among us actually knows the future? If the intention is good, the karma ripening is positive.
