“Dhanvantari Krishna” or “Oushadha Krishna” is the name for “Cure”.
Miracles of ailments and diseases getting cured have been reported by thousands of devotees every year after the consumption of Oushadha (Ancient Ayurvedic Medicinal Preparation) @ Sree Krishna Swamy Temple, Edavetty, which is more than 5000 years old.
Visit the Temple on August 1st, 2022 to have this wonderful ancient Ayurvedic Oushadha (Medicine) and seek the blessings of Lord Krishna.
Oushadha Seva is the ritual of consuming the Oushadha (Wonderful Ancient Ayurvedic medicinal paste) at the temple once a year. The medicine is served on the leaves of a Banyan tree. The medicine is to be taken while repeating the prayers chanted by Acharyas, facing the North side of Nalambalam. The ritual will be completed by consuming the medicinal paste (medicine). The best practice is to consume the Oushadha (medicine) on an empty stomach. It is better to avoid Non-veg food one week prior to and after taking medicine.
Edavetty Sree Krishna Swamy temple is located at Edavetty near Thodupuzha in Idukki district, Kerala. The temple is dedicated to Bhagavan Sri Krishna and he is worshipped here in the form of Dhanwantari. The temple is famous for #oushadhaseva, an Ayurvedic procedure of consuming. It is held on the 16th day of Karkidaka Masam (mostly on August 1 or on July 31)
As per popular belief, Nakula, one of the Pandava brothers, built this temple during their exile period in the Mahabharata. It is said that Ashwini Kumaras, the twin physicians in Hindu Puranas, gave their blessings to Nakula during the consecration of the temple.
