" If I get pulled off this case because you look like Woody Allen, I will fixate on you as the object of my destruction,..And you will NEVER feel safe in your world again " This scene, and this line, with the serious facial expression, made me an instant Don Johnson fan for life. Famous for being a pretty boy, but a helluva actor

I saw this at the cinema when it came out - there was nothing much on that night - I was no Johnson fan - I just needed to chill out for 2 hours so bought a ticket. But heck what a film and what an actor - I changed my mind about Johnson. I remembered this scene.

I think this is my all time favorite movie scene. It speaks volumes to how hard it can be to just cut out the crap at times. Poor Mr. Noodle! I like all of Don Johnson's characters. He's very artistic yet macho

If memory serves, right after this scene, the FBI agent (played by William Forsythe) that Beck (Johnson) partners with, who knows he has to pass a psych test to be able to continue working the case, seems surprised when Beck remains working the case. Beck tells him something to the effect that "Me and the doctor got along just fine", to which the FBI agent replies "What did you do, threaten him and his family?", and the look on Beck's face is priceless.

One of my favorite lines from this movie is when he gets to the crime scene at the beginning of the movie and he says "I'm glad to see somebody's out here crushing crime. Personally I was hoping to get one full night's sleep before Christmas. FAT FUCKING CHANCE." GAWD THAT LINE CRACKS ME UP.

@TheBossjdhogg i wasnt dissing his acting ability, there is no doubt he coulda been HUGE, he's that talented. this scene is a testimony to what could have been. if you're "here" watching"THIS" ... you're old enough to realise that actors have to be lucky, even for those who have already made it. its good we got this much of him, along with miami vice.
    take care

Don is faaaaaaar from just a pretty face. He's is incredible actor.Always was. It's just that people ,after watching Miami Vice, just outright refused to accept him in jeans 👖 or any other clothing which weren't Italian. Don once said, they were looking to lynch him for wearing jeans and boots. They must have forgotten that he was from Kansas.

In the right roles, Don Johnson is a great actor. He’s the Steve McQueen of the 80s/90s. He’s really laughing in that scene because the shrink looks like a dork! At least Woody Allen had talent! When Don is angry he goes into Dennis Hopper mode!

The cuts on Don's face move around. I would have laughed too when Woody Allen asked to be seen as just one of the guys. I've been asked at work why I laugh for no readily apparent reason and I can't tell them why because it's better to thought of as some kind of weirdo then get out right fired for telling them the truth.

one of the many little gems in this movie, this and a few others MAKE this flick. i suggest everybody get it and watch it. don johnson CONVINCES in the down and out cop routine, one of the best of the 80's-90's cop movies. right up there with mel gibson in lethal weapon.IMHO.

I love Don Johnson in this movie…great, complex character. There is a love story that is ambiguous but very interesting. Too bad we don’t see the director’s cut and we don’t know the real ending.
As for this scene: great. The doctor, instead of building a relationship starting from hilarity is selfcentered and resentful.

@MpowerdAPE You were a bit harsh, i think he had very decent acting career, his movies are mostly really very good, even if not succesfull (take Tin Cup, film was trashed by the ciritics, but it is very good movie, another example Paradise, Cease Fire or maybe greatest neonoir out there The Hot Spot). In 90s he gain some weight (drinking?) but Nash Bridges was pretty succesfull, (i don't like it too much). IMO he is capable of great awards worthy acting, maybe he will resurrect his career.

Its a shame Don Johnson hair didn't look like this in seasons 4 & 5 in Miami Vice, in those seasons his hair was far too long and shaggy, in this film around the time they did season 5 he looks like the old Crockett between seasons 1-3.
