Indie Game Devlog #2 // New Objective, Terrain, & Levels!

In this devlog, I add some things centered around the new objective in the game - helping the ragdoll foot soldier conquer enemy land by reaching the flag. I also try to make levels slightly more interesting with terrain pieces. Finally, I show some levels and what solutions might look like.

This is a 2D physics-based puzzle game I'm developing with Unity. You are (now) tasked with building siege engines to transport the ragdoll foot soldier across enemy territory. Fed up with his siege engine genius being ignored due to his low status in feudal society, our protagonist has decided to single-handedly take over kingdoms and stuff.
To play, drag objects from an inventory into the scene and connect them together. Press play to watch chaos ensue. Create catapults, trebuchets, vehicles, and much more!

You could add terrain elements like a swamp/puddle and sink-sand, in the swamp/puddle your movements become more slippery and yeah, the sinking sand is just that you can't stand in it for to long, would make some fun puzzle's as well.... but good job already! looks fun!

Great idea! I hadn't even considered changing the physical properties of terrain. I'm gonna make different "biomes" for different stages, maybe I could incorporate it through that somehow, like have slippery ice patches or something.

This is really good and the UI is definitely very clean! Is the game going to be for pc, mobile,...? Also, it's a very good sign if you like your own game because often other people will like it even more because they didn't have to spend so much time on the game.

Thanks! I cleaned up the UI a little more which will be in the next devlog. And I was going to go for mobile first, but now the plan is to focus on the PC version and release on mobile later.

Noticed that you removed the back peg of the chair. I think instead of removing it entirely have it set so that the line and the invisible peg form a connection and have a special connector skin for it to display when attached to something on the bacm
