Claire Holt was going through some personal family stuff at this time so she asked the writers to write her out as a series regular so if she does come back, its only as a special guest star for a few episodes per season
@@spartacusx9349 she was trying to have a family for years, so in a way Rebekah really relates to her personally in some ways. Now she finally has a beautiful family she wanted. I was so happy to see the news when she finally made it public, she shared her personal story as well.
@teamxloadin3128 Yes, it does. if the individual is using a psychological mechanism to cope with it. K kinda hit the nail on the head about the "mask of civility"
Claire Holt had to go back to Australia and reunite with her family at that time, she asked the producers to come back in the show only as special guest in few episodes per season
Rob, Bryce, and Zuff, Rebekah is gone. After this episode Claire Holt announced on Social Media she was leaving the series, as she wanted to move back to Australia and spend quality time with her family.
Klaus has been a monster to his siblings but Rebekah isn't without fault. She saw firsthand what Mikael was like, was even going to kill him. I don't think Klaus had a right to kill her but he did have a right to feel betrayed.
dude was never trying to kill her .. he was making a point of for terror he felt cuz what she did. klaus always admits he loves Elijah and Rebekah the most
Klaus: “You’re every bit the monster that I am.. or worse.” Bryce: “Mmm I don’t think he’s worse than you” Oh my sweet, summer child 😂😂😂 Elijah is DEFINITELY worse than Klaus
Not really. The only original brother that is worse than klaus is lol but klaus probably still has the highest body count since he has been alive the longest
No he isn't... there is no quantifiable way you can back up that argument if you've watched the show and have heard all the stories regarding Klaus... Even after knowing the full story of Elijah's bad deeds, it didn't even come close to the amount of shit that Klaus has done, and they are pretty far apart in terms of reasoning behind said actions... Let's not kid ourselves, Elijah is no saint, but the argument that he is "worse" than Klaus doesn't hold water at all
I think the only thing that can make Elijah worse than Klaus is that with Elijah you don't expect some actions that at first seem out of character, but in reality he is willing to do even the most despicable things to protect his family. With Klaus you simply expect despicable actions.
14:51 This scene makes more sense and is more impactful on a rewatch. The context of what transpires in later seasons, especially in S2, gives it new meaning. 18:56 Rebekah’s lines here are iconic. I wish she’d gotten more scenes and substantial dialogue, but I realize the actress took some time away from the show.
So while Claire Holt & Rebekah are not gone forever (Rebekah didn't die after all, and this show incorporates flashbacks regardless), this was her leaving the TVDU as a regular. She had other priorities going on in her life. That being said, her relationship with the producers and the other cast stayed strong and she's still incorporated quite well to the extent they could figure out. As to the arguments about whether what she did to Klaus was right... Mikael abused Klaus for about 20 years in terms of living together and raising him. For the next thousand years of distant abuse in the form of hunting, Klaus always kept Rebekah around whenever she was awake (and even when she wasn't, most of the time at his hands) and made a sport out of belittling her and killing those she loved outside the family. I do firmly believe Rebekah's primary desire was to chase Klaus away for a little bit and get some freedom from him, and that whatever part hoped for worse on him was miniscule and understandable. If Klaus can stab her to make her afraid, or stab Elijah with Tunde's blade as payback for the day before, or (even though arguably she does want this) force her to leave New Orleans and the expected nibling & Elijah & Marcel as payback, then no, I don't think her measure of seeking back some control over her own life over 100 years ago makes her terrible. Granted, in terms of her own waking years, that was less than 20 years ago for her own emotional journey, but considering he stole 60 years right before and 100 years right after, my sympathy for him on this is truly limited. Also, Klaus can say Elijah is just as bad. He can say the siblings have always treated him as less than because he's not Mikael's biologically. But they chose him over Mikael a thousand times over, and he made them regret it, and they have chosen him over each other and their other siblings before, too. Elijah still feels guilt for his inability/"weakness" in not protecting Klaus from Mikael's abuse better- that's why he's seeking to "redeem" Klaus. Elijah is not innocent, he has committed foul acts and the suits don't change that, but he does not tend to kill at the minor provocations Klaus does, nor does he seek relentless control over his loved ones. Yes, in large part that's because he wasn't the target of Mikael's cruelty the same way, but that still doesn't make Klaus' actions excusable. Davina, babe, I truly hate the Ancestors for what they did to you.
Is it just me or Marcel is putting the blame on klaus like he called Michael into town like dude you called him and he literally killed almost everyone. Plus the girl you love.
Klaus just being done with that fucking day, ignoring Marcel and going up he stairs is so iconic. He is so emotionally defeteaded he doesnt even give a fuck for a fight. "you are the one who exhiled your sister!" yeah, see, Klaus is complicated. She is his fave sibling, he loves her to death. as much as he told her to leave, he wanted her to stay. He has always been terrified of her actually finding love and leaving him alone. Is any of what he did to her fair? no. but that is just how Klaus is. His fear of abandonment and people not loving him or caring about him and abandoning him, take him away from the sweet guy he was when he was a human. But as we saw...at one point he did accept Rebekah&Marcel...when he saw they truly loved each other, that they all wouyld remain together...he was happy to let her be happy.
I doubt Rebekah will be gone for long considering she’s an original narcel staying behind is risky but obviously he had to stay cause it makes it more interesting to watch
This isn’t a spoiler, but they practice ancestral magic, the magic they use comes from the ancestors. So when Celeste died she became an ancestor that’s why the spell is still up. They don’t go to the “other side” when they die. They go to the ancestral plane. Bonnie practise spiritual magic
there is a lot of really good after and some great episodes but imo the show never fully recovers from the reduced appearances of claire holt. part of why i think s1 is the best of the originals.
I agree that alot of things klaus does doesn't have a real explanation but being dagger is nun compared to calling the one person who use to beat on him for literally no reason and tries to kill him everytime he runs into him 💯 so that "but u dagger her" shouldn't even be mentioned when it comes to that she couldve at least got revenge in the same way as he did her
Trying to downplay being daggered and left in a box is crazy especially when he literally killed all of Rebekah’s lovers belittled her and her desires, leaving her with no real life not to mention she’d been daggered for damn near a century and that was just the longest time not the first. You saying it doesn’t have an explanation it does the right word is it’s inexcusable. Klaus went thru what he did for at best 20 years Rebekah centuries.
