This is another Gun Restoration video of a handgun is really bad shape and in dire need of attention. This is a 1936 Kilgore G-Man cap gun. The next two restorations will be alot easier than this one. Thanks for watching and the link to our new DIY channel is below.

I cannot believe how close I was on the video you found this. I said I thought it was a Luger with no barrel at first but the shape was wrong, and it turned out to be a Luger like cap gun. I am proud of myself.
Thanks for showing us this great restoration.

I also after looking at it more thought it was maybe a Lugar just because of the back top part of the gun it’s just like a Lugar but it’s just yeah like you said it’s a toy gun made to look like one would’ve been really cool if it would’ve stayed complete but from the beginning the barrel is broken which is why I probably ended up in the river thanks for watching

@@TheKinzlerBros Yeah, maybe a kid a long time ago broke it then just threw it in the river.

Thank you very much James that was a very nice comment some of my practices are probably not looked up on on some of the people in the restoration community but with the state of the gun I did not see trying to do it nicely I just had to use the wire brush and deal with the consequences because it was never going to be an actual gun and get a toy gun again but anyway thank you for watching

Oh yes this is back when they made stuff really well really well-built and built with good products and good steel I mean toy guns today or plastic back then they were all steel and they had the weight of a real gun really impressed with how they were built back then

Though I was born in 1954, my Dad had been in the US Navy out in the Pacific as far as landing in Japan. For my 11th birthday he gave me a gun and taught me how to shoot (outside LA in the Mohave Desert). We’d cut work and school on Mondays, pack a styrofoam ice box full of sandwiches, water, and drinks and just go. He considered it an important part of my education for when my time came to serve. He wanted to give me an edge by starting me young. The gun he gave me was a Savage, break action, over under, .22 rifle on top, with a 20 gauge shotgun bottom barrel.
M1s with the 5 shot clip were in the gun catalogues I used to ponder over. I always wanted one. I did hear tell that sometime around the 1980s an old WWII arms dump was remembered dug into an Austrian hill side. Unannounced a group of “anonymous” (in the know) individuals just went in and removed it! Evidently cases of arms, including M1s, all greased up and brand spanking new were amongst the”haul”. Can anybody else verify this tale? RAHG

I think it turned out good for the state it was in when I started and I should’ve known that when you take all this rust off things are going to fall off of it and it’s not gonna look like you thought it would cause the rust masks so much of the parts that keeps it together and make it look like it’s a hole but then you clean it thanks search for off thank you for watching
