Cory Johnson & Mikhail Ivanov - Resurrections

This is a cover of "Resurrections", composed by Lena Raine, from the 2018 platformer Celeste. This arrangement was made for the August 2020 Dwelling of Duels competition. I recruited Mikhail Ivanov of Marshall Art to help me out on guitars and he provided the leads (including the insane Badeline counterpoint guitars around the end).
I wanted to go all out with this arrangement because I found Celeste a few months ago in the middle if a rough patch (still ongoing) and it has provided quite a bit of solace to me as I deal with the anxiety and depression resulting from said rough patch. It's become one of my all time favorite games, and I highly recommend it to everyone.

honestly I just saw a thumbnail of Madeline and Badeline having a guitar duel and clicked on it without thinking about what exactly the video was I was clicking on, but I'd say that decision making process served me well here.

For those that haven’t played the game. Celeste is story about a girl named Madeline who suffers from anxiety and depression, while she climbs a difficult and challenging Mountain. For most of us it seems to have found us when we’re in a rough patch in our life. I myself can say for the most part this game helped me through that. The beautiful game design and the music gives this game one of the best games I’ve ever played. To see people do covers of any music in this game is astounding to see. Celeste is not a popular game, but to those who’ve found it.. Hopefully you can agree with me and saying this game changed you for the better. C:

Holy shit, I've been anxiously awaiting more content from you for the better part of a decade now, and Celeste is one of my favorite games too, especially in part due to the soundtrack.

I also played Celeste after a rough patch, and this game has helped so so much (especially the feather scene and everything after Starjump) with the fallout from that.
The music is especially special to me, and your rendition of it is definitely a joy to listen to.
