Welcome to India and Southeast Asia. However, if you go to Japan or Dubai (Dubai is still Asia right?) I think airbags are a must.

Here in brasil, very recently was approved a law to make cars with airbags, until very recently, the most basic versions didn't have airbags, and, these basic versions are the ones that sells more
In Brazil only in 2014 the law was aproved to make all the cars with airbag and ABS . The most selling cars like Fiat Mille , VW Gol, GM Celta are very old projects and unsafe cars . It's a sad reality of underdeveloped countries of BRIC.

Here in the UK, the law actually requires all new cars to have airbags. That law has been in force since 1995.
at least they have the seatbelts however they need to start getting an airbag

Haha funny. I meant drugs. While asian cars are definitely not volvo, they still are very safe.
Let me list a few (alot) of cars that are manufactured in Asia:
Japan:
Honda
Also manufactures Acura
Nissan
Also manufactures Infiniti
Mitsubishi
Mazda
Subaru
Toyota
Also manufactures Lexus
Korea:
Hyundia
Kia
All these manufacturers DO give a crap about security and safety. These are all very popular car manufacturers too. Plus if the manufacturers did not care about safety then the cars wouldn't be able to be sold due to safety requirements in america. (assuming you're an american)
They do this to decrease the population in hope of them not populating so much in order for "the better" countries to have their needs met.

GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.
It's basically population control by making these cars for the Indian market. There's a reason the exact same cars (excluding the Tata Nano - which is India only) score 4 or 5 star ratings in the developed world and the Indian counterparts are lacking a lot of the structural integrity and safety features

Hilmi Albums other countries have sub-brands from an actual brand from a different country, one example Ford Europe even though Ford is from the United States. in the Czech Republic they made their own Toyota models, and as far as we all know Toyota is from Japan. Nissan USA and Nissan Mexico also have their own Nissan models. have you ever heard of the VW Fox? Volkswagen is from Germany and the Volkswagen Fox was made by Volkswagen Brazil. yes it's pretty weird that other countries have their own models on brands from other countries.
