Abandoned Sunny Bay Hotel - Agios (San) Stefanos. Urban Exploring Tlog 6

Set on the side of a hill above the centre of Agios Stefanos is Sunny Bay Hotel which has been abandoned for a number of years (possibly since 2014 or earlier) and I have been told it was only open for short period.
UPDATE Thanks to new information supplied by viewers I now know it opened in about 2002 and closed around 2009. Holidays there were offered via Thomas Cook and was an all inclusive (which is unusual in San Stefanos). When abandoned the hotel was left with all its furniture, beds made up and drinks still behind the bar. It was originally known as the Corfu Asteria (Corfu Star)

Agios (San) Stefanos is a small fishing village in north west Corfu, about 6 miles from Sidari, and about 2 miles from Arillas.

Thank you for exploring and sharing this Trish- my friend and I were in Agios Stefanos a month ago and wondered what this beautiful derelict building was! Yes what a waste :(

According to internet chat it was a German owned hotel which went bankrupt in 2006/2007.
Left with all furniture and even a stocked bar

When I worked here on the island 2002 we had JMC (Thomas Cook) UK guests there and it was known as Corfu Asteria

Me and my mum and dad when we've holidayed at San Stefanos call it Colditz or Alcatraz
