Our tiels have a toy where I hide seeds under wooden plugs with a handle on them, so they have to pick up the plugs to get to the food. They have become pretty good at throwing the plugs across the room, the plugs often go missing for a while if the birdies throw them really far 😆
YES! The dog puzzles are honestly a game changer. I have found that if i let them watch me prepare it for them they are more keen to wanna check it out. a kabob for leafy greens is a great idea because when i add them to the chop they can get a little mushy! Thank you David!
Interesting how you mention that! The boys are the same. They are only interested if they see me prep it first otherwise they are less keen! Hope they enjoy!
I want to add we got some small doll furniture they can open/close and get millet out, and we have avout 5 or 6 trays on the ground at all times (your spouse Sophie has great inspiration for that) and exchange them weekly. It's so fun seeing them enjoy new things, get new textures on their beaks and feet, and they have even adjusted to broccoli and fresh salad leaves thanks to it looking interesting. :D

Everyone loves a buffet! So sorry to be that guy again (I know I’ve done it before in one of your comments!) but onion isn’t the best for them! If they love shredding it’s awesome you could transfer that behaviour to something with similar texture!
Hi , i have a doubt that my cocktail is nearly 6 week old , still having the hand feed formula . I try to wean the feeding by trying very small chopped veggies and fruits , also try millet sprays and seed bricks , keeping two water dispenser one is automatic and another one is open one keeping a tray full of seeds . He/She only interested in that millet spray , that also not too much but atleast try to crack it and have it , some times a little seeds , but not yet interested in veggies , fruits and even water . What you suggest for me , i am still giving formula feed for him every day but would like that he can have atleast water and some veggies with that .
Hello sir! I have a question about parrots' breath during their first flight. I have two Indian ringnecks. They are 10 and 11 months old. They are not tamed. They afraid of people including me. Today, I released them in my room in order to see how they behaves during the flight. After 40 seconds or 1 minute approximately, they landed on the branch. One of them was breathing with difficulties like a man who did not run for many years. I feed them with sunflower seeds every day. One day I gave them apple and another day carrot. I read on the internet that it may be kind of disease. Size of the cage is 80 cm long; height is 70 cm and 52 cm wide. I think this size is enough for two parrots. I am worried about their health too much. Would you advice anything else? Thanks
Hey there, So firstly you could consider a vet check up to make sure they are ok! But if they are unused to flying of course they are going to be tired by it! Imagine if someone asked you to run when you’ve barely had the chance to practice it! Also from the sounds of it their diet is also non ideal, sunflower seeds are ok in moderation but if that’s all they are getting they likely need improvement there! I’d recommend researching a better diet, doing some training with them and also getting them used to exercise !!

You know what I mean though right? When you buy a bulb of garlic, not onion, the external dry paper like husk.
Yeah I know the stuff! The risk is low but if you do notice any trouble I’d stop immediately!

He’s still a little young to be off formula! Keep with it and slowly introduce other things!
