  • Powder measure stands are designed to be bolted to bench tops or to sidewalls. However, this results in permanency of position and loss of versatility. Inline Fabrication Quick Mounts are cumbersome for such small footprint items. But here is a solution hack involving a mix of reloading and tool manufacturers to give us the flexibility and versatility we so desire...

    That's pretty cool Cookie. I took an 18" pine round, covered the bottom with felt and mounted an RCBS LIL DANDY, Redding 10X and RCBS Uniflow equally around the outside, each on its own stand. With a 25 lb sack of shot in the middle it is very solid and stable and allows each measure to operate very consistently. And I can slide it around and rotate it into any position I want on an oak desk I use for a powder station. Thanks for posting on YT!

      That's pretty much what I did except for the shot bag. I routered some areas on under side of the wood and filled them with molten lead before I put the felt on the bottom... very stable works great!
      Like you said... move it around on the bench as needed.

    I got a pretty thick wooden Ikea cutting board and screwed my powder measure stand and RCBS bench prime to it. I can move the board around and clamp it wherever I want to my reloading bench, it works pretty well and is non permanent.

    Have the same RCBS powder measure but I don't use a stand . I just set my tray with all my cases in it on the bench and hand hold the measure and dump the powder into each case mouth.

    The only thing wrong with that stand is the lack of real mounting holes. I have mine mounted to a cheap board which I can clamp to a table when I need it. Love your design better.

    • @FortuneCookie45LC
      @FortuneCookie45LC  6 месяцев назад +1

      @texpatriot8462 - The board and the C-clamp on the kitchen table - a jar of brass, one pound of powder, one box of 100 primers, and a box of bullets - trot out the die set and have at it...it's the way reloading was done for decades all across this land...and it still does the job for us... Good reloadin' to ya, Steve

    Nice stand. Nice setup. Many years ago, I welded a couple scraps of angle to make a stand, then added a hinge and mounting plate. When I’m done with the loading block and there’s still powder in the measure, I can tip it backward and pour out that powder. But it’s ugly. You make me want to upgrade.😉
