I was reading Tintin - Les Cigares du Pharaon just today, and realised that this song title actually makes a reference to that story. One could have knocked me over with a feather!
I had the progressive record store play this for me in the store before buying. I knew the label, but not the performer. Needless to say, I was pleased. It was on loop on autoplay for months and months afterwards. Never been replicated. Not much commenting on the drumming. He's a higher level of Bruford, kind of. Daniel Dennis. Extreme clarity, precision, and intention.
Daniel Denis is one of the best drummers out there I feel, along with guys like Vander, Bruford, Williams etc. His feel and suspense is amazing, always creative and musical, plus heavy. Present's first album is another brilliant album from the band, but the drumming really stood out.
The singing at 1:35, I wish they explored more of that operatic art rock of immense doom... more voice, but I can't complain---it still blows my mind all these years later... this was the coolest prog-thing I'd heard that just reeked of metal. but was much cooler... love it

is this satanic black metal?
Not quite.
Probably more: SATANIC BLACK PROGRESIVE
Well Yes, but actually no
C'est de la transe intérieure.
La musique satanique c'est toute la musique commerciale actuelle pour portails organiques.
La musique satanique n'a rien à voir avec la musique, elle est purement commerciale.
Là c'est de la musique dans le vrai sens du terme.
