  • Comparing the Metabo HTP EC914S to other pancake compressor for size, weight, loudness, and quality. The Metabo is very impressive with 200 PSI and 4.0 SCFM. It is about as noisy as other pancakes, but weights about 10 lbs more, all within the same form factor. So for about $100 more, you get a very impressive machine.

    Great compressor

Can you adjust the cutoff pressure, like setting the motor to stop at 150psi?

I don’t see any obvious way of doing this on the compressor provided by the manufacturer. There is the usual regulator for controlling the pressure to the tool. Are you worried about the high internal pressure? Having 200 psi is the benefit because you get to “cheat” and force more air volume into the tank which reduces cycle time

@@handyhomerepairs i was looking to extend the lifetime of the motor by not forcing it to run to 200psi but you made a valid point 😁

Everything about this compressor feels sturdy so I have a feeling it will last.

@@blipblop92 I was thinking it likely reduces the run time by keeping a higher pressure, at the cost of harsher mechanical forces on the compressor. Here, a stateside company would have crews using them, abusing the shit out of them, making sure they were CONTINUOUS duty machines.
I just cant imagine the Chinese doing that. Maybe they test it for a while, but I've always felt that distance in miles equaled distance in concern.
I got this to use with a plasma cutter, tho I'll obviously use it for other things.

I just bought one today because I decided not to be murdered by my old rusted out air compressor tank

Lol. It’s a great compressor for the size. I run framing nailers, floor nails, etc and it can always keep up

Me too just bought one at Lowe’s for a discount $50.00 of original price of $250.00. I just paid $200.00. I am worry about the noise been too loud. From what I read from tons of feedback from Amazon & Lowe’s there were two constant and persistent observations from owners and they were how loud this compressor is and how well is this compressor is. Once the compressor is delivered I will find out.

I didn’t notice it being any louder than other pancake compressors. If you run any of them inside a house they are loud though. That’s why I got the California air one but it doesn’t really have enough air to use larger tools like the Metabo. The Metabo is great and I have been happy with it for what it is, a “tank”

@@handyhomerepairs is there a thermal reset button..? mine was plugged into a washer and dryer plug in and it wont turn on

@@user-qy1uz1iy6q I looked at my unit and did not see a fuse or any type of reset. Is it a high amp circuit over 20 amps and could have burned out the motor? Not sure what else to try. I looked through the manual and there was not anything about resetting
