Dr. Goobie, I've been watching you for months now. Even before you came out as a neurosurgeon. I'm a plastic surgery resident, I have one final year to go. I have already decided I am quitting medicine for good. Right after I finish my residency, I guess, mostly because I am too scared to quit when I am so close to the finish line. I know the finish line is arbitrary and means nothing to anyone, especially if I no longer practice as a surgeon, but I am too scared to not finish after having invested so much into it. I wanted to be a reconstructive surgeon, to give back form and function of their limbs to my patients. Your analogy, of the house with a leak in the roof is exactly what I have been experiencing. I don't need to bore you with the details of how unhappy, unfulfilling work seems for me, you clearly have figured it out. I also work within a system where I am forced to ignore patient safety and decide to practice in a way that is most lucrative for the university hospital. Value based medicine is non-existent. I am my absolute happiest walking around in forests or swimming in lakes. I, too, make granola in pajamas and I am grateful. You have validated my experience in so many ways (btw. my dad is a neurosurgeon so I grew up wanting to be one too). After I quit, I'm planning on becoming a psychotherapist, being in nature and writing novels. I'm definitely getting a dog. Every day I go to work, i feel it hurting my soul. But your videos help me power on through. Thank you for your courage.
Hello friend who is suffering as a plastic surgeon 👋❤️ sometimes our current positions in life are not aligned with our fate or why we came to this existence. I too am a son of a doctor. While I was in college, I wanted to study philosophy, write poetry, and do acting on a stage. Due to economic factors, I chose to follow in my father’s footsteps even though deep down in my heart I knew I was betraying myself. That led to 20 years of suffering. I did help other people along the way and I hurt some people too. But I hurt me most of all. Now I’m doing what I knew I needed to do all this time. I hope you can follow your heart and be true to yourself. With much love, Goobie ❤️❤️❤️
only nature can heal/help you.... go embrace it if you can... it does not matter where you live... start with little things... walking in the woods, fields, open terrain... anything.... go swim if you can... water is magic... try to define a hobby for you .... discover your passion... and spend time accordingly... it does not have to be anything causing cost...
Truly an enchanting place. Decades ago when i lived in Washington, my brother & I did this trek as an overnight. We camped at the top. Next morning a storm set in & we had to hike all the way out in pouring rain. Loved re-living this through your wonderful videography. Thanks so much.
Wow, what beautiful scenery! But quite challenging too with all the rocks. It's kind of like life, you have to believe you can do it, but also choose your steps carefully.
Thank you for sharing this beautiful video. Never in my wildest dreams would I ever be able to undertake a hike like this. You have just shown me how magnificent our planet is in its natural splendour. There’s something in the sound of running water that cleanses the spirit. Thank you for taking me along on your trip. ❤❤❤❤❤
Tears welling up in me. What you did, you didn't have to in front of the whole World help billions of people. This is your gem, treasure to us and I thank you. May the Force b with you each and everyday. May Universe shower down Love & Light each and everyday during this period of time in your life. Take care! We LoVE u Very Much
Hiya Goobie 👋Your sense of Wonder, adventure and rock clambering elevated my discovery of the Enchantments through you to pure Mountain Goat status! Thank you, my friend.✨🙏🏼✨
"Ah, you can't always get what you want, no, no, baby You can't always get what you want, you can't now, now You can't always get what you want But if you try sometimes you just might find You just might find that you You get what you need, oh yeah Ah yeah, do that" Mick and Keith told us that, too.🤘 Doobie careful on those climbs!❤ Beautiful share.🙏
17 October 1973 at Vorst National in Brussels….Billy Preston on keyboards, Trevor Lawrence on saxophone, Steve Madaio on trumpet, and Mick Taylor on lead and slide…..it was played in the middle of the set…..greatest Stones lineup ever 🥂
There`s nothing like that at all here where I`m at so I truly enjoy seeing this incredible beauty! It`s like I`m actually there. Thank-you Dr. Goobie and Whiskey Rye.
Day 11 of plant based diet - tons of fruits, vegetables, beans, and lentils - limiting sodium intake to 500 - 700 mg daily. Even with good exercise and sweating in the Phoenix desert (still 105 each day), I haven’t had 1 day where I felt off. Probably means I have a crap ton of extra salt stored away. Never eat fast food, but I do eat a lot of meat and go out to eat often where they probably hammer the salt in. This diet has been quite eye opening so far.
The world is beautiful. I see too many posts of Europe and other places. Maybe it's just me, but i dont see as many posts in the USA. we forgot how beautiful and all we have in the USA. it would take a lifetime for someone see it all the hidden beauties and wonders around where we live. I've been to the canyon, Yosemite or Yellowstone. and we hear about it all time. I gotta get out there.
Goobie....Thank You for Another Magnificent Hiking Video......Oh My Goodness....COLCHUCK LAKE (2:13) is An ABSOLUTE BEAUTY! ♥♥♥There is something about setting your CONTINUOUS GAZE on something So BEAUTIFUL IN NATURE...And Feeling It Into the Depth Of Your Soul!! It just gives you an Inner JOYFUL feeling! Truly Natural Work of Art!!! REQUEST: Could you please make your Videos-on-loop of these MAGNIFICENT SCENES (2:13, 41:34, 42:58, 52:15). Thank You Very Much!❤
As Goobie ponders about his life He climbs the mountains oh so high Sunshine, blue sky opened his eyes Flowers, rivers cleared his mind May you find what your heart desires And live your life with passion and fire ~peach🍑💖
I love what your doing you have time for yourself and love the people around you more and nature God's creation it's beautifully perfect and love life to the fullest and make time slower.
Dear Dr. Goobie..Hiking brings us close to nature, thank you for helping me to stay focus on the truly good things in life. I had to get out of the system to keep my sanity. Thank you again😊
Thank you for taking us on this beautiful adventure! I shared it with one of my college friends (who now lives in Wisconsin) because this was a favorite place from her youth. She spent time here with her late father and sisters, and she still has the watercolor my boyfriend at the time painted of her sister looking down on Colchuck Lake from her sitting spot. ❤
I am Korean born and leaving in South Korea. I don't know why but feel like you are my old friend. We never met. You look very familiar. I have been watching your youtube videos which have been in a way very reliving to my agonies in life. Looking at the scenic view at around 52:32, I wish I could sit over there and have a heart to heart talk with you. Thank you Goobie.
Hello friend from South Korea 🇰🇷 👋❤️ I’m grateful my videos brought you some relief. We all need relief in this world we live in. We are old friends from a time before we can remember ✌️❤️
Very interesting what you tell us about salt and sweating. When I used to ride the Pt. Reyes coastal trails here in California, it was always important to keep my horse supplied with electrolytes on day rides of @18 miles. I believe horses and humans have similar nutritional needs. 🤗👍
When I ride my horse down a steep grade on a hill, I zigzag so our weight doesn’t act on making us ski. And our bodies are sideways and slow the velocity. Thank you Mr. Goobie❣️🤩🤗
Brooks shoes hurt my toes, I have to use some wide Vans now… more minimal for me. I heard that Topo or Altra are good for your feet because they have wide toe box, but wide Vans seem good enough for my feet 😊
We should all share our journey with others. These hikes in nature are magnificent. I rarely get to the mountains as I live in south Florida and my hikes at the ocean would be equally wonderful for others. Food for thought! 😊
It’s interesting that you turn your camera around to show where you started, from across the lake. It must be amazing to be walking and climbing over these boulders that are so much heavier than you are! You of course are moving as a result of your own volition. I think about and wonder about the glacier that scattered all of those boulders? Very wondrous and beautiful. Thank you for sharing your experience.🤗🤩❤️
❤ You can't always get what you want, no you can't always get what you want.. But if you try sometime, you get what you need." The Rolling Stones Beautiful hike, thanks for sharing it with us. ❤
Wow! Enchantment through hike is such an accomplishment! I’ve been applying for the lottery for many years and could not get one, and now I wonder if I can do this hike as I am now 70. There was an accident couple of years ago where several Korean American hikers lost their lives due to avalanche at the Aasagard as you may have heard. Thanks to show this video of hiking the boulder field to the pass.
I’ve only gone up to Colchuck lake. I also have never won the lottery for the enchantments. And there is no way in hell I’m doing this in one day. You’re awesome.
Thank you Goobie for taking us on another wild ride thru the countryside. I'm at home today as I needed to reset and regroup and it was just the thing. I'm wondering if those water mites can actually hurt you if you go swimming in the high mountain pools. They sound a bit nasty.
I'm so happy for you!! I'm sure, like most, that worked long hours like myself, and my spouse did we didn't have much extra time to really enjoy all that life has to offer. Sadly, my spouse had to take early retirement disability for working like a slave all those years! I'm now the 24/7 caregiver, and so that's why I'm happy for YOU. ENJOY fun things like it's your last day to have the ability to enjoy life! Life for us sucks now 😢
I'm going to try and change my view on life. Sometimes you don't get what you think you want or need and find out later it was for the best!😊
I need to try that way of thinking too😊

What can I say … I am so lost for words for doctors … but it’s true it very more into money making business . Sad but true. Cheers from Australia .
Your videos give me peace when I can't be out there myself. Thank you.
Thank you for your video. I am unemployed and discouraged. This is inspiring.
