I had a set and after a couple of weeks, it went in the bin. No matter how tight it is against the pole it slips and I have very light weight curtains (eyelet).
Hi Simon , thanks for all you good review, what do you think of Molekule air mini+ supports homekit , have you ever used it do you recommend it ? Thanks
Hi, I haven’t tried the MoleKule, but I have read a really bad report on one of their other products being shown to be one of the worst air purifiers on the market. It was not this particular model, but it did put me off from even thinking of reviewing it. It’s overpriced too tbh. I’ll be reviewing the new SmartMi Air Purifier 2 soon hopefully though.
@@homekitnews I seen that video aswell this morning . Very true too expensive, maybe that’s why not much video/information About it online , excited to see your smart Mi 2 soon How could I get one in the UK? Thanks Simon
It’s not possible, as the motor doesn’t have a WiFi chip inside, only a Zigbee radio. So it needs the Zigbee hub to be able to talk to the app and to HomeKit.
Unfortunately not. You can drag the curtains, and the motor will move (not by itself), but it wouldn’t be an easy or simple task. The new Aqara Curtain Driver E1 does have function that allows you to gently tug the curtain, that results in the motor activating and opening/closing, so you’re not pulling the curtains as such, but you are triggering the motor manually.
I think you’re meant to use some included sticky pads, but from previous experience, the ones they provide aren’t that strong, so I could see the panel easily falling and smashing into pieces.
@@heckmannoleg as I’ve not been able to test it for a lengthy period of time, I can’t say for sure, but over the 7 days it was on test doing an average of 1 open and close routine every day, the battery percentage indicated that 4-5 months between charges is about right. However, it really does depend on how wide the window is, how heavy the curtains are, and how often they open/close on a daily basis.

Best HomeKit reviewer!

It also works with Hubitat if you get the right driver

Thanks Simon
It looks like the SmartMi air purifier isn’t launched in Europe yet, only the US. Their EU website says ‘coming soon’.
Nice I have the hub zigbee and on apple homekit tab will stay turning… can not use !!! Or control curtain
Have you set the limits for the motor within the Tuya app? This is a necessary step.
@@homekitnews let you know....i did same problem
Is it possible to connect with the app directly to the engine via wi-fi? Or do you have to buy an additional part to mediate?

Nice video~
Can I still manually operate my curtains with these?

Hello. They never told me how to use the solar panel.

@@homekitnews Is it enough to charge the battery? How fast does she charge it? How long does the battery last? And does it work at all?) Thanks.

@@homekitnews Thanks!
Would this cope with my previously mentioned large diameter rod? 🤣
You had to go there didn't you! 😂
@@homekitnews 🤣 well someone had to! At least I know you’re rod is a smaller diameter than 28mm
Only in cold weather…
@@homekitnews 🤣😂🤣😂 oh you didn’t mention the predicament of the cold weather 😂
