- This week's video was a special one. I attempted to translate on One Hour Translation for one whole week. Make sure to watch till the end to see how much money I made. Unfortunately, it didn't exactly go as planned. Let me know in the comments if you work on Upwork and how it's going for you.

Oh i love this! It sometime make me laught Adrian !
Thanks ! It's good to show an authentic life of freelance translator.
I appreciated!
Brilliant :)
I am new to your channel but so far I find it very professional and useful. Already I feel I have learned a lot and hope to continue on that path. Keep up the good work!
That's awesome, thank you, Andres!
I love your candid approach to this business. Keep up the good work!
Thanks so much, thats great to hear :)
They did pay me on time every time. Regarding credits: they explain how everything works when you get started with them (the translator complaining about not having been paid after one week obviously didn't go through the paperwork) and you can always check their conditions in their support page. You have to convert your credit and ask for the payment. Then, for the first payment, you'll receive it at the end of the following month. For the following payments, you receive them 15 or 30 days after requesting them (not so sure anymore how much time), and you can request them either the 15th or at the end of the month. And don't forget to send an invoice :)
And about the editing process: I haven't edited myself for OHT (I only got translation tasks), so I can't say for sure, but my translation work has been edited and I received some feedback from fellow translators, and I personally have received the full payment for each of the tasks I completed.
Awesome insights, thanks a lot, Antoine! So people who have language pairs that work should definitely signup with them while starting out :)
If the encouraged the translator to perform the work and did not fill out the papers, they cheated the translator
Thank you for the time creating this video. Very informative.
Thanks for watching!

Ta conseguindo fazer grana com esse site mesmo?
Hey, Adrian thanks so much for this video and the other two, they are really insightful but did you stop making this series of videos and if yes then why? Thanks very much for your hard work.
I took a break because they are hard to make, but I am currently filming the next one :) comes out in a couple weeks!
I'm a 19 Year old and I just started a formal job as an interpreter for a pretty... Exploiting company. I want to have another source of income and I applied for appen and lots of different freelance platforms, most of which are full of scammers. Would you recommend this platform for me?
Hi Daniel, hard to say. Some people in the comments seem to have had good experiences with them. Maybe as a side income yes, you can try it. But to build a sustainable business, I would look elsewhere
Thanks, I'm beginner I get so little job offers. I'm forced to teach to pay my bills but don't like it. Yes niches are important not popular Jobs
Thanks for this video 💯💯💯
💙
🙏 Precious advices
Thank you Mel
I will not give a shot with a company that has a reputation of cutting down the money on purpose or even not paying at all. But thank you for the information!
Absolutely, I also would never work with them.
When it comes to a job like that, when you get the money from the website what about taxes? I live in Poland and I don't really know how it works.
You have to pay income tax as a freelancer. You would have to register as a freelancer in your country and then research how the taxes work there. You will probably have to fill in a tax declaration at the end of the year.
@@Freelanceverse ohhhh okay thank you very much
Good sir keep it up
Cheers
"Gengo" is a Japanese word meaning "language", and you were pronouncing it correctly with the hard G. :)
Oh interesting :)
excellent
♥️
Very informative...
But how can we get projects??
You need to get accepted by the manual review
@@Freelanceverse how do i do that tho
I dont know, hasnt happened for me neither :D
Is anybody using OHT successfully?
I created an account with them over two months ago now and I never heard back. I've emailed them and they said they were still reviewing my application, though, after seeing this video, I am probably just to delete my account on the platform.
Someone that added me to their network on LinkedIn told me that he worked for OneHourTranslation and that it was a great company, but now I'm questioning it.
:D sorry about that haha. It's still good to make your own experiences of course, but what I gathered didm't seem promising.
They were actually my second biggest client as I got started - the assignments were really boring tbh (really low quality source texts, lots of post-editing / quality assurance, etc.), but they actually paid decently, I was able to reach 20-30€ per hour but felt a bit like a machine myself. I currently decline their assignments since I am quite busy with new (and more interesting) clients.
Oh wow okay so you could sign up for French. That sounds quite cool to get started though! Thanks for sharing!
@@Freelanceverse I signed up in December, got my first assignment one month later, and I guess from then they made sure that I was a "legit" translator, and I started receiving many assignments each week. I now don't get anything from them anymore though (I guess their system notices it when you start declining jobs from them).
You are handsom 😊😊
thank you :)
I was on the verge of joining that translating platform as a freelance translator but after having watched your review about the site I came to the conclusion that it is pointless for those who want to translate for the company
Hi Abel, it works for some people as, you can see in the comment. I'd say try it out and build your own opinion if it :)
@@Freelanceverse right , I will try it out then and see what happens .
Hi Freelanceverse, can you please suggest some legit website for beginners to translating or subtitle video?
Hi Vineet, I made a 2part video series with all the platforms. Check it out on my channel :)
@@Freelanceversewhat' s the playlist you're talking about?
How to get certified to get started working.
Plz help!
On the platform you mean?
@@Freelanceverse on onehourtranslation
Well I don't know, I havent been verified
Hey bro how you doin .
I'm really waiting for the fiverr drop servicing.
Thanks a lot for your valuable videos
Hey, what do you mean by that?
@@Freelanceverse bro its like you create a gig and when you receive an order you out source it to a person who has good ratings and much lesser price, and after he sends us the product we give it our costumer.
Ah I see, like dropshipping just with services. No, I wont make a video on that, I find it quite exploitative, that's not a practice I want to promote on my channel.
@@Freelanceverse oh OK bro never mind , but any way can you make a video on a topic that a student can do. A well paying one please
Heyy, Does this platform provides the assignments or we have to place bids on the projects as we have to on other freelancing websites, and how frequently we get assignments in a week like how much.
Hopes for early replies.
N
Keep on going buddy, I think u r really a genuine person n true from inside, kepp on going, all the best.
B-)
Hi Ram, thanks a lot! :) I think you have to check for jobs on here too, but since I never got to try it out, I cant tell you for sure.
Hello, @Heart beats! No, you don’t have to bid, you are waiting for assignments, the prices are fixed. At the beginning you have less translations but later when your rating increases assignments increase too. It also depends a lot on your language pair and, of course, of workload provided by customers. Good luck!
Why you write *fail*?
Cause it was a fail :D
Is that a 100 percent legit website uncle?
Some people had good experiences with it, so I assume so.
Yes, it is absolutely legit.
I am facing a captcha problem. Please solve my problem
what is your problem?
@@Freelanceverse captcha problem when I try to create my account. Captcha option not showing, or I could not save & continue
Ah I can't solve problems from their website sorry
@@Freelanceverse Thank you, dear, to response me about my problem. I like your behavior. God bless you
Hi !! Do you have a translator degree ?
Absolutely I do.

Don't lie next time in the video title, thanks. :)
Thats just the name of the series 🤷♂️
