Nice package. I had a 62 in Dubai great car great power. At the time it was hard to get good off road gear but I did it and now back in UK. Boy do I miss that car. Now as the y62 is more popular you can loads of stuff. Yours looks great. Keep it going. Check out y62 expedition extreme
Nice video and build. Just finished Simpson Desert trip and lucky to come back home with this Tracklander roof rack on my Y62S5. Installing accessories on this roof rack is not easy as I found out with my Tracklander Jerry cans on Victoria high country. Also, Drifta roof top tent clamps. The bolts of the roof rack attached to car came loose and I was lucky to find it on time in the desert.
Our systems have improved since we fitted the rack to your vehicle. We are now using different fixing systems which make it easier to remove the rack for additions or even cleaning the roof. We normally fix everything onto the rack when we're doing the build and this minimises the need for additions after the fact. Roof racks need daily maintenance when travelling, just like your air filter and it's not the roof racks fault it came loose but I'm glad you found it before it got really bad. Thanks for commenting. @@MORE4x4_au Might need you to rob a bank in OZ, because the AUS$ price plus 42% duty plus 15% VAT plus the container it comes in. Not enough Rands available if I only rob a local bank 🤣
So glad I found your in-depth channel..I was actually searching for 'replacement control arms' and your video was first to appear. On this particular build, I see you installed your 2nd Gen rear lower control arms..did you do anything similiar to the front?
Unreal Aaron. Once we get back the Van is going and we’ll be taking the boat and loader off the roof. Might have to look at getting one of those awnings. How do they do in wind? Can you add supports and tie downs?
That's great Will, stoked to hear (and see) you guys living your best life. Honestly we don't know 100% the outcome of vigorous squall but that can be said for pretty much any awning. They reckon it's good for right around 40km/hr winds.
With the seat covers, just keep in mind, TiL has heated and cooled seats. these seat covers dont allow them to work at all. (Neoprenes do not either). Also, that "colsole"is a A/C coolbox.. so not for storing the mic. There is a console box that you can add which does give storage on top of the coolbox
Awesome build, looking at doing something similar, however for now we don’t plan on doing any of the off grid stuff but we will be pulling a pretty sizeable van. Is there parts we can pick and choose for this some of that interior gear is fairly irrelevant for now. We have been given 9month + wait times for Y62’s what sort of lead times have you guys got on sourcing the rig
Hi Ash, Thanks for commenting, we appreciate you. We'd be happy to guide you through the process to help you achieve the goals you've set for yourself, we're outcome focus not product centric. We're scheduling build slots for November and December and are confident that we can source you a vehicle and build it before the end of the year. If you're interested in consulting with the team, reach out and we'll start the process. Over to you. Aaron Mitchell
@@MORE4x4_au Thanks for the reply Aaron will definitely be in touch, I’m only up on the central coast so I’ll try make my way down for a visit in person.
Those mud tires is kinda small for technical trails and for the size of patrol, maybe atleast 35s, here in Philippines. y62 Patrol stock tires is 275/60 R20, and if we upgrade for overlanding/offroad, 35s is the next size, or the slightly thinner 295/65/ r20
Hi Jayson, thanks for your comment. For Greg and his family, technical trails aren't his preferred type of driving and I think the terrain in Australia might be very different (in general). Standard tyre size here in Australia is 265/70R18 and our most popular tyre size is 295/70R18, 35" tyres are illegal here unless fitted pre-rego under second stage manufacture. Aaron Mitchell
Hi Paul, Thanks for asking, I'll remember to add this type of detail in future videos. It is the 4 metres x 2 metre version and at 2.5 metres long when it is packed up, we feel like its about the right length to fit the Tracklander rack which is 2.2 metres long. Aaron Mitchell
@@MORE4x4_au Brilliant information I’m very interested with that awning as I don’t want too bulky but I’m fitting dune 4x4 roof-tent onto ARB base rack platform I hope it can work together. Still waiting for car.. very soon.. many thanks 😜
What I see with all these builds is that the customer did not pack the standard items needed for themselves first to see how much space you really need. It is always after the fact especially when a company like this sell them a lot of unnecessary products at high prices and when they finally get home and pack it for a trip a lot of compromises are made and a bit of that underwhelming feeling.

holy crap, your "Aus regulations" are something else... wheel flairs to meet regulations?
Yep, tyres need to be contained within the body lines so when we change the wheel and tyre we sometimes need to install flares to keep them covered
