I love how these boys are still grounded and humble. They can show off their 150-250k rigs without sounding like they are just flexing. Unlike many of the other 4x4 shows. Well done guys. Keep doing what you are doing 👌🤙
any one else noticed Graham's cars are getting more and more sound proof haha. mate the old DVDs you could hear if the valves needed adjusting😂. great to see you back in the videos!!
Love the Y62 & how excited it's making you. As a professional Car Groomer I highly recommend keeping a good Leather Care on all of your exposed leather & clean it when you get it dirty out in the bush. A good UV protection on your dash & door cards. Less expensive than needing to repair it!
So happy you're living your dream with your new rig Graham, Can't wait to see you on a huge adventure such as the kimberly last year, Cheers from Canada 🙂
Graeme, only thing I can suggest. You're solar panel on the top of the roof rack . I have seen a couple of people who have placed them under the roof rack on a sliding draw system so when they pull up they just slide the solar panels out . They sit just underneath the roof rack , mounted to the roof rack . They are a little more protected, and they can use the full roof rack. I know the solar panel will not be working properly, but I when they are travelling along the alternator keeps their batteries changing. As far as the rest well I quess that's up to each individual Good luck Graeme
You asked what to fit next.... my recommendation, for what it's worth, is fuel. Fill it to the max and get out and enjoy it. That said, would you consider an on board fresh water filtration system, so you replenish your drinking water from other sources and not have to carry so much weight in water tanks?
Andy, that water filtration is a great idea. Thanks for sharing that. I’ll definitely be looking into this for me camper. Even the car, you just never know when shit can go pair shape ay.
Gday Graham, crackin set up you should be stoked! 3 things I believe the big girl needs - A bin bag on the spare wheel, the pvc pipe that holds the two 1 litre bottles from the gu and an on board air compressor. Great to see a progress video of your new toy, cheers
It's an impressive rig, looks comfy too!! Quality 12v with long battery life makes all the difference, and a great way to have (lazy?) convenience while saving power is to put a motion sensor on the canopy LEDs. Those LED bars will pull power, so I like a motion sensor with a timer on the living (passenger) side and a simple door switch on the storage side. Good to see it out on the tracks and getting (a little) dirty!
Nice to see the new Y62..also nice to see a trip done a the canning stock route.. wasn't much..but at least done a little.. Would love to see the whole 24/7crew do the whole canning stock route one day.
Awesome build so far and very happy for you! Future mods: Front/Rear lockers, rear winch, snorkel, extended fuel capacity. I'm 50/50 on a rooftop tent... I think you're ground swag is more efficient (lower center of gravity/wind resistance while driving). And, comms... I see one antenna, but, I believe you're a HAM radio operator, so I'd get VHF/UHF at least installed, and I also like my Garmin inReach for Satellite communication outside of cell phone reception. The best mod would be a full calendar of use, now go get into it and enjoy it! Cheers from Arizona. Pete - KI7LIL
Twin snorkels I don't know why I think it just would put the cherry on the cake for me, I know its not necessary but 2 bad ass snorkels and 100% on your roof top tent and a rear winch just because she's a big girl but Graham the mods you have done to it already is just a top job.
The Hard Korr remote for your canopy lights. Awesome when nature calls in the middle of the night and you need to see where you're "going" And, turn on/off, dim or brighten your lights from the comfort of your chair by the fire 🔥🍺👍
Running the wiring for my lightbar up through the inside or my snorkel has worked a treat an also for the wiring of the side roof lighting an read lights under my platform. So much nicer than running wires up the side of windscreen an having them stuck to the edge of windscreen. Just something simple but worked a treat.
Loved this episode Graham, really enjoy the ones you guys post about your setups and kit. One I would like to see is for the less mechanically experienced folk, like myself. I can do a service, repair/replace most everyday stuff. But when you guys are on the tracks and whip out a busted CV and replace it or something on the driveline, it’d be really nice to see a video dedicated on that sort of work. Keep up the great content guys 🤙
Graham, Love the y62 build build, ever since I drove one as a rental car here in the states I've wanted one. You've gone full tourer so I'd swap out that swag for an aluminum hard shell roof top tent on the canopy! I'd also get your charging quadrant organized with fixed-in-place chargers so they dont bounce around or disconnect; possibly shadow-box that big drawer? I'd also get your core recovery kit into the back seat so it's always accessible in case a panel or door is pinched and you can't get into it. You've got enough room in the cab, a small fridge accessible from the driver seat could make those long stretches on the move even easier. Hope to see you beating up the big girl on some tough tracks soon!
Beautiful rig mate nice job on the build I found they are very wide you may need to look at a bush barrier or a good wrap to protect the paint. Keep up the great work mate.
what are you missing....? More 4wd action! And a cold VB, only the Very Best, geesh Iron jack a bit disappointed nothing but product placement, wanted to see the old dog wheeling a few gnarly tracks and then out cook Shauno. Clearview this and mitts that.... forgot to mention fulcrum
Go the Patrols !! Grahams Y62 ! is a pretty mean looking tourer rig now ! and the color contrasts on it look good too ! well done congrats on your build !
Awsome looking rig mate, and great setup! curious if the clearview pull-out kitchen has a fold out leg underneath for added support once fully extended? I know its fully capable of taking the weight as is, but a leg would stop any of the bouncing
Never see it, going to do it on my GU IV. Might not suit the taste but a MQ decal for the side... makes the car a little different from every other build. Love you Graham
There’s Extra space behind the cab there.. I’d add in a 2nd small diesel tank, in case your underbody tank gets holed. Handy to have extra mileage on tour as well, saves having to take jerries. 👍
Everytime i see a gigantic rig like this im A: Impressed, B: wondering why spend the extra dollars on 2 back seats, that appear to have very little use compared to more storage space in a tray, or less useful than a few extra kilos taken off the thing.
Hi mate, I’m a fellow Margs lad here. Those little covers on your bulbar could house some 45 degree out facing track led lights. If you have these you will see obstacles that are close by and to the sides of the tracks. That’d be what I’d do next 👍🏼👍🏼
What about a rear winch and some bush barriers? We have a Y62 too not chopped but we love it, such an awesome 4x4. Looking forward to seeing more of your adventures
Gorgeous mate. How about onboard air? Plumb in an outlet each side of your canopy, make up some hoses to go from there to both tyres, and with a valve and regulator you can inflate/deflate all your tyres at once, hands mostly free.
My mate took me camping for the first time at Easter this year, got me into this channel and holy F am I loving every episode to the point I’m gonna buy a 4x4 to go camping and off roading
Awesome Graeme, get yourself a factor 55 winch hook so it sits flat behind the front number plate and store ya soft shackle away from the elements. Fantastic rig👍
Air compressor and a kangaroo jack/high lift jack, I know some of the others carry them on 4wd247 but Graham you do allot of solo missions and should carry some of those things yourself or accompany mounts for them, if your planning on towing, how about a towpro /throttle controller aswell? Only other suggestion would be some rock sliders and possibly a rear winch for the banter, some of the recent videos there's been some of the boys snapping winch ropes, could earn you a few beers pulling them out... 😜☺️ All the best man, wonderful rig you've built..
GRAHAM when installing the solar panel on top was a great thing , but in the future you plan installing a box for storage, on the one side , install a flat s/s flashing on the side of the box to reflect sun down onto the panel to get better reflection and not to lose amps from the panel. i learned this from a friend in the solar industry for trucks with solar panel power. on 170 panel your output on the panel should be around 7.85 amps under high sun,.
I'd take the back seat out and set up one side with easy access to 1st aid, fire extinguisher, torch and stuff you grab or need easy access to like jakets or towels. The other side for charging or in car fridge or storage.
Beaut rig Graham. If you had a remote for one of the lights on your canopy, you could tuck into swag then flick the lights off. Would be pretty handy if getting up in middle of the night too. Thanks for the content.
Love the rig!! Goals! In my ute I run an upright bushman’s fridge, with my canopy fit out I had a shallow draw made to go under the fridge I utilise as a cutlery draw and keep a slim line induction cooker. My thoughts were to use the space above the fridge that I didn’t have a use for.
A quick mount for Shovels and other dirty gear. Above the front water tank between cab and canpoy. Not to bring dirty into the canopy. It's never clean when someone is stuck.. Fire suppression. Rear left above water tank or near ladder. A fire extinguisher of fair size could be. Handy when the cooking goes south... Haha.
Dedicated charging area separated from everything else so nothing falls on your camera gear and Velcro on all the batteries so you can stick them to some marine carpet & charge them without everything rolling around while driving
Finally a real patrol, the legendary GQ Y60 with the TD42T in the next episode. Can't wait. the only thing close you have had lately is the bloody grenade GU Y61. yyyeeeeeee hheeww!!!
Great set up Graham, love it! If you haven't already, I'd seriously look into getting the wireless kit from airbag man for those rear airbags. Its bloody handy being able to check what pressure you have at a glance and be warned if there's a leak (they are expensive to replace), and being able to adjust pressure up or down using key fob is very handy (a tad lazy maybe, but who cares).
I found it handy on my old rig to have a basic on board compressor. I secured it in in the canopy and 2 ran extension lines with one outlet on the roo bar and the other on the tow bar. Then to air up I’d just click on one of those spiral hoses that could stretch out to each of the tyres. I preferred that to having to get out a bunch of stuff each time to air up. Also a little tap to wash your hands after tucking into your bacon and eggs 😂 but I assume you’ve already got that Cheers G
Awesome mate, can't beat that feeling of being fully self sufficient from your canopy for days on end👌. All you need is a couple of awning walls if you don't have some tucked away already
Would be awesome to see the boys up in the Wellington Dam/Brunswick area in W.A... I loved seeing the local Dunsborough/ Margs tracks but the Collie stuff would be awesome
I think you need to look at a different awning maybe the new bushwakka darkness it's built for canopys and your door won't hit the awning bars... plus it's got built in LEDs I run it on my patrol chop with canopy....
Blackpoint one of my favourite places to camp . I took my zr prado for its first 4wd trip . Love what you have done to the car Graham. I hope to run into you and the crew one day .
My suggestion is bush barriers, a monitor system for in side the worldcar for the rear elec system, travel buddy and last would be a hose reel to reach every wheel for inflation. Another improvement is to look at getting the spring rate redone on the hbmc system to get the hight back as that front bar and winch dropped it a lot and these big girls are animals when they have at least a extra 40- 50mm clearance underneath
Bloody awesome Graham I was only camping down that way on a solo trip a few months ago what a magic part of the world! The 62 looks bloody awesome mate.
What have you done in the cab how about a sun visor and roof mounted uhf setup do you run a vhf and uhf radio for outback runs aswell as a game sat eperb for extra safety
Where did you get the fire pit, the surrounding mesh thing on legs and mesh bbq from? What brand are they? They look good. Do they pack up to a compact size?
I would change the Nissan badge on it. It needs to start with a T and end in oyota. A roof top tent, twin lockers l, and portal hubs with reduced gears wouldn't hurt either.
This might sound crazy but is an idea I've been considering. You could weld an ozpig onto a swing arm on the rear which will have 2 benefits. First you can use it regularly with ease and second with a chimney offset you will be able to have a warm fire under the awning when it's raining. Wood fire BBQs breakfast lunch and dinner.
"Nothing fancy here folks..." *proceeds to walk around his 150 - 200 grand rig setting up camp* 😂. No hate though Graham, we are proud of you. 💪

First you can use it regularly with ease and second with a chimney offset you will be able to have a warm fire under the awning when it's raining. Wood fire BBQs breakfast lunch and dinner.
graham said "watch this space" on the 2021 dmax about the rear bar... its been almost a year and a half now and is still rocking the factory bar.
Looking good brother. Where is rhe Travel Buddy? Did u get a front locker? Why white light instead of yellow for dissuading insects? Well done mate.👍
Didn't know what the next mod would be until I got to the end. A snorkel would be the next mod. Love the rig !
Yay a proper v8 in the channel 👌🏼
