Great content, collaboration, I agree.
Is there a longer version of this?
Hey man - LOVE your content ... Where is the full podcast with Jared ?
Did they start collaborating with others when they got called out for using cheap media in a fancy case.
That's right and they didn't even engineer or design anything, they always bought third party technology.
I’ve always been decently brand agnostic. I use the best tool for the job at my disposal at the time (read in the budget of the project).
BUT, I’ve drank the koolaid over the years for the hate on Red, and maybe some of it was justified earlier on in Red’s days. They were scrappy and clawing for market share so they had some less than stellar practices.
But they were learning in an industry that’s incredibly tough to break into and notoriously gate kept, so there is no playbook. And in its current incarnation, I’m becoming a fan of Red… not just the products they make but philosophically where they stand as a company. And that philosophy shows through in the products they’re producing. And I’m becoming a believer… so much so that I ordered a V Raptor X 😂
Commitment!!! Let us know what you think of it:)
I live in Houston and I’m very interested in networking and collaboration. I have over 30 years experience as an editor but only recently have bought a camera and I’m diving into that world. I have previously worked in production on some projects over the years, but my colleagues from those projects have moved to LA and NY, so I’m trying to get with more local people and collaborate to build something in Houston, or at least get some work in production.
`Could we not skip over the fact that red gains a lot of funds from the redcode raw patent? 'Working together' here means selling a product to competitors really
Hearing Jarred talk about the importance of embracing the filmmaking community across many different brands has solidified my decision to get the Netflix-approved RED V-Raptor for my upcoming documentary shoots. Continue to innovate, Jarred!
Uhh ok 👌🏿
What's funny is that Jarred says he's all about collaboration...yet R3D isn't everywhere yet....so what the heck? Sharing with everyone that matters...not happening. They sue everyone they can who infringes on their patent.
*Nikon enter in the room*
because infringing is different from collaboration
@@denapixkingwell they aren't collaborating with anyone and also their patent basically means that no one else can use compressed raw. Imagine apple patenting the macbook and then sues everyone that makes laptops. That's what red is kinda doing.
That‘s really so bad from RED. Imagine if some company have had a patent for RAW stills and there was only one manufacturer who was allowed to produce raw stills cameras. How much worse the whole industry would have been, because of the lack of competition. It‘s insane how this could ever be a patent in the first place. But it‘s also really bad, how RED handled it. Let‘s see what Nikon does with it.
It was a total lip service ass kissing session. Total joke
Jarred is a charlatan
I agree
LIP SERVICE. Nikon weren’t using REDs technology. What a joke. Irrelivant now but for him to pretend RED was cooperative is a joke.
didnt this guy get fired ?
Why…because he said the truth….Canon is the best mount”(ef/rf)😂😡😭
Nobody actually believes that statement, what you guys did was thinking business and doing business. Red's legacy is well established, and everyone respects the hard work that went into it. There's no need to try to change your image; it won't work.
Why…because he said the truth….Canon is the best mount”(ef/rf)😂😡😭
Dude is all talk. Terrible company in the past. Hopefully the Nikon aquisition changes things.
Why…because he said the truth….Canon is the best mount”(ef/rf)😂😡😭
Why are you giving a known charlatan a platform? This guy and his cronies single handedly slowed down innovation and competition for years and have been scamming their customers aswell
Instant-sub 🤌🏾
