HVAC Designer, Licensed Real Estate Agent, Business Owner, Graphic Designer... lack of focus seems to be a major theme here
Right. Clearly all of the above professionals can net him more than 28k a year lol
What’s the best way to learn graphic design and how long would it take until you can get a job?
Sounds like he isnt qualified for any of those. If he was actually good at just 1 of those he would make more than 28k a year.
My boss does HVAC designs and engineering (with a two year degree) and makes around 200k a year lol
Meh
The guy calls in for advice...won't shut his mouth and has an excuse for everything.
True he is bitter from being hurt so he can't hear or see nothing other than pain and being a victim.
For EVERYTHING
He talks a lot, sure. But,
A. Phone conversations are hard; especially when the topic is thick.
B. He is stressed, so there's a lot of backstory to shove into a 7 minute conversation.
C. At 6:55, when Dave tells him to go to work, he clearly accepts that info.
I got agitated too, but that's just because I'm trying to listen to Dave. The caller has no reason to care about me hearing. This was HIS chance at a new start and he attacked it head-on and did a good job.
Finance should be mandatory starting in all elementary school from grade 3 onward.
Learning about it will not stop American from getting deeper and deeper into debt. Many American want to be living the American Dreams on DEBT. Most American don't have COMMON SENSE. I didn't go to any finance school but I use my own common sense to manage my finances. I am 45 years old in USA, my house is paid off, rent free and mortgage free, I am also a single mother to a 14 years old child that live with me full time, all of my credit cards is paid off. I don't live above my MEANS. Food for thought.
My Parent are in their 70s that are still living the same American Dreams with plenty of DEBTS and they still have a Mortgage, the same lifestyle they were living when younger. But, you know what? I didn't follow their kind of life. I use my own common sense not to live like my parent and that was how I was able to pay off my house when I turned 40 years,5 years ago.
Ikr. I see so many with high incomes yet living paycheck to paycheck
My high school math teacher put us through FPU and I learned more life skills through that than any other class.
The call it Maths, everyone does it.
he fired the guy that made his business flourish
Maid ..... come on man ( made * )
@Frank Olivieri 🚨 grammar police on duty 🚨
He killed the golden goose.
Didn't make any sense to me either. He fired the guy because he said that he wasn't doing his job but yet helped him make 97,000 🤔
@@rachel8041
The fired guy was probably a Sales Man and one of his responsibilities was to pass pamphlets at the hospital. He didnt do that and he got fired. Salesman probably felt handing out pamhlets was pointless to his sales job.
I don’t believe he’s “stone-cold sober.” Why would he even make that comment if he were? That came out of left field.
Why would he even mention it?
could be that he has and had a problem with drinking and is going to recovery fellowships for it and he’s sober right now.
Kind of suspicious that this guy feels the need to shout out that he’s sober
Perhaps it's something he takes pride in because he knows addiction can be a strong hook? You're making a big assumption he has a problem.
Exactly. Probably pain meds
Eh I know plenty of people that come from really rough homes and since their parents used/drank so they become very defensive to that stuff. I wore not drinking as a badge of honor for a while because of my mother's side of the family.
I went thru a divorce. I lived in my car for 8yrs to pay my child support. It wasn’t ez.
It hurt a lot.
I never felt sorry for myself
I never did drugs
I never gave up.
Now I’m about to buy my house cash.
I have zero debt. I have a large savings acct.
I’m blessed.
Props dude that's really rough

It could be that he was under performing with this kid as his boss, but once he was let go he was extremely motivated to bury this kid for letting him go. Its amazing how a firing can light you on fire
Rock bottom is solid ground. That's profound and humbling.
His life has turned into a long country song💔😢. Hang in there you will get through this Amen🙏
Katrina Umana - amen. Most of the people who call I don’t really feel bad for because they lived beyond their means. But he seems like he can’t catch a break. Hope he does soon.
This guy blames everybody but himself what were you doing before you got divorced I was a college student like those air conditioning schools does not mean exactly cause student what happened to your business well it wasn't my fault the guy that was the laziest guy I fired him and then he run me out of business I mean does that make sense why do you have all the debt well I'm a Christian so I didn't go to court for the divorce LOL everyone else's fault
Love that forward-looking positive comment.. "the rear view mirror is smaller than the windshield".
This guy definitely is or was an addict... he just randomly shouted out to himself being sober lol
Cant discharge student loans in bankruptcy. Beans and rice sounds good right about now...
Maybe deliver some pizzas for side cash....but from what i heard on that phone call,he will call 2 months later whining about growing car bills and him needing a new car🙄
Or pj and J and dollar tree food
yeah, back to college living lol 😂, PBJ, instant noodles, rice&beans, beans&rice, 😋 yumm 🤣
Unfortunately, he sounds like he enjoys being a victim.
I appreciate how kind Dave is when he asks about their lives.
So many of the comments here are negative against the caller. Would bet some of them aren’t any better off. Good for him for asking for help and wanting advice. Hope he doesn’t read the negative comments. He has a student loan at 48 but he went to college later in life. Stop being so judgmental.
That mute at 7:34 was glorious
So divorce is against his religion, but he gets divorced anyway, but in a way that leaves him in financial ruins and allows his ex wife to get away scot free with zero debt?! His religion sounds fun.
He decided himself that he would let his wife get away with no debt. It has nothing to do with the religion
So you’re pro divorce?
Classic Tycoon I’m anti-marriage
JJ Anthony this had nothing to do with religion, more to do with moral stupidity.
The part that was against his religion was sending his wife away with half his debts.
Make another “20,000$” between now and the end of year. Hahah Dave you are great man
“I do everything but I’m not doing any of it right now’ is what he’s basically telling Dave LOL. Good luck brother.
"I've done it all stone-cold sober".
Something an addict would absolutely say without being promoted.
I noticed that, as he's explaining his story, nothing that went wrong was his fault. He is sooo gracious to not fight a divorce though? Hello... you gotta do something! There are a lot of inconsistencies here. I hope he stops being a victim someday. Good luck!
Figured out why the guy is bankrupt: he won’t shut up and let other people speak.
Right. And sounds like he knows everything and nothing simultaneously.
@@ceecee8757 that's a funny statement.
Student loans are not discharged in bankruptcy, bankruptcy is a great tool in some circumstances but not all
I think we all know that by now
1224-what do “we know”?
@@JohnSmith-kr9zw we know that after a Private student loan has reached the status of limitation, the collector cannot force repayment on the debtor, depending on your state. Dave Ramsey was coaching a girl to pay back a 5 year loan, meaning that she didn't have to pay it back.

Almost 50 with this debt and college debt while making 28K a year? it's over.
kolop1 😂😂
I don't think the debt is the problem but I am really concerned about the income!! With enough income the debt can be paid off but with too little it will never be paid. Some people are really, really valuable.

I was making 600$ a month and still managed to save up 5000$ in two years in my third world country
@Jessica Smith you dont make 400 a month? That's poverty.
400 a month in my country in the location I grew up in is very very good. Our expenses are barely 150 a month. And that's solid middle class living with a non working spouse and two kids. Single guys can manage at 80-90 a month.
300$ month
@@PritamDas_26 Wow that's so interesting! Do you mind sharing what country that is?
This guy is 48 and won't shut up to get advice from Dave. Dave was patient and understanding
Wow a lot happened in short time. That’s rough. I hope he can turn things around. Sounds like a good guy
I know this guy's type. He isn't satisfied with having a job, because he feels he needs to be a "big man." He's all over the place. Could go get a job at a retailer for the holidays, deliver pizzas, do real estate NOW (he's gonna need to start with an established agency that already HAS branded marketing material) ... He sees himself as a baller, not someone who's working a regular job like most people. And that mindset is holding him back. He's just all OVER the place with no concrete plan ... otherwise, he would not have fired his best salesman. That story in itself made zero sense ... It's Walter Mitty syndrome. (For anyone who doesn't know the reference, Walter Mitty = "an ordinary, often ineffectual person who indulges in fantastic daydreams of personal triumphs." JUST GET A JOB! GET TWO! Work your HARDest and save WHILE doing real estate on the weekends. Etc. "Regular" work is honest, good, important work.
jorasparents sounds like my dad
Exactly. I can’t stand seeing people not want to have a normal job and work for someone else. Like they are above that kind of work. I guess they have that luxury. Most people don’t. The important part is to have a GOAL. Make a decision of where you want to be with your career in 10+ years and find out how to get there. Talk to people who have done it. Surround yourself with smart ethical businessmen.
"I underestimated his power"

The are 60 year olds taking on student loans to go to school. It's insane.
@@DisabilityExams because we support college for everyone. Lol
Lianne, that's not uncommon. Some people go back to college to either finish their degree or look for something else to get a degree in at that age. Besides 48 is becoming the new 38 as we live longer and longer. Pretty soon people won't be able to draw social security until they're 70.

Its very very and I’ll say it again VERY easy to make 10k-20k a year doing a side hustle in the advanced world we’re living in.... he can easily earn 20k as a freelancer graphic designer or he can do side gigs like DoorDash, Uber or Amazon. Im an a cyber security tech and i work pretty much 60 hrs a week at a university but i make extra 15-25k a year (depending how hard i wanna push it) doing DoorDash. It’s all mental and ego. Once you set your mind straight and put your ego to the side, you’ll realize that doing a side hustle will make a huge impact in your financial life. Just dont work yourself to death though
Dave told him to throw those bills in the trash. I know Dave means for the caller to just not worry about them right now, but those bills should be SHREDDED so he's not a victim of identity theft.
