Nice opinions even though i disagree especially with IWH2BMX. I like seeing black women be chill and not the stereotype of us always being mad. Maybe because I could relate, I am very nonchalant I don't like to showcase or get angry. So that's why i was fine with that song.
what a fun, honest review! even when i personally disagreed, you guys took time with your points and clearly have great chemistry. would love to hear how you guys feel about the tour later on
Thanks so much for checking us out!! What are some of the main opinions you disagreed on? The best thing about music is that it's subjective so it's always fun to discuss!
Yesss! Before I start the video I have say I’ve been catching up on yall reviews like this picking an era and critiquing it. I’m ready and seated! I was being patient waiting for this review! Perfect timing off work early took an edible poured a glass of Pinot noir let me press play!
@@CCTVPOPS your very welcomed I really enjoy your videos. Um what I want to see, I like when yall critique an era of any artist and give some background and do a track by track analysis
I think when considering a body of work that you want success from, the sound of today's market has to be considered to gain traction. FLO are top vocalist, but they are also young and have scope to grow on subject matter and how deep and raw in the cuts they go with songs. The young ladies did a good job of keeping it age appropriate, a mix of girl power, vocal presence and authenticity (for the most part) of . Hear songs for love making, without being vulgar in content. Songs that are tailor made for clubs without it being over thought about in the content, yet catchy and more beat driven. Some songs do a better job of it than others but excellent debut and for the majority of the project felt authentic to where they are at, at this stage of career. Chantel hits nail on the head about I'm Just A Girl. Brilliant direction sonically but just needed a bit more from the main hook. Ya'll tripping on IWH2BMX though, because a current R&B girl group, not going a current R&B sound route, would generally be deemed as them missing the mark, even if the rest of the body of work strong. Love the various opinions, because it's all about what resonates in the ears and brain to a persons taste. Great review.
Such good points here - I completely agree, they definitely need to show they are relevant in the current soundscape as well, I just don't personally love that current soundscape, haha! Thanks so much for all of your comments!
Bending My Rules is def my favorite song, followed by Soft and the criminally short Trustworthy. I’m a big fan so I like/love everything they release, but I do agree there’s no standout undeniable hit. I do think this is a great foundational debut album and will age pretty well in their discography. Keep - Bending My Rules Cut - Walk Like This (love the song but not on the album) Amazing and insightful review as always! Definitely helped me put into words a lot of feelings I have for the album. Would rate it a 8.5 overall.
my first time listening to the podcast! i really enjoyed listening to your opinions, even though i feel differently about some of the songs lol. IWH2BMX, Nocturnal and I'm Just A Girl are my top 3 - i tend to prefer songs with a darker and/or experimental sound. to me, Check is the hit that got away! overall, this was a great debut (8/10) and i'm looking forward to hearing the ladies inject a bit more vulnerability into their music.
Ahh thanks so much, let us know what else you'd like to hear us discuss! Great points all around - so excited to see/hear how they perform all these songs!

they did the off beat for SWC on purpose to symbolize the guy they’re talking about being “off”
Oooh - love that idea! Doesn't make it less jarring though, haha! - Chris
