Havertz is one of the reasons we won today, he was a menace to the Liverpool defence all game long
I did not get how they spent a whole 60 seconds talking about how bad he was when he did so much good things today.
One of his best performances for us. Super decisive. Didn't wait till the last second... we all knew he could fix that lol. Glad he did.

@@hfn3778 Agreed. It could be hard to bring in 2x midfielders (non-wingers) amongst all the other business we should get done. Not really convinced either of Lokonga or Patino will break through for next season, but who knows.
Tbh Frenkie is more a runner then a passer, Jorgi really is elite in breaking the lines for his position

@@BetaFax I believe there is a list of instructions set by coaches. And normally from our staff instruction is - proactivity. But in moments like this every coach will say maybe not get rid of it immediately but do quick research - do didn’t switch Diaz off completely but you dare to signal like you did and confused everyone. Diaz always was to close to try things like this.
If Kiwior and Jorginho play the next few games we can afford to play deeper again and unleash Odegaard, Havertz, Martinelli & Saka on fast breakouts again. It has worked well in all three our games post Dubai, so far.
Plus it brings back some of that defensive grit mentality back to our team we had for every away game last season to make them more focused in the moment.

Jorginho was excellent, definitely surpassed my expectations, my bad.
For Trossard, I would like to see Mikel consider him as options for CF / False 9 and RW, as well as LW. It seems like the minutes are always shared between Martinelli and Trossard, but I would have preferred Trossard coming on for Havertz, or possibly for Saka. Mikel is not managing Sana’a minutes great still, and I hope that issue is either resolved with Reiss (or Trossard), or an addition this summer.
It’ll be figured out this summer for sure, but taking out Kai or Bukayo for Trossard is a mistake. Leandro coming on after 70 minutes is always a good move but it has to be Martinelli every time

Magalhaes is a motm for me. He was a real build up facilitator with his pin point long balls in a first half, defensively almost perfect. What an eye for a pass, what an iq
His passing has improved tenfold this season

Not typical that I disagree with you guys, but I thought Havertz was one of the best on the field for us along with Jorginho and Rice. Held the ball up extremely well, pressed well, linked with others and looked assertive. Apart from that, I agree with everything you’ve said so far!
Agree. Havertz dark arts got Konate sent off which was big for us.

They hadn’t lost for five months and yet we’re still only two points behind them after a calamitous holiday period. I don’t mind us conceding meaningless possession because it gives us more opportunities to play in transition where we are actually really good.

Yep, Jorginho is better at 6 than Rice for this team at this point in its development. Jorginho offers line-breaking passing that only Partey betters, but Jorginho has better longevity and fitness than Partey. Rice is a better athlete than either Partey or Jorginho, but he's not breaking lines with his passing to the same extent as the other two.
Willo make that mistake. Once in a while he was on his poor side.

Saka received in 1 on 1 and he never tried to take on his man, he slowed it up and then got double/triple teamed. Saka needs to be more adventurous and take on his man when 1 on 1. He had probably 3 or 4 times where he could have made something happen.
That’s so unbelievably false. He slows up because he KNOWS if he tries to take on his man the Liverpool players who are creeping up for a double team will pounce hard. They’re waiting for him to make an attack and counter on him, before giving him a chance he directs the ball somewhere else. He was playing defensively so well today, there’s no reason to gas him out on offense and defence and that decision worked really well for us today considering he found his way in other areas of the pitch (ie. his rebound goal, almost scoring off the cross, and his shot off the inside cut from the right). the kid did everything right today
@@kingkai18 Saka will never get 20 goals a season without taking on his man and being a top player.. aka Mo Salah. he has to get stuck in and make chances
@@wyatt1973123 and you can't take on your man when he's about to be backed up by another one or two players. the reason Salah does so well is because his team plays off of counters and quick connecting plays. you're asking for Saka to do it himself which you don't see much of these days in the Prem, especially with a style like ours. Look at Man City, their wingers score via combinations as well and if Saka was on that team it'd be the same thing, double teamed, but break out via a pass from a midfielder or FB to get him into the box. Solo winger goals are much less common than you think when it comes to non-counterattacking football versus a lowblock (which we face ALL the time, when Saka isn't facing a lowblock ie. UCL games, he can score solo)
saka slowing down the attack lets the defense get settled and then you have 5 in the back vs 2

saka was on his own with a great cross ball today against LV and he could have done some trick and things but he just didnt go forward.. he needs to be more agressive and take some chances..whether they dont happen or not but a random shot near the goal that is deflected can get into the net

He was great today but across the season Rice has been more of a leader
That was a magnificent performance. I was so upset at half time because we fully deserved to be ahead then Pool came out and had a decent first 5 minutes but then we got it totally under control for the rest of the match and got the goals and the points. 100% deserved win and totally outplayed and outclassed a very good Liverpool team. So proud of the boys tonight and you two mirrored my emotions perfectly. Thanks guys keep up the beautiful work. COYG ❤🤍
