Odegaard is our most important attacking player. He may be one footed, but he is so unbelievably complete and good at everything, that he elevates us to a ridiculous degree. He leads the press, is always available, finds pockets of space to accelerate our attack and covers more ground than anyone else game in and game out. Oh, and he's the club's best finisher. Arteta has fully unlocked him in his new role and we are flourishing as a result.
He is truly remarkable. Only really missing one or two things, for me.
Big Gabi gets ANOTHER goal lol. That pass from Jorgie for the Havertz goal was insane. Kai wins the ball AGAIN for Saka's goal. Kiwior goal will help him keep on keeping on. Really impressed with him recently. Shame they scored but hey, they a decent team.

Anyone else notice the same comments after each game, that Arsenal were good but the other team played poorly? Surely 6 games in a row can not be the opposition playing badly its shows how well we are playing
We force them into playing bad. Our high press chokes teams. When we lose the ball we also get it back quick, then it's wave after wave of attacks. Loving it! Porto are going to park the bus at the Emirates. We will keep attacking their goal

whether ppl like it or not Jorginho need to play for the big games and wrap up in cotton wool for the smaller game. He just make Arsenal midfield significant better without needed rely on Zinchenko, deserved the man of the match 100%
Bhavs' comment about the players' performance matching the build-up from the club was spot-on. Going into the match the build-up was starting to remind me of the City and Sporting Lisbon home games from last season, so glad it didn't turn out that way

Im very proud of Martinelli for how he is getting better at Assists to his teammates.
Even though he hasnt been banging in the goals, his work rate hasnt dropped at all and his passing to Havertz and Odegaard has greatly improved.
Hopefully he can continue like this, even when the goals start flying in (And believe you me, they will)
I have noticed that also. His crosses are less erratic lately.

I must say the first half game is something I have never seen in a game of football in my life. I dont think Arsenal would have had such domination against the U20 team. Such was the dominance & intensity. I really hope they save up some energy for the next game. Lol

51 minutes ball in play, 63% possession and yet we out fouled our opponents 24 to 12.
Porto’s game plan doesn’t work if the ref doesn’t call nonsense fouls.
If we were allowed to win the ball back with our press without the whistle being blown we’d have won 2-1 (their goal was just quality, I’m not going to deny that).
It’s hard to gauge leverkusen because they are not in the Chamions league but currently it’s between us and them for best teams right now in February.

@@hanzosiku Porto are a well coached and drilled side. Even with a reasonable ref we might need to win on Penalties.
That ref was taking the piss!! I thought Champs league refs were supposed to be the best of the best.
Just a thought that I have been having for months and months. I’m really happy with how we deal with defensive headers. There’s a real effort / ability to redirect those headers to a teammate. You see so many teams resigned to just putting the ball ‘somewhere’. Ours is biased towards putting the ball ‘there’.
How do we beat a side like Porto if they don't take the bait and press??
A player like Emile might actually be useful with his ability to carry the ball or Jesus... Jorginho was a miss too with his ability to break the lines and feed it over the top.
I wonder what tactical adjustments we'll make for the 2nd leg. I would love to see a preview/breakdown!

Porto was a blip but the loss wasn't surprising. They're a strong defensive side with a great home record. We are also solid defensively, great at home and we can score goals. The game at the Emirates will be completely different. Our boys will be up to set it straight. I'm predicting an Arsenal 2-0 win
Our track record for the last 20 years says that we’ll get 2-3 important player injuries in late March/early April, and that’s where we tend to crumble. I hope to God and the Universe that that is not the case this season and we continue this run
City lost points early when KDB and Rodri were out, we’re breathing down Liverpool’s neck and they have a lot of injuries too. This has to be it
