Kings Island probably. I honestly wouldnt be surprised. Although last year, we had a great time at Kings Dominion too. Ill be honest though, Kings Island probably has the best ride ops in the chain, its a beautiful park, and ive yet to find an employee in anything but a cheerful, helpful mood. Go to CP for the rides, go to KI or KD for the better park experience.

KI is really more like #1C opposed to #3

I’m the opposite and I’ve been to CGA but not SFGAm. The only coaster they have in common is Demon and some older flat rides as well as the park’s layout. Contrary to what you might believe, the park is actually still run pretty well, it’s clean and I would generally say a good time.

Nice video, but it's crazy that you have Dorney and Kings Dominion ahead of Kings Island and Cedar Point, I would not put them in the 1 or 2, but it's your ranking.

Not a rollercoaster ranking, but KI not being #1 might be controversial, but I think I validated those reasons. Cannot emphasize enough that I've been to these parks all this season (except Wonderland and cga) I'm only ranking this year's overall park experience. CP is having a nightmarish season...
All of these issues might not be the parks fault, but it's certainly not the paying guests fault.
If for nothing else, it's an encouragement for people to travel and judge for themselves.

Kings Island for sure.. for now. CP is too stressful with popularity level, and rides breaking down, and very tempermental weather.. it offsets the ride quality/ novelty a bit. KI #1 CP#2.. Maybe #3 if KD and Carowinds get just a bit more.. CP's challenges are harder to rectify.
Love your insight on the mid tier parks though! I haven't gotten out to any of this yet unfortunately.
I will say though, i dont think the iron menace jerk is uncomfy at all.. but I dont think we can dismiss it as " its a small plot at a high speed!" Theres plenty of tight, fast rides that provide smooth transitions. This is just another moment of B&m having a slightly jerky entrance to the brakes... but hopefully its like Raptor and doesnt cause extra wear and tear (which I think theyll be fine)
Just like TT2... just cause a shake/ jerk isnt painful.. doesnt mean its "good" lol

If this was a rollercoaster ranking, we both know Cedar Point is at the top of the chain, but not the case in terms of nearly everything else that affects your experience.
CP gets plenty of praise for their ride lineup, this list focuses on the parks that do all of the little things better than everyone else in addition to their ride lineup.
I stand behind my evaluation for the 2024 season. (CP doesn't get bonus points for the glory days 😂)

Cedar Point is my home park and though I absolutely love it, the problems show. With all of these record breaking prototype attractions, many of which reaching 25-30+ years old at this point, there is a lot of downtime mixed with experiences that are looking more and more dated by the year. Had Coastermania yesterday and during night ERT, I managed two rides. Compare that with KI where I got plenty of night rides on my favorites and they just don't seem to have their act together the same way KI does.

Agreed on mostly everything you said. It's still a great Park, but they lost their customer first approach. The aging and often closed rides are starting to bother me a bit too.

Sorry for the multiple comments, but i agree with you 100% on the CP/dragster thing. Theyll get it right. But i just have to say, when "giving someone a chance" usually you wouldnt atart them off with the biggest, fastest thing around. Zamperla will fix it, and when everyone else gets to ride it, they will see how good it is. Ive got 22 rides on it so far. Its a great ride, and the trains are comfortable. Also the ONLY trains in the park where the lap bar locks in place, and doesnt come down on you.

I can’t help but to think that proximity has a lot to do with your ranking of Dorney. Perhaps, subconsciously, but there’s something to be said for a park that’s close enough to home that you can just make a short drive, quick shower, and climb into your own bed!

Dorney is further from my house than Cedar Point or KI.
I love them all, and in the past would skip dorney entirely in exchange for another visit to one of the bigger parks.
BUT, when they do something right, I wanna talk about that too.
If I were ranking coaster lineups...as much as I love Dorney, they wouldn't be #2. Lol But I'd guess they realize that.
KI is probably one of my top 5 favorite places to be in America, but they deserved a little criticism.
Door has to swing both ways in my opinion.

@@PRC2019 Yeah for sure! CP is my home park, but from what I've experienced this year they deserve plenty of criticism. I like KI, but with it 3 and a half hours away, and being an early riser, I like to go early and leave early as it seem to get extremely crowded on weekends. I don't get many summertime night rides and I miss the fireworks/drone/laser/fountain show, but I really only care about coasters so I'm okay with it. I like KI's haunt for getting night rides. The crowds can get bad then too, but a good portion of those guest are there for the haunt attractions so I usually do okay. Weekend after the 4th hope to get to Dorney again, it'd been a while for me. also plan to get down to Kings Dominion, so I'll have a better overall feel for the parks in 2024 then. Thanks for making the video, keep them coming!

Cedar point at 5? Seems like you are just hating on it bcuz of top thrill issues. Even without top thrill cedar point should be higher. I know these ranking are overall experience. But ride lineup should be the biggest factor in deciding where to place the parks. We go to amusement parks for the rides. Cp has an amazing coaster lineup ,one of the best in the world. I think they have great food options as well. Ive never experienced bad operations there myself. They are blazing fast compared to my homepark(valleyfair). I have a hard time seeing kings dominion and dorney above cp. I can see an argument for kings island.

    • @PRC2019
      @PRC2019  Месяц назад

I think you make some valid points, but in fairness, I WAS giving CP enormous credit for the coaster lineup. As does everyone else, which is why lines consistently exceed 1-2 hours on MANY of the coasters. Considering that we both agree that we go to the parks to RIDE, I take line length heavily into consideration as well. However, I visited KD last Saturday for the 4th time this season and haven't waited more than 30 minutes for ANY coaster in each of those 4 visits. Additionally, the Kings Parks and Dorney have a more friendly layout to navigate without having to walk the entire length of the peninsula.
I really appreciate your feedback and value the opinions of the people that watch the videos.
Can't wait for some more engagement in the future, hopefully I gave you a little snap shot into my (at times) unconventional way of viewing things.
I really try my best to place effort into judging by sound and fair criteria.

@PRC2019 ya I agree , the wait times are really long at cp. I forget about that because I usually just get fastlane ,but that's a huge extra exspence that you don't need at other parks.

Im surprised that Valley Fair still operates their impulse with the holding brake. The one from Geauga Lake went to Dorney, right? That one had a brake, and they quit using it because it was too hard on the structure, and trains. Even wicked twister had its own team of welders that went and welded on it every night. Hell, i just seen them welding on Magnum last night.
