Hi Bro, Ur review was super good. Covering all aspects as an owner. Im taking 2016 used octavia tdi style plus. Apart from checking idle roughness do i need to check anything specifically?
Check for any accidental damage & service records. If it’s automatic check for smooth gear shifts. Also if it’s run more than 1 lacs check for replacement of water pump & timing belt
Should the battery be the SKODA one or any Battery (EXIDE etc.) would work? I heard from certain people was that it should only be the SKODA battery which would supply the right Power unlike other Batteries might impact the Electronics. Any idea on that?
@@kirank.samudrala1849 yes it’s true but it doesn’t mean you should buy in company only (Even in company they provide Amaron I guess)…. Buy Amaron or any premium batteries. Exide didn’t work for me (worked only 9-12 months) Amaron lasted more than 18-24 months
Hi Bro, im using chevey optra 1.6 petrol now but now i would like to buy 2016 Model 1.8 DSG, 56000km running car with 2nd owner asking price is 10.5lak, pls give me suggestion, what is right price we can consider this car, if i bought this car how much i need to spend for recommended service this 56000km, and one big question, this is right decision can i buy this 8years old car now ?
Bro need your advice. Ive come across a 2017 2.0 tdi 2nd owner facelift model style plus variant. The car has done 76k km so far. Had inspected and driven the car. Drives really well. It has extended warranty till 2023 august and 4 new tyres. No major maintenance issues so far. Asking price is 17Lac. How much do you think i should ask for to get a good deal?
Now there is a huge demand for this car.. check with service centre whether they can extended the warranty for another 2 years.. if they can then buy around 15.5-16.5.. Car is worth.. just check whether 45k once they have done a automatic transmission fluid changed if it’s a 6 speed gearbox.. If they can’t extend warranty then ask for 14-15… negotiate with this warranty part and get a good deal… other than that check service records..
@@LifestyleMadness thank you so much for the reply ! Just a bit worried about the car already at 76k km in 4 years . Is it okay for the car or has it run too much? How can i know whether there might be any mechanical issues? How can i know for sure if transmission oil has been changed? Planning to meet the owner again this saturday . Couldnt meet him yesterday to check the papers. I only driven the car.
Forgot to mention. The car’s rear window motor isn’t working properly. Owner said it will be replaced under warranty and part has been ordered. Should I buy the car only after it’s fixed ?
Switch on the car and feel for any vibrations in steering or over brake pedals… once switched on it should maintain roughly 750rpm.. kindly take it to Skoda service centre they can help you for transmission oil change n any future repairs pending.. else take to a known local service centre. Hi sir. Thanks for the video. Is it recommended to buy a 2014 1.8 tsi elegance petrol automatic? It's going to be my family's first car. Would like to have it at least for the next 5-6 years. Our req is a) 50-70 km every weekend, b) 1200-2000 km one road trip every 2-3 months. Could you please answer the following questions. 1. Is it a wise decision to buy an 8-9 years old Octavia as the first car? 2. Is the 1.8 tsi engine a reliable one? 3. Yearly maintenance cost approx for the car that has already clocked 50k km? Thanks in advance.
Hi Kavin If it’s your first car go for a new car (if u r planning to buy a petrol car). Also Virtus/Slavia both are good comes with 4 years warranty. Buying a 8 or more years old car will give you more maintenance. If you plan to buy a used car then buy 3 years old or max 4 years old. 1.8 Tsi engine is reliable but 8 years old car will have lot more to replace (suspension, wear n tear rubber components, water pump, timing chain etc) if not immediately at least in next 6 months or 1 year.
Hi, I am planning to buy 2017 Octavia 1.4 TSI Ambition Manual model. Its completed 45000 km. Spinny offers me 1 year warranty. But it is not double headlight model. They assured me to repair it before sell it to me. Their asking price is 8L. Shall I purchase my first car which is 6 years old. Please suggest.
Sir 1.4 Tsi is a good car. 8 lacs is an okay deal going by the new car prices available at this time in the market. It’s definitely a good deal when compared with slavia @ base price will be somewhere around 12-14 lacs. You will get a better feel than slavia/Virtus definitely…Even if u buy @ 8 lacs n spend 2 lacs it’s worth it won’t trouble you at least till 1 lac km or another 5 years (max spending 2 lacs for any parts replacement)… Just a question if spinny offers 1 year warranty won’t they do these fuel leaks n other suspension works..? Also check for an approximate cost to clear these works from spinny itself… Happy Motoring 😊
Bro it depends… Second hand price of the car varies from state to state & city to city… in general if u buy a car which is less than 80k run is good & as a thumb rule how much ever u invest, make 20-30% of its cost as extra provision for the next 2-4 years maintenance
If you maintain in a private garage it’s very economical & almost same…. 15k kms service you will end up paying 10-20% more what u pay for a hatchback, rapid or city… For a 5-6 year old car u need to replace rubber components which may cost u max 70k in outside garage…apart from this no other major work will come
