Whoa whoa whoa, he's not sn oaf in the Mummy. One thing i love about him in the first movie is his battle alongside the foreign legion, and later his experience with The Legion really comes forward. Not only that, his story with the trek across Libya is interesting.

I see why this failed hard, Brendan Fraser just doesn't channel Dudley's signature aloofness. His acting comes off as Stiff, serious, forced and overall wrong as showcased @ 1:30. Dudley would've never yelled with such aggression in his tone, he would've been shocked & queried Nell as to what she was doing.

He's a mountie, that's Canada's federal police force. I wouldn't expect them to be charming. lol You must've not known about "Fraser's" comedy... it was very silly and had slapstick in it. Like George of the Jungle or the silliness of Monkeybone, or all the funny performances he did in Bedazzled. He might be annoying to you but the early 2000's and late 90's loved him sorry.
